Brainscan Movie Review

Trailer here.

Brainscan is a 1994 horror/sci-fi movie directed by John Flynn and starring Edward Furlong, Frank Langella, T. Ryder Smith and Amy Hargreaves.

Michael(Furlong) is a teen who lives on his own when his father is away for work. His mother died in a car crash and his leg was mangled. He has nightmares about it. He likes loud music, horror movies and video games. He gets into trouble at school for showing his horror movies to others in a group so the principal tells him that if he wants to show anything in the future, he will have to give it to him and he will see if it is suitable. Michael has a best friend called Kyle(Jamie Marsh) and he tells Michael about a new game called Brainscan. Michael doesn't think that it will be anything great but he orders it.

Michael spends his time spying on his neighour, Kimberly(Hargreaves). She knows that he is watching her. Kyle wants to play Brainscan but Michael insists on trying it first. He has to call a number to get the game. Meanwhile, there is a murder in the neighbourhood. Michael sees the police there, led by Detective Hayden(Langella). He tells Michael to go home and stop looking at the crime scene. Michael receives the first disc of the game. He starts it. The first stage is that he has to think like a killer and see a murder. He is instructed by a voice which tells him that he has to break into a house and kill a man. He is told to take the guys foot as a trophy. Michael wakes up from the game and thinks that it was intense.

He tells Kyle about it. Michael finds out that there was a murder for real and it is exactly the same as the killing in the game. He goes to the crime scene and meets Detective Hayden again. The cop sends him away. Michael searches for the severed foot and he finds it in the fridge, He calls the Brainscan phone number but it isn't available. The game calls him. He asks the person on the phone what it going on. A man comes out of the game. He is called the Trickster(Smith). He tells Michael that he committed the crime himself. He tells him that there was a witness and he has to kill them. Michael takes the foot into the woods and tries to bury it. A dog discovers it and runs off with it. Michael gets it back and buries it.

Kyle calls to see him and he wants the Brainscan game. Michael refuses. The Trickster appears again. He wants him to play the second disc. Michael says that he is going to the police but he ends up playing the game again. This time, he films himself. He wakes up and he watches the video. He sees himself leaving and he finds a bloody trophy in the fridge once again. Kim calls to see if he is ok. The Trickster comes back and tells him that Kyle knew things about him and he could have been dangerous. Mike is upset as he has killed his best friend. Hayden calls to see him. He is suspicious. The Trickster gives him another cd and tells him to watch it and find a clue that he missed.

Hayden finds some burnt stuff in the fireplace and he takes it with him. Michael plays the game again. He goes to the crime scene to find something that he left behind. The police are there and Trickster diverts them so that Michael can look. The principal catches Michael and he is going to get the police but he gets killed before that can happen. Michael runs off. The Trickster wants him to kill Kimberly next. Michael doesn't want to. He decides to turn himself in but doesn't. He goes to Kimberly but can't kill her. Trickster shows up and he tries to stab him. Trickster swallows Michael. He becomes evil and he is going to kill Kimberly when she tells him that she loves him and that she has been watching him too. Trickster comes out of him. Hayden shows up and shoots Michael.

Michael wakes up. The game wasn't real. He meets Kyle and they go to a party. He looks for Kimberly and he asks her out. She says maybe. They kiss. Michael goes to see the principal at school. He gives him Brainscan so he can look at it. Trickster appears and he laughs. The film ends with the dog bringing the severed foot from earlier to Michael's house.
This film was okay. I didn't think that it was very good really. Furlong didn't show any acting skills at all. The whole thing just didn't work for me. The idea was pretty good but the execution was not. I was disappointed. I will give this a 4/10.

Return of the Living Dead 3 Movie Review

Return of the Living Dead 3 is a 1993 horror movie sequel directed by Brian Yuzna and starring Melinda Clarke, J. Trevor Edmond and Kent McCord.

The movie begins with a guy called Curt Reynolds(Edmond) who steals a key card from his father, Col. John Reynolds(McCord) who works at a military base. He takes his girlfriend, Julie(Clarke) to see the place. They enter the facility and spy on his father who is working with others on dead bodies. they are using Trioxin gas which reanimates the corpses. They want to use them as soldiers. The problem is that they are not reliable. They want to eat brains and this keeps them from their function. Julie and Curt watch all of this. The zombie loses control and it goes wild. It bites one of the men and he turns into a zombie also. The experiment is a disaster as they shoot the reanimated corpses. Reynolds is reassigned after this. He tells Curt that they are going to leave. Curt isn't going anywhere and he and Julie ride off on his motorbike. She messes with him and he loses control of the bike and crashes. Julie is killed.

Curt brings her back to the military facility and he tries to bring her back to life using Trioxin. It seems to work. Unfortunately, a zombie has escaped also. It attacks Curt and Julie. They escape from it. Curt knows that Julie is not the same. She bites a man during a robbery at a store. Curt's father discovers that his son is on the run from the police. Julie is getting hungry. She eats a man, causing him to come back and attack the cops. The army guys catch them and they kill the zombie man. Julie and Curt run off. They end up in the sewers. Julie runs off. She ends up in the water. A man is watching her. The robbers from the store are after Julie. They end up in the sewers also. The man from the sewer meets Julie and Curt and he takes them to safety.

John goes looking for his son as some other army guy takes control of the situation. The guy from the sewer is called Riverman. He shows them his home. The robbers are following them, as are the army guys. Julie is changing. She sticks all sorts of sharp objects into her skin. She realises that is she is in pain, her craving for human brains abates. The robbers find them. They are going to kill Curt and Julie. Julie appears in her new form and she kills them all. Curt tries to stop her. Riverman is horrified. The robbers start to change. She kills Riverman. The zombie robbers are trying to get at Curt. John finds them and he sees Julie. He shoots her and she is captured. Curt visits her at the base and he sees what they have been doing to bodies. He doesn't want that to happen to Julie. She is in a cage. He lets all of the zombies out and they attack the staff. He gets bitten himself. John wants Curt to come out but he won't leave Julie. He takes her and they go into the incinerator together.

This was a pretty decent film. Compared to the previous two, it is not as good, but it's a strange one.
It is a zombie love story, which is unusual. It has some good moments and it's got some fun scenes. If you are expecting something like the other two, then this will be a surprise. I think that it is worth a look though, as it is entertaining overall. I will give it a 5/10.

Urban Legend Movie Review

Urban Legend is a 1998 horror movie directed by Jamie Blanks and starring Alicia Witt, Jared Leto, Tara Reid, Joshua Jackson, Robert Englund and Rebecca Gayheart.

The movie begins with a college student being killed by someone who was hiding in the backseat of her car. She was a student of Pendleton University. Everyone on campus is talking about it, including Natalie(Witt) and her friend Brenda(Gayheart). Their friend, Parker(Michael Rosenbaum) is telling them that one of the college buildings was the site of murders years ago. Everyone is spooked. The dean of the university doesn't want everyone to panic. He has a campus police officer called Reese Wilson(Loretta Devine) with him and they are trying to calm it all down. This doesn't sit well with a journalism student called Paul Gardner(Leto). He wants to find out all about the murder.

Natalie goes on a date with a classmate called Damon(Jackson). They are together in his car and he tries to get with her. She doesn't want to, so he goes outside to urinate. There is a killer out there and he ends up being hung from a tree above the car. Natalie sees this and she flees in terror back to the university and she tells Reese. The police come back to the spot with her, but there is no car and no Damon there. It looks like it was a prank. Her friends try to reassure her that it was a joke and that Damon will turn up. Unfortunately, Natalie's roommate gets killed. It is no longer safe. Paul digs into the history of the college and he discovers that there were actually murders there years ago. He finds that there is one person who survived it. He is called Professor Wexler(Englund).

The dean is murdered. Parker is the next to meet his demise during a party. Natalie realises that her
friend Sasha(Reid) is in danger and she goes to find her, but she witnesses the killer murdering her.
Paul and Brenda meet Natalie and they are all scared that Wexler might be the killer. But when they discover his dead body, they realise that this is not the case. Who is it? They all go in different directions and Natalie finds Brenda in the old building where the murders happened. At first, she thinks that Brenda has been caught by the killer. She gets knocked out and she wakes up to find Brenda standing over her.

She tells Natalie that she murdered those people because Natalie and Michelle had been driving one night and they had played an urban legend trick by turning off their headlights and chasing after the first car who flashed at them. Unfortunately, they hit and killed Brenda's fiancee and she is pissed!
She is going to remove Natalie's kidney when Reese shows up and stops her. There is a fight and Reese gets stabbed. Paul shows up, Natalie grabs Reese's gun and shoots Brenda. Brenda takes a dive out of the window. Is she dead? Are they ever?? Everything seems okay as Natalie and Paul drive away to get the police but Brenda pops up and tries to kill them. They crash the car and Brenda flies through the windscreen and into a river. Is she dead now??Nope. The movie ends with Brenda sitting with a different group of students who are talking about what happened at Pendleton. She tells them that the story they heard isn't true. She begins to tell them what really happened.

This film is a favourite of mine. It is similar to Scream, but I don't see that as a bad thing. There is a great cast in this. Jared Leto, Joshua Jackson, Alicia Witt, Robert Englund. The story is decent and the murders are based on various urban legends, hence the movie title. I think it's a lot of fun and I think it was one of those slashers from the 90's that really stood out- like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. If you enjoyed those, then you will like this one. I never hear that much about it and it's a shame because it is a really enjoyable slasher movie with a cast that is impressive. I love watching it every so often and I highly recommend it. I will give this one an 8/10.

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday Movie Review

Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday is a 1993 horror movie directed by Adam Marcus and starring  John D. LeMay, Kari Keegan and Steven Williams. It is the ninth movie in the Friday the 13th franchise.

A woman comes to a house in Crystal Lake. The lights go out. Jason is there and he is after her. The cops show up and they shoot him and blow him up. Jason's remains are taken to the hospital. When the autopsy is being performed, it turns out that there is brain activity. The coroner decides to take a bite out of Jason's heart and he becomes possessed by the spirit of Jason Voorhees. The new Jason takes off. A bounty hunter called Creighton Duke(Williams) is looking for Jason. He is being paid to kill him. He finds out that Jason can only be killed by a blood relative. Meanwhile, Jason is killing some teens. He is coming to get his half sister, Diana(Erin Gray) and be reborn through her body.
Diana has a daughter, Jessica(Keegan) and a granddaughter, Stephanie.

Stephanie's father, Steven(LeMay) comes to the house also and tries to stop Jason, but it is no use.
Diana gets killed and Steven gets the blame. He is thrown into jail where Duke has also ended up.
They talk and Duke tells him about Jason's link to Jessica and her daughter. Jessica is the only one who can kill Jason. Steven breaks out of his cell to save Jessica and his daughter from Jason. He goes to the Voorhees house. He looks around and finds a strange book, which Evil Dead fans will recognise as the Necronomicon and a dagger.

There is a news guy there called Robert. He is Jessica's boyfriend. He is there to film a segment about Jason being alive again and he has even stolen Diana's body from the morgue to put in his piece.
Jason is there and he possesses Robert. Jason then goes to get Jessica. Steven comes to her rescue.
He tells her what is happening with Jason. She doesn't believe it and she throws him out of her car.
She goes to the police station and tells them about Steven. Jason goes to the police station and kills everyone he sees. He wants Jessica. Steven shoots him but he can't kill Jason. Duke uses this opportunity to escape from jail. Stephanie is at a diner where she is safe. Duke takes the baby and Jessica wants her back. Duke meets her and he tells her that he needs her help to send Jason back to Hell. He gives her a dagger to kill him with.

Jason has entered a cop and he comes to the Voorhees house. Steven kills him again and the cop dies but some sort of weird creature comes out of his body and crawls away to the basement where Diana's body is. He enters her and he is reborn. Duke is the first to get killed. Jason attacks Steven next. There is a fight and Jessica grabs the dagger and she stabs Jason in the heart. This puts an end to his reign of terror and he is pulled down to Hell by the souls of his victims. Steven ad Jessica take their daughter and walk away. The movie ends with Jason's mask in the dirt. A familiar gloved hand reaches out and takes it, setting up Freddy Vs Jason which would not appear for another ten years!

I have to be honest about this film. I didn't like it. I thought that it was the weakest in the series.
The story wasn't the best and I just didn't find it worth my time. I did enjoy the inclusion of the Necronomicon and Freddy's glove. I thought they were the highlights of this film. Other that those two things, there isn't much to like about it. It's a bit of a mess. I have enjoyed all of the movies in the series up to this point, but this one I could not watch again. I don't like to say anything bad about the Friday the 13th movies as they are mostly great, but this one isn't. So, I will give it a 3/10.

Wes Craven's New Nightmare Movie Review

Wes Craven's New Nightmare is a 1994 horror movie written and directed by Wes Craven. It is the seventh movie in the franchise. It stars Heather Langenkamp, Robert Englund, Wes Craven, John SaxonDavid Newsom and Miko Hughes.

The movie begins with Heather(who plays herself) having nightmares about Freddy Krueger. Her husband, Chase(Newsom) is going away for a few days. She finds her son, Dylan(Hughes) watching a Nightmare on Elm Street and she is not happy. Her friend, Julie comes to look after her son while she is going to have an interview with Robert Englund. She gets a call from New Line Cinema. They want to meet her. They want to bring Freddy back and Wes Craven is going to direct it. She will be the star of the movie. Heather arrives home to find Dylan having a nightmare. She calls Chase and tells him to come home as she is worried about her son. Dylan uses his toy dinosaur as a guard to keep Freddy away from him.

Heather has a nightmare about Chase dying. The cops call to her and tell her her husband has died. She sees his body. There are marks on him as if from claws. At the funeral, she has a vision of Freddy. She discovers that her son knows all about Freddy Krueger. She called Englund to tell her about her son and her visions of Freddy. He is painting pictures of Freddy. It is all getting weird. She finds her son having a fit and brings him to hospital for tests. She visits Wes Craven and he tells her that Freddy is an ancient spirit. He had been held captive in the movies but now he seems to be free after the last movie. He wants to cross over into our world. He tells her that she is the only one who can defeat him. They need to make another movie to get rid of him.

Freddy is coming for her. He is more evil than he was. Dylan hasn't been sleeping and Julie is with him at the hospital. She is trying to stop him from falling asleep because of Freddy. Freddy comes for her and he kills her. Dylan disappears. Heather calls John Saxon for help. She sees her son sleepwalking out of the hospital and Freddy is with him. John turns into his character from the movie.
Heather has to become Nancy once gain to save her son. She finds herself back on Elm Street. She finds sleeping pills and she takes them. She enters Freddy's world. She fights him for her son. She and her son manage to push him into an oven and turn on the heat and destroy him once and for all. Heather discovers a movie script and she takes it with her. They escape. When they get home, she looks at the script and there is a note from Wes Craven saying that Freddy is back where he belongs and saying thanks for playing Nancy. The movie ends with Heather telling her son that the script is a story and reading it to him.

This was a really good addition to the series. I liked it a lot. I thought that it was clever and I liked the story. It was fun to see Freddy back again and the darker Freddy was interesting. He seemed less comical and more frightening which I liked. The cast were great and I enjoyed seeing some of those from the original back for this film. This was a more serious affair and it was better than some of the sequels. I guess Craven wanted to veer away from the former movies which could be a bit silly in parts and make a more serious movie with a demonic Freddy. It worked really well, I think and this was very enjoyable. I will give it a 7/10.

Retro Puppet Master Movie Review

Retro Puppet Master is a 1999 horror movie and the seventh movie in the Puppet Master series. It is directed by David DeCoteau and stars Guy Rolfe, Greg Sestero and Brigitta Dau.

The movie begins after Puppet Master 3. Toulon(Rolfe) is with his puppets and they find a bit of Cyclops, an old puppet of Toulon's. Toulon says that Cyclops was one of the first puppets he had. He tells them a story. It begins in Cairo,in 1902. A man called Afzel has stolen the secret of life and he is in trouble with a god called Sutekh, who sends his men to get it back. He is able to fight then and flee to Paris. The god Sutekh sends three mummies after him. Cut to Toulon, who is making his puppets.
A woman called Elsa(Dau) wanders is to see his puppet show.

Afzel gets beaten up by men who have been hired by the mummies. Elsa finds him and Toulon brings him into the theatre. He talks to him about the secret of life and he wants to pass it on to him. He makes the puppets come alive and Toulon believes his story. Toulon's friend dies and Afzel tells Toulon to bring him inside and he uses his blood to animate the puppets. He teaches Toulon what he knows. He warns Toulon not to waste the gift of life. Elsa is having problems with her father who does not want her to see Toulon. He gets his men to take him out to the forest and leave him there.
He threatens to send Elsa away. The mummies go to Toulon's home and they kills his friends.
Afzel kills himself so Sutekh won't get the magic.

Toulon uses his friends souls and puts them into the puppets. The mummies want to kill him, but they can't as the puppets help him. They go and capture Elsa and hold her hostage to get Toulon to come.
He takes the train and sends the puppets to find her. They do and he has to fight the mummies who want the scroll that Afzel gave to him. He manages to get rid of them and he and Elsa head off into the future, along with the puppets...The movie ends with Toulon telling the puppets that he has more stories to tell them in the future.

This was a fun sequel and it contributed to the story of the puppets. I liked the way that it set up the next movies and it is a good origin tale. It wouldn't be my favourite of the Puppet Master movies, but I enjoyed it all the same. If you enjoy the series, then this will be entertaining. I liked it anyway. I will give it a 5/10.

Frankenhooker Movie Review

Frankenhooker is a 1990 horror movie/comedy directed by Frank Henenlotter and starring James Lorinz and Patty Mullen.

Jeffrey(Lorinz) is a young man who loses his fiancee Elizabeth in a lawnmower accident(yes, an accident with a lawnmower!!!)She is torn into pieces. He keeps her head with him. He talks to it and he decides to find other body parts for her. He is going to put her back together. He cruises around looking for hookers to kill. He meets some and he tells them that he needs a few of them. He meets their pimp Zorro and he tells them what he needs. Zorro is a dodgy guy. Jeffrey brews up some super crack and he gets the girls together. They party and they take his super crack. They start to explode. Jeffrey is surrounded by body parts. Zorro is waiting for his girls downstairs. Jeffrey gathers all of the body parts that he needs and takes them back to his lab.

He reanimates Elizabeth(Mullen) with electricity. She knocks him out and wanders off alone. She gets on the subway. Jeffrey wakes up and looks for her. Elizabeth is killing men by causing them to explode. Zorro sees her and she hits him. He punches her and harms her. Jeffrey finds her and he takes her back home. He reanimates her again and this time she is Elizabeth, not the monster she was. She asks him what has happened. He tells her and she is horrified. Zorro finds Jeffrey and he kills him. All of the body parts in Jeffrey's lab come to life and form some sort of monster. They attack Zorro and drag him away. Elizabeth works on Jeffrey and she brings him back to life. He is amazed that he is back until he realises that she has made him with female body parts. He is a monster.

This is a weird movie but when you think about it, the same director made Basket Case, so you know what you are going to get! I liked this because it made me laugh. It is cheap and nasty in parts, but it is fun. There are some hilarious moments such as the exploding hookers which make this worth a look. If you enjoyed Basket Case, I think that you will enjoy this. It is not a great movie by any means, but it will make you laugh. I will give it a 4/10.

Curse of the Puppet Master Movie Review

Curse of the Puppet Master is a 1998 horror movie and the sixth movie in the series. It is directed by David DeCoteau and stars George Peck,Emily Harrison and Josh Green.

This movie begins with a man burning a puppet in the woods. Cut to Robert aka Tank who works at a gas station. He is being bullied by Joey, the local creep. A girl called Jane(Harrison) and her father Dr. Magrew(Peck) go there and they see this. Jane tells Joey to leave Tank alone. Magrew sees wooden statues that Robert has carved and he is impressed. He asks him to come and work for him.
Magrew runs a puppet show and he wants Robert to help him and make puppets. Robert sees the puppets that Magrew has in his show and he wonders how they operate without strings.  They are Toulon's puppets and they are special.

Magrew tells Robert that he got the puppets at an auction. He wants to make a special puppet and he wants Robert to carve it for him.  Robert agrees. The cops show up looking for Matt.Magrew says that he hasn't seen him. The cops don't believe him. Matt was his assistant, but he had to leave when his dad became ill.Robert starts work on the puppet and he becomes a bit obsessed with making it. Magrew tells him to put his soul into it. Robert has nightmares about turning into a puppet. Jane and Robert discover the burnt puppet. Thre is an altercation with Joey and his pals and Robert almost hurts him. Joey shows up at his house. Pinhead attacks him. He attacks him back and breaks him. He runs off when Magrew and Robert show up. Magrew sends Blade and Tunneler to kill him, which they do.

Robert fixes Pinhead. He and Jane kiss and he stays in her room. Her dad sees it and he is not happy.
He gets Jane to run an errand for him so she is out of his way. Robert is not well. The cops come sniffing around and the puppets take care of them. Jane realises that her father has sent her on a wild goose chase. She wonders what her father is up to. She goes back tot he spot where she and Rbert saw the burnt puppet and it speaks to her in Matt's voice. She realises that her dad turned Matt into a puppet and then burned him. She rushes back to save Robert but Magrew has already turned Robert into a puppet called Tank. The puppets get mad as they see that he killed Robert and they turn on him. They almost kill him. Jane comes back and sees this. Tank uses his power to kill Magrew as Jane looks on and screams.

This was an okay sequel. I didn't love it or hate it. I found that it was not as good as some of the others, but it was enjoyable all the same. This reignited the series but I have to say that it was pretty weak in my opinion. I liked the puppets, as always and I liked parts of the movie but it was a bit duller than the others. All in all, it is worth a look if you enjoy the Puppet Master movies. It is not the worst sequel, but I would say that it is not one of the best either. That's why this one gets a middle of the road score of 5/10.

Demonic Toys Movie Review

Demonic Toys is a 1992 horror movie directed by Peter Manoogian and starring Tracy Scoggins and Bentley Mitchum.

The movie begins with two children playing cards. A woman is dreaming it. Cut to Matt and his partner, Judith(Scoggins) are on a job. They are police officers. Judith is pregnant and Matt is the father. They meet two dodgy guys who are selling weapons. It is a sting but it goes wrong. Matt gets shot dead by the guys. Judith chases them herself. They flee to the Toyland warehouse and go inside. Judith chases them. There are toys everywhere. Some of them start to awaken. Judith follows the baddies into the warehouse and she arrests one of them. The security guard sends out for chicken and the delivery guy is called Mark(Bentley Mitchum). He and the security guard hear something and they go to look around.

They find Judith and the bad guy. The guard hears noises and he looks around. He gets attacked by a demonic teddy bear!A doll called Baby Oopsie Daisy talks to the guard and picks up his gun and shoots him. Mark sees it. A girl called Anne(Ellen Dunning) appears and she seems to know about the toys. She sleeps in the warehouse. The toys drag the guard to a circle. Anne tells Mark and the others that evil spirits are in the toys. Judith has a vision of a boy that she saw in her dream. Anne and Mark crawl through the vents. Judith hears a voice calling her.Judith sees the boy who leads her to a house . He wants a body to put his soul in. He has been in the warehouse for years. He tells her he needs her baby to bring him back to life. He wanted her to come to the warehouse. The toys attack Mark and Anne.

The jack in the box attacks Mark and Anne. Mark shoots it. Oopsie Daisy runs off. Anne is dead.
The kid talks to Mark. Judith wakes up on the floor. The toys are out to get them. Judith and Mark shoot at them. A huge toy turns up and chases Judith. She locks herself into a room and the creature tries to get at her. A toy soldier shows up and leads her out. She faints. The kid comes and changes into a demon. The demon sees the toy soldier who shoots him in the eye. Mark battles the huge creature. The toy soldier is also a child. He kills the demon. Judith dreams again but this time, the bad child has gone. She sees her own child. He tells her that the demon is in hell. Her son has not been born yet. He protected her. He tells her that she will see him soon. The movie ends with Mark and Judith leaving the warehouse.

This movie was not great, but it wasn't terrible either. I quite enjoyed some parts of it. I liked the toys which were good fun and it was entertaining on the whole. I think that this deserved to go straight to DVD as it is not a brilliant movie, especially when you compare it to Puppet Master. If you are looking for a great horror movie, then this isn't it but there are parts that are fun. I will give this one a 4/10.

Halloween H20:Twenty Years Later

Halloween H20 is a 1998 horror movie sequel directed by Steve Miner and starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Josh Hartnett, Michelle Williams, LL Cool J, Janet Leigh and Adam Arkin.

In Langdon, Illinois a former colleague of Dr. Loomis comes home to find that someone has been in her house. She goes next door and calls the cops. She has the kid next door, played by Joseph Gordon Levitt, have a look around the house to see if there is anyone there. Everything seems okay so she goes back inside. Her files have been rifled through and one of them is missing. The Laurie Strode file. Michael Myers turns up and he kills her. He drives away in her car. The cops investigate. Cut to Laurie Strode(Curtis) who is alive but living under the alias of Keri Tate. She still has nightmares about Myers. She lives with her son, John(Hartnett) who knows about Myers. She lives in Summer Glen, California and she is principal of Hillcrest Academy. She faked her own death.

Myers steals a woman's car and heads off to find Laurie.Janet Leigh makes an appearance in this as a secretary which is a nice touch. Laurie is involved with a teacher at the academy called Will(Arkin). It is Halloween and she is very spooked. Myers finds out where she is and he arrives at the school.
John and his girlfriend, Molly(Williams) are supposed to go on a school trip but they stay behind at the school along with their pals, Charlie and Sarah. Myers is stalking the campus. The security guard, Ronnie(Cool J) sees a truck at the gates to the school. He goes out to see what is going on but there is no one there. Myers has set it up so he can get in. Laurie sees Myers coming.

John and his friends meet up for a party. Laurie tells Will all about her experiences with Myers.
She discovers that her son did not go on the trip and freaks out. She and Will are going to look for John and the others. Charlie meets Michael and gets killed. He also kills Sarah. John and Molly look around to see where their friends went. They see Myers. They run and he chases them. Laurie meets them and they all lock themselves in. Myers knows where they are and he tries to get in. Will has a gun and he hears something. He thinks that it is Myers so he shoots him. It turns out that he has shot Ronnie by mistake. Myers kills Will.

Laurie, Molly and John run away from Myers. She tells them to go and get help. She stays to fight Myers. There is a chase and they fight. She stabs him. He falls off a balcony and she goes to look at his body. Ronnie is still alive and he stops her from stabbing him again. Myers is taken away in van. Of course, he comes back to life.  He comes after Laurie. She gets into the van and she drives it at him, pinning him. Laurie survives. She goes to look at Myers. He reaches out for her. She chops off his head.

This was a very good sequel. I really liked it a lot. I thought that the cast were great, the story was good and the whole movie was a really superior film in the series. It is great fun and there are some good scenes in it, especially the one with Janet Leigh where the Psycho theme tune plays as she approaches her car which is the same one from Psycho. I liked that. I thought that it was clever. This film also scraps Halloween Parts 3,4,5 and 6 so you have to discard those movies and forget everything that happened. All in all, this is a great sequel and one that you should watch if you like the Halloween franchise, as I do. I will give it a 7/10.

The movie ends with Toulon's ghost showing up and telling Rick that the magic is his now.

This was a pretty decent sequel. It followed on nicely from the previous one. I liked the story and the puppets were great, as always. I like these sequels and this one was fun. I think that sometimes with horror movie sequels, the quality can get worse as you go along, but this one was enjoyable and I liked it. I recommend it to fans of the series. It is worth your while to take a look. I will give it a 5/10.

The driver is called a woman called Miriam(Curtis). The man is okay but she offers him a lift. He seems to know her. She is a teacher.

He falls asleep in her house so she leaves him there. The old man opens the box he had with him. He goes upstairs and lets himself into her bedroom. He puts an insect into her nose while she is asleep.
She has weird dreams about a bird pecking her. She finds the man dying. The phone is dead. She has to walk to get the doctor. While she has gone, the old man goes to her basement and looks around. There is a well down there. There is something in there. He dies. Miriam gets back with the doctor and they see that he has gone. They find his body. His body is picked up and the doctor says that he will see her tomorrow.

Her pipes are clogged up with weird stuff. It is coming from the well. She goes down to the basement and there is a woman down there. She asks her what is going on and runs off. One of Miriam's students draws a picture of the insect that the old man inserted into Miriam's nose. Her mother doesn't come to collect her. Miriam takes the child home. The child shows her her mother's work. The insect is extinct. Miriam recognises it and she faints. The maid at the house is the same woman who was in Miriam's basement. Miriam's friend Catherine is staying with her. She gets affected by a cloth that was left by the old man. She dresses up and goes looking for sex. She has a knife with her. He ends up killing her and he says that she made him do it.

Miriam gets a call from the old man who says that he left his diary with her. He tells her to keep it for him. She gets a call about her friend Catherine. She goes to see her dead body. Catherine suddenly jumps up and attacks her. Then she cuts her own throat. Miriam is horrified. She and the doctor talk about the old man and he tells her that Moebius is dead. They go to find his body. The doctor finds the diary and there are pictures of the basement. He wanders around and sees something strange happening in the woods. It is a cult and they are performing some sort of ritual on a woman. They have the body of the old man and they take her face off and put it onto his face. He comes to life.
He is the master.

The doctor is affected by the old man's cloth and he turns evil. He tries to kill Miriam. She is taken by the cult. Moebius tells her that the cult is her family. They found her a job and a house. They have planned her life for her. She is drugged and she wakes up in the basement. She sees a bird and he pecks at her neck. She has been chosen to give birth to Satan's child. She is inseminated by an evil creature. She has the child. Miriam sees it. Moebius tells her that she can raise it if she wants. Se takes the baby and runs. She is chased but she sets fire to herself and the baby. The movie ends with Miriam still alive. Her son saved her life.

This was an interesting movie. There is lots happening and it can be a little confusing. I liked the story and it was well written. I liked the ending too as I did not expect that to happen. It is one that I had meant to watch for a long time and I am glad that I saw it eventually. It is well worth a watch and I found it entertaining and interesting. I will give this one a 6/10.
