So, this is not what I would normally do but I will make an exception with this TV show. I liked all of the first four seasons of American Horror Story, but this season was dire. I don't know if it was because the season was a love song to Gaga or that it just felt like a tribute to MTV or what, but the show really irritated me this time around. So I am just going to recap what happened in the rest of the season as I didn't really enjoy the rest of the episodes but I would like to finish it off.
Episode 6 begins with the Countess having some sort of demon baby. Liz and Tristan become lovers.
Alex and John run around after their son in the hotel. Ramona and Donovan come to the hotel to get their revenge on the Countess, but she isn't there. They are going to kill her baby, but Donovan chickens out and the baby escapes. The baby ends up in John's suitcase and goes with him to his house where it emerges. John tries to kill it, but Alex saves it. The Countess finds out about Liz and Tristan and kills Tristan.
Episode 7 nothing much happens here. We find out how the Countess became a vampire. It is pretty dull. Episode 8 John continues his search for the Ten Commandments Killer, but he doesn't get far.
He thinks that he has found the killer. He is told that he was groomed by March to follow in his footsteps. He is the killer and he had not remembered that he is the one who was going around murdering people. He kills someone else and returns to the hotel.
Episode 9 The Countess and Will get married. Ramona gets captured. The Countess leaves Will with Ramona who has been freed and she kills him..
Episode 10 Liz is upset over Tristan's death and wants to die. Iris tells him that he has to sort out his affairs before passing. He decides to find his son and make peace with him which he does. John and Alex reunite and Sally is annoyed and vows to kill John. Liz and Iris get guns and start shooting at The Countess and Donovan.
Episode 11 The Countess escapes while Donovan dies. She needs blood to survive and she turns to Sally for help.Ramona kills a guest in the hotel. John kills The Countess once and for all. She is doomed to spend eternity with March.

Episode 12-the finale. Liz and Iris are running the hotel now. There are still murders being committed by the ghosts. They hold a meeting and try to reason with the ghosts, but to no avail. They gets some medium in and make contact with Donovan who wants Iris to know that he loves her. Liz finds out that he has cancer and wants to die. The ghosts want to help him pass. They kill him and he dies. Cut to Devil's Night and John appears at the hotel to scare the medium who is filming in the hotel. He introduces her to all of the killers that he met before. They succeed in scaring her away when Ramona steps in. John has come to be with his family while he can. He died outside the hotel and he can't stay there as a ghost. His daughter comes to spend time with him. The Countess is still hanging around the hotel.
All in all, I didn't enjoy this season of American Horror Story. It wasn't great at all. I think that it was like a music video for Gaga and it was just shallow and self indulgent. I am hoping that the next season will put the series back on track.
This episode begins with Alex who is now a vampire. She uses her blood to save the life of a young boy who she was treating. The kid is released from hospital and begins eating people, including his parents. He bites a kid at school and of course, all the kids get infected and eat the teachers. Cops are called and the kids make up a story about someone coming in and killing the teachers. They are led away from the building. John is going around the bend and tells his boss about what happened in the previous episode and meeting the serial killers etc. He gets fired for being a loony.
There is a flashback about Liz and she goes into her background with Iris. Iris kills two guests who are very rude and she feeds on them. She and Liz get rid of the bodies. John finds himself in bed with Sally and can't remember anything. Alex bonds with her son and decides to stay in the hotel. This was a fairly dull episode with not much happening.
This episode begins on Halloween. Serial killer Richard Ramirez comes to the hotel and he kills someone with the help of James March. We see a flashback for Miss Evers and we find out that her son was kidnapped by a man who kept him in a cage and then killed him. Alex brings her weird son Holden back to the house, but he is not normal. He kills the family dog and she doesn't know what to do with him. She decides to bring him back to the hotel where the Countess is waiting for him. She and Alex have a standoff and she tells Alex that she took her son years ago and made him like her.
She offers to make Alex like her too so she can stay with her son.
John is wandering around the place when he sees Aileen Wuornos. He thinks that it is some sort of Halloween costume. He realises that there are more famous serial killers at a party that James March is giving. John Gacy, Zodiac and Jeffrey Dahmer are there too. John has been invited too for some reason. He is handcuffed to a chair and he watches as March brings in a young man. Dahmer is interested in him and drills a hole into his brain. John sees Sally who has brought another man to the hotel and she gives him to March. She takes John away from the awful party telling him that he drank too much. The episode ends with Alex deciding to become a vampire.
This was a so so episode. The serial killer party was good, but the rest wasn't great.
Tristan goes up to see James March to discuss reopening the hotel. March wants Tristan to make sure that the owner Will does not change the place. Tristan tells him that he is on the case. Alex doesn't understand why her daughter Scarlett is acting as if her son Holden is alive. Tristan talks to Will about the hotel and he is going to kill him but the Countess says no. John sees an injured Gabriel who was attacked by junkie Sally. He takes him to the hospital where he dies after telling John that it was Sally. John goes back to the hotel and wants to arrest her, but she disappears and he can't find her.

Iris and her son Donovan talk about leaving he hotel. He doesn't want to as he is happy where he is and they fall out. He tells her to go an kill herself and she is left devastated. Donovan goes out to feed and bumps into a woman called Ramona(Angela Bassett) who tasers him. She takes him off somewhere. Iris decides to kill herself with the help of Sally. Donovan wakes up and sees Ramona. He is tied up and she tells him that she wants to get revenge on the Countess as she killed her lover in the past. She wants to use him to get at her. He tells her that she has dumped him and Ramona lets him go.
John is served divorce papers from Alex and he is distraught. She wanders around the hotel and finds her son Holden. The Countess reveals her plans for seducing Will and marrying him for his money. Then she will kill him. Donovan arrives back and he finds his mother half dead. He feeds her his blood and brings her back. This was an okay episode. Nothing major here.
This episode begins with weird vampire kids feeding on the tourists who were trapped in the first episode. They kill her and she is wheeled off by Liz to a dump where there are plenty of other dead bodies. Alex, the wife of the detective is treating a boy who has measles. Her husband, John is having nightmares and hallucinations in the hotel. Elizabeth meets a young model called Tristan(Finn Wittrock) and she takes a fancy to him and he to her. He wanders around the hotel and goes to the penthouse looking for drugs. He meets Donovan who wants to kill him but Elizabeth stops him. He runs off and bumps into James March who is killing some poor woman. Tristan runs off and bumps into Elizabeth again.
John and Alex's daughter Scarlett sees Holden in the hotel and talks to him. She tells them about it.
Tristan and Elizabeth have sex and he becomes like her. John goes mad and he attacks Iris and demands answers about the hotel. She tells him that it belonged to James March and he used it to murder people and when he was caught, he and his maid Miss Evers(Mare Winningham) killed themselves. They are still in the hotel, but John doesn't believe it. He thinks that there is a copycat killer who is following in March's footsteps. The episode ends with Tristan and Elizabeth drinking the blood of some poor man.
This episode was okay. I'm not really too jazzed about it.
I am an avid TV watcher and obviously I don't just watch horror all of the time. At the moment, we are spoiled for choice with great TV shows. Some TV shows are as good as movies in the production and the special effects. Let me just go through my favourites at the moment.

My first one will be The Walking Dead, of course. I have followed this from the first episode way back in 2010 and it has been consistently good. I liked it from the beginning. I think that some of the characters have been so so over the years, but I like most of the core group. Rick has turned from a total wuss into a leader who is bad ass now. I enjoyed all of the storyline with The Governor and now I am looking forward to the struggle that the group will have with Negan. This is my favourite show at the moment. Next is Penny Dreadful which is a great show with a very talented cast. Eva Green, Josh Hartnett and Timothy Dalton star in this Gothic TV show which hosts a load of literary characters such as Dracula, Frankenstein, Dorian Gray and Dr Jekyll. I love the strangeness and the creepiness of this show and there are some genuinely scary moments. It is well made and it has some great story lines. If you enjoy Gothic horror, then you will love this!

The Blacklist is next on my list. This action show is great with so much happening in every episode. James Spader in the star of the show really and without him, I think that this would not work. He is great as Raymond Reddington, a criminal who is helping out the FBI for his own reasons. He is suave and cool and he seems to know the right people all of the time. He is working with Elizabeth Keen and her team at the FBI and he seems to have a reason for wanting to work with her. There is something in his past that links her with him and we haven't found that out yet. This show is very good and Spader excels as Reddington. The revival of The X Files was great fun. I watched the original series when it was out and this was a real treat for me. I loved the old gang getting back together and the stories were great. I hope that we might see more of this series as I realised how much I used to enjoy it.

Sleepy Hollow is another TV show that I enjoy. It is a modern take on the classic novel. I like the story lines in this series and Ichabod Crane played by Tom Mison is a good character. The female lead I am not so mad about. She is irritating I think but the show is not bad. It has a horror theme which I like. I will give a mention to Game of Thrones which I do follow from time to time. I am not a huge fan of this series. It started well and then I just lost interest in it. I also liked American Horror Story but the last season was so so and with Lady Gaga in it, I just didn't think that it was on the same level as the other seasons. On a better note, I am really looking forward to the Twin Peaks revival. That will be the highlight of 2017. Most of the TV shows that I like to watch are old. I prefer classic TV to most of today's shows. I think that there are some really terrible TV shows out there but these are my favourites anyway!
American Horror Story:Hotel is the fifth season of the show. I wasn't too impressed when I heard that Lady Gaga was in it. I am no fan of hers and I think that that was putting me off watching it, but I did anyway as I enjoyed the other seasons.

The first episode begins with two young women checking into the Hotel Cortez. They are greeted by a strange looking woman called Iris(Kathy Bates) who is at reception. They look around the hotel and realise that it is very old fashioned and strange. She shows them to their room and they settle in. They see visions in the hallways of a maid covered in blood and strange children(Does anyone think that the hotel looks strangely like the Overlook from The Shining? The carpet looks strangely similar and the children standing in the hallways-come on!!) They smell something rotten in the room. It seems to be coming from the mattress so they decide to cut it open. There is some weird being inside it. They run down to reception and they call the cops. Iris puts them into another room where strange things happen.

Enter John Lowe(Wes Bentley), a homicide detective. His son disappeared years ago and his relationship with his wife, Alex(Chloe Sevigny) is not good. He hears about the hotel from an anonymous call and he goes over there to see what is up,meets a strange cross dresser called Liz Taylor(Denis O'Hare) and is taken to room 64 where the two girls were killed. For some reason, he falls asleep and sees a child in his dreams and he thinks that it is his missing son.The owner of the hotel is called Elizabeth(Gaga) and she and Iris's son Donovan(Matt Bomer) bring people back to the hotel for sex and then they slit their throats and take their blood. A man checks into room 64 and he meets some sort of demon who sodomises him with a sharpened dildo. A woman called Sally(Sarah Paulson) appears to him and asks him to tell her that he loves her. The two young women are in cages and they are being given some sort of drink by Iris. Sally arrives and lets one go, but the girl is caught by Elizabeth who kills her.

The rest of the episode is about John's son who is at the hotel for some reason. Then it cuts to Iris who followed her son and Sally to the hotel years ago and saw that Sally wanted him to take drugs. Iris got mad and pushed her out of the window and killed her. Then Iris met Elizabeth who took a fancy to Donovan. John ends his marriage and moves into room 64 of the hotel.
The first episode of this was OK. I wasn't enthralled or repulsed. It was a bit confusing and, as I said, it looked like the hotel from The Shining and there were more references to that hotel in the episode too like the children standing in the corridors and the 'room 64', which reminded me of room 237 in the film. Anyway, I will wait and see how the rest of the series develops...
This episode begins with a mad Dandy going to see the fortune teller Esmeralda for a reading. She tells him positive things, so he is happy with himself after murdering his mother. He bumps into a drunk Jimmy who tells him he knows he had something to do with the killer clown and he accuses him of taking the twins. Dandy threatens Jimmy, telling him that he will get revenge on him for taking the twins away from him. The twins are actually staying somewhere else and Stanley finds them for Elsa. He tells them that he knows a good doctor who is going to come and separate them. In reality, they will both die. They change their mind at the last moment.

Meanwhile, Dell is having a breakdown of sorts. He is going to kill himself, but Desiree stops him. A very drunk Jimmy is at a Tupperware party with a group of housewives, but he is not performing for them and they make him leave. Dandy sees this and he calls to the house pretending that his car has broken down. He murders all of the women and makes it look at is Jimmy has done it. Then, he returns home to fine Regina looking for her mother again. She has a cop with her. He gets the cop to kill her by offering him one million dollars. Jimmy stumbles back to the freak show where he finds Bette and Dot in his van. They tell him that they love him and they want to be with him, but he tells them he loves someone else. They are hurt. Just then, the cops come and arrest Jimmy for the murders of the housewives.
A good episode. Dandy is one evil young man and he is getting worse!
Last time, Ma Petite was murdered by Dell and Elsa and Stanley were trying to get rid of the twins. This episode begins with the freaks finding some of Ma Petite's clothes and some bones in the forest. Ethel accuses Elsa of killing her. They have an argument and Ethel shoots her in the leg, revealing that Elsa has wooden legs. She tells Ethel that her legs were cut off during a snuff movie. A doctor Dolcefino(Danny Huston) finds her and rescues her. He makes her a new pair of legs and cares for her. Ethel is going to kill her, but Elsa gets there first. She throws a knife into Ethel's head. Sleazy Stanley helps Elsa make it look a suicide. Everyone believes it and there is a funeral for Ethel.

A new person joins the show. She is a morbidly obese woman called Ima Wiggles(Chrissy Metz). Jimmy goes to pieces after his mother's death and he even tries to have sex with Ima Wiggles. Penny and some of the others get her father to the freak show with the intention of killing him. They are going to make him suffer when Maggie sticks her nose in and tells them not to. They let him off, but with a warning never to see Penny ever again. Dandy decides that his mother has been annoying him a lot lately and he decides to kill her. He shoots her in the head after she arranges for him to see a therapist and decides to put him away for being so crazy and then he bathes in her blood.
Last time. Jimmy went to Dandy's house to collect the twins. He meets Dandy who invites him in. He looks around and realises that Dandy is a killer and he was working with Twisty. He manages to convince the girls to go back to the freak show with him and Dandy is not happy. Jimmy knows that Elsa left the twins with Dandy so that she would be rid of them. He tries to tell the others what she did. The girls cover for her and Jimmy looks stupid.

Dell gets caught at the gay bar by the sleazy Stanley. Stanley blackmails him into getting one of the freaks for him to sell. Dell tries to get Eve, but she kicks the hell out of him. He knows that the ladies will come after him now for attacking one of their own. He goes into town with Jimmy, who is his son, and they get drunk together. Ethel is not pleased and she wants Dell gone. Jimmy is not so sure. Dell thinks about killing Jimmy and giving him to Stanley, but changes his mind as he bonds with his son. Elsa talks with the twins and they tell her that they want money and they want it fast in return for their silence about what she has done. She has to agree.

Elsa and Stanley discuss how to get rid of the twins. Stanley has a plan for them and Elsa does not care as long as they are out of her life. Ethel happens to overhear their conversation and is shocked. Penny tells her had that she is going to leave home and live with Paul at the freak show. Her father is so disgusted that he has a tattooist cover her in tattoos and fork her tongue so that she looks like one of the freaks. She goes and shows Paul what her dad has done to her. Dell decides that he has no choice but to kill Ma Petite. He gives her a dress and she tries it on for him. She hugs him and he squeezes her to death. She is then shown on display in the Museum of Morbid Curiosities.
Another interesting episode. Poor Ma Petite was killed off, but that's the way it goes I guess...
Last episode,Dandy claimed another victim and showed that he has no intention of slowing down hsis killing spree. Elsa proved that she is not so good herself as she deposited Bette and Dot at Dandy's mansion to get rid of them.
This episode begins with everyone wondering what happened to the twins. Elsa brings out a wheel and she practices her knife throwing act. It is her birthday and the freaks all have gifts for her. She gets mad when she realises that they are all missing the girls and she tells them that they ran off. Meanwhile. Dandy loves the girls and he wants to marry them much to the surprise of his mother. Paul and Elsa are having an affair and they talk about love. Elsa thinks that he loves her, but he is really in love with his other woman, Penny(Grace Gummer). Her father(Lee Turgesen) is not happy about her spending time with the freaks. He doesn't want her anywhere near them.

At the freak show, Paul talks to Jimmy about Elsa and the girls. He tries to convince him that she is no angel. He wonders what she did with the twins. Jimmy is not so sure. Dandy gets mad with the twins when he discovers that they are keeping secrets from him.Maggie and Stanley have missed out on getting the twins so they turn their sights to Ma Petite. Maggie tells him that she might be able to get her out alone. Elsa gets mad when Paul challenges her about the twins and she gets everyone up and tells them how ungrateful they are. She wants one of them to go on her wheel to prove that they trust her. Paul volunteers and she throws knives at him. She throws one into his stomach and stabs him. He knows that she did it on purpose. He is taken to his tent and his condition is serious. Penny goes to see him and is amazed that no ambulance has been called. Elsa hasn't bothered.

Jimmy is wondering about Elsa. He wonders what has happened to the twins and when Maggie wants him to leave, he tells her he has something to do. He goes to Dandy's mansion and demands to see the girls. Maggie fails to kill Ma Petite. Stanley wants someone else- Jimmy. Ethel talks to Elsa and tells her that if she has harmed the twins, she will indeed kill her.
A good episode which shows Dandy becoming even more deranged and Elsa is being shown to have a very nasty streak as she strives for one last shot at stardom.
Last episode, Twisty met a grisly end and was taken by Mordrake. Jimmy is a hero in town for saving the hostages. This time, Stanley comes to Elsa telling her that he is a television agent and that he might be able to get her a show. She is not interested initially, but she changes her mind. Really, Stanley is working with Maggie to get the freaks and kill them and get paid by the Museum of Morbid Curiosities. Maggie tries to warn Jimmy and tells him that he should leave the freak show and go somewhere else.

Jimmy goes to look for Dell who is not around and he finds Desiree upset. They end up getting close and he manages to make her bleed as they are having sex. She is rushed to the doctor who tells her that she has suffered a miscarriage. He also tells her that she does not have a penis. It is an enlarged clitoris so she is all woman. She is amazed. He tells her that she can have surgery to take it away and her third breast can be removed also, making her normal. He tells her that she will be able to have a child in the future. She is delighted and wants to have the surgery.

Gloria discovers that Dandy has killed Dora and she is not pleased. She tells him to go to his room and she cleans up the mess for him. He then goes to a gay bar and picks up a young guy for money. It turns out that the young man is the lover of Dell who happens to be gay. Dandy takes him back to Twisty's van and stabs him. He cuts him up and dissolves him in acid. He goes home and Gloria tells him that she will find a way for him to satisfy his violent urges without exposing himself. Dora's daughter calls looking for her mother and Gloria puts her off. Dell returns home and finds Desiree leaving. She tells him that she is going to have surgery and be normal and have kids, but not with him. He goes to the doctor and threatens him. He tells him that he had better not do the surgery or he will kill him. Elsa takes Dot and Bette to Gloria and offers them to her for Dandy.
