Lost Season 5 Episode 4 Recap

Well,Lost has been on again and I hope you have been watching faithfully like I have been! This episode was number 4 and was called "The Little Prince".What did you think of it? Perplexed? Can't follow it? Love it? Missed the episode entirely? In the video above we have the promo for the episode and this is another good one folks! Well then,here we go with my recap/discussion of Lost so as always leave a comment if you have any thoughts about it!

Lost begins with the by now usual look back at the previous episode.So if you want to know about that one then click here! Remember Locke was told the Oceanic 6 must return to the island and Charlotte collapsed bleeding! We go to a flashback of Kate and Jack talking on the boat before they are officially found and 'rescued' and Kate is worried about Aaron who is Claire's baby.How will they explain him? Kate says that Claire was on her way to give him up for adoption and she thinks that they should say that Kate is his mother.She is clearly attached to Aaron and is upset about everyone else that they either left behind or that died.Jack appeals to Kate to lie with him and try to get the others to agree to lie also.He asks is she with him and she says that she has always been with him so it is a touching moment.

Then we go to 3 years later than that scene where Kate is with Sun and Aaron who obviously is now older than a baby.Sun asks Kate is she sure she wants to do something and Kate says yes as it was Sun's idea.Kate leaves and promises to be back soon as she leaves Aaron in Sun's care.Obviously she is off to do whatever she is nervous about.Sun then gets a package delivery of a big envelope with files and pictures of Ben and Locke when they were leaving the funeral home.In the package also is a nice box of chocolates which is always nice to get don't you agree?!!! Although under the first layer of chocolates is not a second layer! In this box of chocolates there is a handgun!!!!!! Then the title card comes up like here with that eerie music!!!

We go back to Charlotte with the rest of Locke and Faraday's group and they are concerned about what has happened to her.Sawyer thinks Faraday knows but isn't saying.Juliet sends Sawyer over to Jack and Faraday admits he thought it might happen.He says the flashes throw the body clock off and is like really bad jet lag.When Juliet asks why is it not happening to everyone else Faraday says he does not know but thank god it is not! Now we go back to Kate as she is in a downtown office meeting with the lawyer that wanted blood samples from Aaron.He will not say who he represents but Kate offers him a deal.She will give him the blood samples if she can meet whoever he represents.The Lawyer says he will ask but he knows the client will not agree as he has a court order compelling her to prove she is Aaron's mother.His client though wants the exchange of custody to go quietly.When she asks what exchange he says she knows what he means.He says to Kate that she will definitely lose the boy! The Lawyer looked very familiar and I was trying to remember what I saw him in before.Then Amanda told me it was the TV series My So Called Life.Yes she is right of course and his name is Tom Irwin.That series was very short lived and had Claire Danes in it and was very good! Surely you liked it too!!!

Anyway we go back to Locke and Sawyer talking and Locke says that they have to go back to the Orchid as the flashes all started when they were there.The Orchid was the greenhouse area if you are not sure what he meant.Locke says that they should use the zodiac raft on the beach and cut around the horn as it is a long way to walk.He says that he is not exactly sure what to do there but as Ben used it to get off the island, Locke could do the same thing and bring the Oceanic 6 back and the people who blew up on the boat!! Charlotte then wakes up and is a bit dizzy but she is OK.Sawyer agrees with Locke that they need to go to the Orchid.We cut to Jack and Sayid in the hospital where Sayid is waking up after the tranquilisers.Jack gets called out of the room by a doctor who says that Jack should not be there as he was suspended.Hurley then rings him from LA County lockup and says Ben cannot get him there and he is safe!! Then he hangs up just as Ben walks into the hospital and meets Jack.Back in the room with Sayid, a doctor or male nurse walks into the room and says he has meds for Sayid.Sayid smells a rat and gets out of the way just as this impostor fires yet more tranquilisers at him!! A fight ensues and Sayid gets the upper hand choking him and asks who is is working for.The impostor says the address is in his pocket and then Sayid tranquilises him.When Jack and Ben come into the room Jack realises that it is Kate's address!!

He rings Kate to see if she is OK and she is staking out the lawyer to see where he goes.She tells Jack where she is and Jack arranges to meet her there.As Sayid does not trust Ben, he goes with Ben as he tries to get Hurley out.They all arrange to meet up later at the marina where everyone seems to meet in TV shows!! Must be very busy there! Back with Locke and Sawyer's group they see a light shining up into the sky.Locke realises what it is but just demands all to keep moving.Do you know what the light is? Well, It is the light from the first series when Locke was banging on the hatch demanding a sign and the light shone up from the hatch.Remember Desmond was down the hatch and turned on the light so we know that Locke and Sawyer's group have now travelled to that time period.Then they all hear a woman screaming and Sawyer goes alone to investigate.He sees Kate helping Claire give birth to Aaron and he looks at Kate realising how much he misses her.Then there is a big flash as they all time travel again and Locke asks Sawyer what he saw.Sawyer says it doesn't matter as it is gone now!!

We cut back to Kate as Jack arrives to meet her just as the Lawyer leaves.They set off in pursuit of him as we cut back to Locke and Sawyer's group.They both now realise what time they were just in and Sawyer says why didn't Locke just go to himself in that earlier time to save him all the trouble.Locke says he needed it to get to where he is now.Miles then admits to Faraday that he has had a nosebleed too just as they all arrive back on the beach where the camp was.There is no one there and the Zodiac is gone.There are 2 long canoes on the beach so they decide to use one of them to go to the Orchid.As they are paddling along they suddenly are getting shot at by a group in the other canoe! As they paddle everything flashes as they time travel again.Now they are at night where it is lashing rain!!

Jack and Kate follow the Lawyer as he meets a woman who is revealed to be Claire's mother!! Jack goes to speak to her but realises that she knows nothing about Aaron and just wants her settlement from Oceanic for the death of Claire.Then Ben and Sayid pull into a car park where they meet the Lawyer who says there is no case against Hurley and that he should be free the next morning.Ben says to Sayid that the Lawyer is his lawyer!! We go back to Locke and Sawyer's group as they pull their canoe up on a beach and relax after the paddling that they did.Sawyer talks to Juliet about seeing Kate and Claire but Juliet now has a nosebleed! Charlotte spots wreckage on the beach and it has french writing on it.She says that it probably just happened.We go to a scene where french people are talking in a lifeboat and they see a body floating on a piece of wood.They pull him into their lifeboat and he is revealed to be Jin!!!

Now we go to the Marina where everyone in movies and TV meets! Kate pulls up in her car with Jack and asks him why he called her that specific day.Jack produces the note that Sayid found on the impostor with her address on it and explains how he got it.Then Ben and Sayid arrive and Kate is very scared when she sees Ben.Jack tries to assure her Ben is there to help and that everyone needs to be together.Kate accuses Ben of trying to take Aaron away but Jack says no he is not.Then Ben says yes he is!!!!!! He is trying to get Aaron as he is not Kate's son so he knows Kate is not his mother.Looking on at all them talking is Sun in a car with Aaron but no one has seen her there.She gets out of the car as she grabs the gun that was sent to her.

We cut back to Jin with the French people and it is now daytime and has stopped raining.They ask where Jin came from but he is unsure how he got there.A woman gives him a drink of water and asks Jin his name.He tells her it is Jin and she says hers is Danielle Rousseau as the credits roll! She is the Frenchwoman who said she came with scientists and when Jin meets her she is young so we know they are all now far back in time!! Did you like this episode? Lost - Season 5 Episode 3 "Jughead" Recap/Discussion

The latest Lost episode has just been on called "Jughead".Did you see it? Given up? Still glued to the TV screen? Well I am! If you want to know what happened read on and let me know what you think of the episode by a comment if you wish! If you need to know about Episodes 1 and 2 click here! Bear in mind this show is very complex as I try to explain what happened.I am assuming that you more or less know what has been happening up until now!

In this episode Desmond, having just woken from his sleep either just remembered that he met Daniel Faraday or dreamed it but he now wants to find Faraday's mother.Faraday having knocked on the hatch and told Desmond to find his mother in the future.But Faraday had time travelled just after telling him! Desmond in the present time has had a baby with Penny but now resolves to track down Faraday's mother.Then we go back to Faraday's group who are now in the past and looking to meet Locke,Juliet and Sawyer at the creek.They shouted this meeting point when they were being attacked by the flaming arrows in the last episode.As they walk to the creek, Charlotte is looking worse by the minute as she says she has dizziness and double vision.Faraday tries to reassure her that she will be fine.Unfortunately for Faraday two of his group get blown up by explosives that were hidden by tripwires in the jungle.Good news for us is that they were two guys that no ones knows so that's OK! It is like the old Star Trek episodes when you knew the guy who never opened his mouth would always die first!

The explosion draws in a group of Others who hold the group at gunpoint! They think Faraday is here to attack them with his group. Meanwhile in present time Desmond argues with Penny that he was not dreaming about meeting Faraday and says he has to find out about Faraday's mother but it will all be finished in the one day.Back to Faraday's group, the Others want to know where the rest of the group are but he does not know as they were split up.Miles says maybe they were blown up by all the explosives the Others planted.The leader of the Others holding them at gunpoint accuses Faraday's group of planting them.So who put the explosives there is a mystery!!

Now we cut back to Locke,Sawyer and Juliet who are holding two men prisoner.When Sawyer threatens to kill them they speak Latin to each other.Juliet reveals she knows what they said as she speaks Latin also and that the two men are Others!! (Cue dramatic music!) We go back to Faraday's group as they are being marched through the jungle to the Other's Camp.Faraday sees some of the Others have their hands bandaged up from severe burns and Miles senses that they have just walked near the recent graves of US military soldiers! He somehow knows 3 were shot and one died of radiation poisoning.At the Camp,the leader of the Other's comes out of his tent and is revealed to be Richard! Richard tells Faraday that he assumes he has come back for his Bomb!!!!













In present time,Desmond is at Oxford University trying to meet Faraday but there is no record of him at all there! He sneaks into Faraday's old Physics lab but everything is covered in sheets and has not been used in a while.A workman catches him there and tells him that Faraday was rumoured to be trying to send rat's brains back in time.The workman says he will not tell anyone Desmond broke in if Desmond says that all he found was rubbish to his friends.As Desmond is leaving the workman says Faraday did something to a girl so Desmond heads off to her to find out more.Back in the past Richard tells Faraday that they started attacking them first.He thinks they are with the US military but Faraday guesses that the bomb is unstable by the bandaged hands of some of Richards men so he offers to stabilise the bomb and render it safe.As Richard thinks he might just detonate it, Faraday professes his love for Charlotte and would not want to see her hurt so Richard knows he is not on a suicide mission.

As Locke's group heads to the creek,one of the Others says that Locke's friends are dead as the Others heard that they were heading for the creek and would have cut them off and killed or captured them.Juliet appeals to one of them to take them to the Camp and he gives directions to it just before the other man kills him and runs away.Locke does not shoot him even though he could and when asked why by Sawyer, Locke says because he is one of Locke's people!! In present time, Desmond arrives at the girls house that the workman talked about and meets her sister.The girl though is in a catatonic state being spoon fed and her sister says Faraday abandoned her.Charles Widmore is revealed to be Faraday's benefactor funding his research and it was he who pays for the girls care.

In the past,Faraday tells Charlotte that he was not lying when he said he loves her but gets taken away by Richard who tells him that they had to kill 18 members of an army battalion a month ago.The Others said to them to leave the Island but they would not leave and Richard says he answers to someone but does not say who.Just then the man who escaped from Locke's group runs into the Camp and says not to trust Faraday.Richard says he might have led Locke's group to the camp but the man says Locke is an old man and would not know the Island as well as him.Of course we cut to Locke who is looking down at the Camp!!!!!!!!

Locke says he is going down to talk to Richard while Juliet and Sawyer rescue Faraday.Faraday meets the Bomb which is up on a wooden scaffold while an Other Woman holds a gun on him.The bomb is clearly labelled "Jughead".He sees that there is a crack in the casing and says to her that the bomb needs to be buried.She says that it might still explode but he says that it will not as he is from the future and the bomb has not exploded!! Sawyer and Juliet arrive and they take the gun off the woman.

Back with Desmond, he bursts into Charles Widmore's office and demands the address of Faraday's mother.Widmore demands to know is his daughter Penny safe as he has not seen her for 3 years.Desmond does not answer but demands Faraday's mother's address again.Widmore gives it to him but says once Desmond meets her to get out of it and keep Penny safe.Back in the past, Locke strolls into the camp and demands to talk to Richard.Richard does not know him as they have not met in this time yet.But when Locke says Jakob sent him Richard knows that Locke is not a danger to him.The man that escaped wants to kill Locke but Richard takes his gun away as he calls him "Widmore". Locke asks him if his name is Charles Widmore and he says whats it to Locke.Locke says nothing but "pleased to meet you" as he realises that the man is Charles Widmore when he was very young!!!

Desmond is now with Penny and wants to forget about it all but she implores him to just finish what he started and that she will go to Los Angeles with him where Faraday's mother is. Once more back to the past and Locke demands to know how to how to get off the Island from Richard.Locke knows he has to get off the island to bring the Oceanic 6 back.He gives Richard the compass that Richard gave him in another time and says to Richard that Locke is now the Leader.Richard finds this hard to believe as the process to pick a leader starts very young so Locke asks him the year.Richard says the year is 1954 and Locke says he will be born in 2 years and that Richard should go see him.(This ties in with a flashback of John Locke in earlier episodes where Richard came to see him when he was young)

Locke appeals to Richard to tell him how to get off the Island just as Locke,Sawyer,Juliet,Miles,Faraday and Charlotte all time travel again!! The Camp disappears along with all the Others and Richard.Faraday runs over to Charlotte and is relieved to see her OK and unties her from ropes.She gets dizzy and her nose bleeds as she collapses to the ground.The episode ends with Faraday cradling the unconscious Charlotte in his arms!!!!

This was a good episode again that answered a few questions and made a few things clearer for me anyway! The time traveling is a good way to flesh out the storyline and is a different way than the usual flashback.Story threads are tying into each other as we realise Widmore was an Other on the Island and we now know why Richard visited Locke when he was very young.Desmond is very close to meeting Faraday's mother who I am guessing will be Miss Hawking played by Fionnula Flanagan.The bomb might have a big part to play in the end of the whole series with it blowing up the whole island! That is just my guess! Of course it might never be referred to again as you never know with Lost! Now we wait for episode 4! What did you think of Episode 3?

Lost - Season 5 - Episode 1 and 2

Well..............It is back! One of my favourite TV shows is back on TV and episode 1 and 2 recently aired.What did you think of it? Do you still watch it? Maybe you used to and now you don't? Maybe you are still a hardcore fan like I am! It felt so long waiting around for season 5 that I had to rethink about what had happened in season 4.The two new episodes were called "Because you left" and "The Lie". If you are still waiting to see these episodes and do not want to know about them then you better stop reading!!!!! The Oceanic 6 that got off the island have not gone on to live their lives quietly! Kate is being asked questions about the baby,Hurley is crazy (well we knew that before!) Sun wants to kill Ben,Sayid is doing dangerous work and Jack wants to get back to the island after spending four seasons trying to get off! Meanwhile Ben is trying to round everyone up and take Locke back to the island! Locke was seen at the end of season 5 in the casket but is he really dead? My theory is that it is a scheme between him and Ben to get everyone to go back.He might be still alive as after all he just LOOKED dead! An interesting video here is of the alternate endings that they had for season 4.



As we all know the island was moved at the end of season 4 and Locke is now time travelling by jumping around in time. At the very end of episode 2 we see Ben talking to Miss Hawking.She is played by Fionnula Flanagan who is Irish by the way.Not that it matters! But she is the one who was seen in Lost before talking to Desmond.Yes the guy who says "Brother" in every sentence! Try it yourself! It is a fun way to talk! Miss Hawking tells Ben that he has 70 hours to get the Oceanic 6 back to the island otherwise...........the show gets cancelled! No,really she says "God help us all!" That sounds okay but before that Hurley gave himself up to police as they think he killed people.Hurley would do anything to stay away from Ben(Pictured) as Sayid told him not to trust him.But Sayid is in Hurley's parents house knocked out on the couch.He was hit by a tranquiliser dart when he killed the guys that Hurley is accused of killing.Yes my head hurts too when I think about all this!!! If you missed the episodes then you hopefully are a bit more informed but bear in mind the show is as complex as it sounds!


Well, there were 2 episodes to wet your appetite! Did you like them? I did as it explained about the island moving and gave us some more information.As usual though it gave us more questions too!! Will the 6 get back to the island? Is Locke really dead or just looking like he is? If he is dead will the island bring him back to life? I have always loved Lost even when people gave up on it for being complex.Some of the so called "boring" episodes were necessary so we learn about each character and what path he or she took to get to the island.If you do not know, there is a definite story arc in place and it will all be going someplace.It's not just written on the fly! The writers know the full idea of where it is going so keep watching!!
