The Wolf of Snow Hollow Movie Review

Trailer here.

The Wolf of Snow Hollow is a 2020 horror movie directed by Jim Cummings and starring Jim Cummings, Riki Lindhome and Robert Forster.

The movie begins with a couple who are staying at a cabin. The guy pisses off some of the locals. He finds his girlfriend dead. The local sheriff, Hadley(Forster) is on the case, along with Marshall(Cummings) and Robson(Lindhome). Robson talks to some of the locals, but they deny having seen or done anything. The police wonder what happened to the girl. It looks like it might be an animal, maybe a wolf. Marshall isn't so sure. He thinks that it's a man. The cops visit the boyfriend before he leaves. Some of the locals report seeing some sort of wolfman. A local woman gets killed by the werewolf creature. John is finding it all hard to believe. He worries about his daughter. He starts drinking, which is bad as he is an alcoholic.

The werewolf strikes again, this time at John's daughter. She escapes, but this makes John go off the rails and he drinks himself into oblivion. The Sheriff dies. John straightens himself out. He begins calling to some of the suspects and returns their belongings that were in evidence. He calls to a strange guy who is a taxidermist. The guy invites him in for a cup of coffee. John realises that there is something off about the guy. He begins to put two and two together and he knows that this is the killer.
He tries to escape but the guy stabs him. The man dresses up in a werewolf suit and prepares to go out and kill someone else. John chases him. He is in a bad way. Julie comes along and she shoots the werewolf guy. John manages to finish him off. The movie ends with Julie being the new sheriff.

This was a decent film. I wasn't crazy about the comedy elements in it, though. I don't think that it worked very well here. The story was pretty good and there were some good moments. I didn't have a problem with the cast and overall, this is worth a look. I will give it a middle of the road 5/10.

Outback Movie Review

Trailer here.

Outback is a 2019 Australian thriller directed by Mike Green and starring Lauren Lofberg and Taylor Wiese.

The tale begins in Sydney. Wade(Wiese) and his girlfriend, Lisa(Lofberg) get a car and are going to drive around Australia. They are arguing. They visit a beach and Wade gets stung by a jellyfish. Lisa wants to go to Ayers Rock. They drive to the outback and their GPS sends them into the middle of nowhere. They are in the desert. Lisa wants to head back to the main road but Wade says that they are going on. The GPS keeps rerouting them and they get lost. They find time for some chatting about their relationship while this is happening. They decide to walk to a ridge to see if they can spot a way out. It begins to get dark so they can't drive until the next morning.

Wade's leg is getting worse from the sting. They walk along for a while, but then have to rest. Lisa gets stung by a scorpion. Wade sees a plane and he goes off to get some help. Lisa wakes up and she is alone. They both search for each other. Wade makes his way back to the car but it doesn't work. Is anything going to go right for these two?? Wade wanders around in the heat, looking for Lisa. Lisa makes a video on her phone . Wade becomes sicker as time goes on. His leg is in a bad way. He starts to cough up blood so you know his time is running out. Lisa finds him and he tells her that the battery is dead in the car. He tells her that she should go to the car for shelter. She doesn't want to. Wade becomes very sick and he passes out. Lisa has to drink his urine to survive. She makes her way to the car but there is a snake in it. She has to come out. On the sixth day, she is found by a woman. Wade has died. Lisa makes it out of there alive.

This film is pretty simple. There isn't a lot to the story, but it is worth a look. The outback is a scary place if you get stranded and this story revolves around that. The characters are okay but you don't really care that much if they survive. At least, I didn't. I liked the idea of it and it was entertaining so I will award this one a 5/10.

Movie House Massacre Movie Review

Trailer here.

Movie House Massacre a.k.a. Blood Theatre is a 1984 horror movie directed by Rick Sloane and starring Mary Woronov, Jenny Cunningham and Rob Roy Fletcher.

The film begins with a movie theatre that is closing. Someone sets fire to it and the theatre clears out. The same person has a knife and he stabs the ticket girl and he sets her alight. There are more people in the theatre who are dead. There is a $25,000 reward to anyone who will open the theatre. A chain called Spotlite Theatres have taken it over. The owner is called Dean Murdock(Fletcher). Adrian(Andrew Cofrin) is the manager.  Murdock and his secretary Miss Blackwell(Woronov) show some people around the theatre. They are going to clean it up and get it working once again. He offers one person a reward for good work. Jennifer(Cunningham) is one of those people working in the theatre. Her pals show up to meet her, but they end up getting killed by an unknown assailant.

An employee called Selina goes into the theatre causing trouble. Miss Blackwell takes her outside.
Adrian and the others find old films. They look at them and see a film from the night of the massacre .
Adrian is alone when he sees a typewriter typing on its own. It says that the theatre could be his. All of the doors close in the theatre. Employees are killed by a strange man lurking in the theatre.  Murdock is beaten up and his movies are snatched. More people die as the killer goes mad. He sees Jennifer. She reminds him of a lost love. He is the owner of the theatre who went crazy years ago and killed some people. He hugs her and she takes the opportunity to stab him. The movie ends with the police being called and Miss. Blackwell deciding to leave her job.

This film wasn't great. I did like the setting of a cinema. The acting wasn't good and it was really cheap.
I did enjoy parts of it, but there were other parts that just weren't very interesting. So, this is worth a look if you are a fan of 1980's slashers but just don't expect too much. I am giving this one a 4/10.

Destroyer Movie Review

Trailer here.

Destroyer is a 1988 horror movie directed by Robert Kirk and starring Lyle Alzado, Deborah Foreman and Anthony Perkins.

Ivan Mosler(Alzado) is a killer on death row. His time has come to die. He is going to the electric chair. As he is being electrocuted, the power goes out. He comes back to life and he kills the priest who is with him and the prison guard. Cut to a writer called David(Clayton Rohner), who is making a movie called Death House Dolls. The director is Robert Edwards(Perkins). Susan(Foreman) is a stuntwoman standing in for Sharon(Lannie Garrett), the star of the movie. There is a film crew and a janitor guy called Russell(Tobias Anderson) who is keeping an eye on the old prison where they are shooting. The old warden of the prison shows up. He is all riled up. He wants to talk to the film crew. Susan finds an old doll with a message on it.

The warden talks to David about the prison. He isn't too happy about them filming there. David is curious about what happened at the prison. Robert tells him to stop asking questions. The warden ends up getting killed. Russell sees the body. He turns a blind eye. A police officer shows up and he asks Russell about the warden. The prison is the same one that Ivan Mosler was in. He is still there. He is the one who is leaving messages. He has an eye for Susan. Russell leads the cop down to Ivan's lair. Ivan kills him. Sharon decides to quit the film.  She gets drunk and ends up meeting Ivan. He chases her. Russell tries it on with her and she fights him off.  He ends up falling. Ivan kills her. Susan is scared when she sees another message.

David talks to a former inmate of the prison. He tells David about Ivan Mosler and what happened.
He says that Ivan is still half alive. Russell is Mosler's dad. Robert gets fried in the electric chair.
Mosler shows up pretending to be a police officer. Susan realises it and she runs away. Mosler chases her. David looks for her. There is a fight when he runs into Ivan. He gets knocked out. Susan manages to electrocute Ivan but he isn't dead. Susan and David reunite. They try to escape. Mosler comes back yet again. They pour gasoline over him and Susan sets him alight. Russell dies also. Susan wakes up in hospital where she sees Mosler but it is just a bad dream. She survived and so did David.

I watched this film because Anthony Perkins was starring in it. He played his part well and made this better than it was. The film was entertaining in parts but some of the acting was dire. Overall, this is a fun slasher movie, but nothing special. I will give it a 5/10.

Necromancy Movie Review

Trailer here.

Necromancy is a 1972 horror movie directed by Bert I. Gordon and starring Pamela Franklin, Michael Ontkean, Orson Welles and Lee Purcell.

The movie begins with a woman who wakes up in hospital. She is looking for her baby. The woman is called Lori(Franklin), and she is at home now. It turns out that her baby was stillborn. She is married to Frank(Ontkean). He has a new job in a place called Lilith, working in advertising. They move there. His new boss is called Mr. Cato(Welles). He is a bit of an oddball. Lori isn't that happy to be moving to Lilith. They get into a car accident and the other car bursts into flames. The cops come and Lori takes a doll from the scene.  Their car breaks down and Frank has to walk into town to get gas. Lori sees a funeral but when she looks again, it has disappeared. Frank gets the gas and they go to Lilith. They go to Mr. Cato's house for dinner. He is into the occult. Lori is spooked by him.  He gives her a book to read. It is about witchcraft.

Lori wants to leave Lillith, but Frank doesn't. A woman called Priscilla(Purcell) tells Lori that Cato owns the town and all of the people in it. Lori is disappointed when Frank says that they have one week left before they can leave. She starts to have visions of devil worship and weird things happening. She sees a young boy. She tells the doctor, Jay(Harvey Jason) all about it, but he doesn't seem to believe her. She sees the young boy again and she asks Priscilla about it.  Priscilla doesn't know what she is talking about. Lori goes to visit Cato and informs him that she doesn't have any interest in witchcraft. He tells her that he is into necromancy. He wants to bring his son back from the dead. He knows that she has power and he wants it. Jay asks her and Frank to become members of their group. They practice witchcraft. Lori is not happy and she has horrific visions.

She looks for Priscilla and they talk but Priscilla and Jay tell her that she won't be able to leave town. Frank disappears, making everything even stranger. Lori burns the doll that she found at the car crash site. She sees herself becoming a witch. Priscilla calls her to meet and says that she will help her leave. She tells her that Frank is a witch. When Lori arrives at Priscilla's, she finds her dead. The weirdness continues. The boy appears once again and he takes her to a field where she sees Cato and his cronies at his son's grave. They are trying to bring him back to life. She gets shoved into the coffin instead. It's another dream. She wakes up at home with Frank. The events of the movie start to replay from the start. Lori is scared and she screams as she realises that everything that happened in Lillith will happen in the future and what she experienced was a premonition.

This was a weird, jumbled up movie. The ending was odd. It was a strange film , to be honest. That doesn't make it a bad film, but it wasn't thrilling, by any means. The cast were decent. It was fun to see Michael Ontkean in this. I will always think of him as Sheriff Truman! Orson Welles somehow ended up in this which strikes me as odd. He must have needed the money, I suppose. Anyway, this was a strange offering, but I think that it will satisfy fans of occult movies. It kept me watching, so I will give it a 5/10.

The Video Dead Movie Review

Trailer here.

The Video Dead is a 1987 horror movie directed by Robert Scott and starring Roxanna Augesen and Rocky Duvall.

The film begins with two delivery men who drop a television off to a Mr. Jordan, who is a writer. He takes it inside and plugs it in. There is a weird zombie movie on it. He switches it off, but it comes back on again by itself. He tries plugging it out but the same thing happens. The zombies emerge from the TV and they kill him. The two delivery men come back. It turns out that it was a mistake. The TV was meant to go to the paranormal institute. It is left in the house as the body of the writer is found. Three months later, the house has been sold. A teenager, Zoe(Augesen) and her brother Jeff(Duvall) are moving into the house before their parents arrive.

A  man called Joshua Daniels(
Sam David McClelland) calls to the house. He is looking for a package that was delivered there. A TV. The TV is in the attic. Jeff hears a woman talking and calling him. He finds the TV and brings it down. Jeff meets a local girl called April(Vickie Bastel). Her dog runs off and they look for it. April tells Jeff about the writer and his death. They discover the dog's body. Jeff turns on the TV and he sees a weird zombie movie. A woman shows up on the screen. She talks to Jeff and then she appears out of the TV. She goes back into it and she gets killed. A man talks to Jeff on TV and shows him that the woman is a zombie. He tells Jeff that they look human. He is called the 'Garbage Man'. He gets rid of the zombies. He says that Jeff is in danger and warns him to lock the TV in the basement. He tells him to get a mirror and put it next to the screen. Jeff does it. Something tries to attack him and he chops its hand off and puts it in a bag and throws it into the garbage disposal.

The zombies are out and about and they converge on April's house. They kill her father. The zombies go to other house's too and they kill more people. The police come to April's house. Jeff goes to see what's going on. Joshua Daniels calls to the house and Jeff lets him in. He tells Joshua what happened. Joshua says that he tried to destroy the TV but he couldn't, so he packed it up and tried to get rid of it. Zoe doesn't know what is going on. She thinks Joshua is crazy. April is abducted by one of the undead.
Zoe sees it and she becomes a believer. Daniels needs mirrors to keep the zombies away. They hang them outside the house. Jeff and Daniels decide to go and get the undead pests. They go into the woods and attack. April is dead. They try and get rid of all of the zombies. They can't kill the female one and she ends up wounding Daniels. She chases Jeff with a chainsaw. Joshua dies and Jeff tries to battle the female flesh muncher alone. He decapitates her but she kills him before she dies.

The zombies rise once again. Zoe waits for Jeff and Joshua. The zombies have the house surrounded. She goes out and talks to them. She invites them inside. She gives them food. She leads them to the basement. They realise what she is doing and they start to eat each other and return to the TV. The movie ends with Zoe's parents coming to visit her in an institution. They have brought the TV with them. Zoe screams when the movie comes back on the screen and her fate is sealed...

I liked this. It is meant to be a comedy so you don't take it seriously at all. It was a lot of fun. The zombies were pretty decent in it also. I liked the idea of the TV and the zombies within. There were some good scenes and it was enjoyable overall. It is worth watching for some 80's fun. It kept me entertained and I think it will pass ninety minutes nicely. I will give it a 5/10.

Evil Laugh Movie Review

Evil Laugh is a 1986 horror movie directed by Dominick Brascia Jr. and starring Kim McKamy, Tony Griffin, Jody Gibson and Howard Weiss.

The movie begins with a man called Mr. Burns(Weiss) who is in an old house. There are new tenants moving into the house. A doctor called Jerry is first to arrive. He looks around the house but there is someone else there. A killer. Jerry gets stabbed and his heart is cut out by a laughing killer. Later, three interns arrive at the house to meet Jerry. They are Barney, Johnny and Mark. Two women are coming also. They are Tina(Gibson) and Connie(McKamy). Their car breaks down. Another two people are on the way to the house. They are Sammy(Griffin) and Betty. Sammy is a friend of Jerry's. Everyone wonders where Jerry is as he was meant to meet them. Mr. Burns greets them. He doesn't know where Jerry is either. Everyone is going to clean up the house.

Jerry's car isn't there. They find a tape with weird stuff on it. They wonder what has happened to Jerry.
They find Jerry's heart but think that it is a calf heart and they decide to cook it and eat it. A cop called Chief Cash arrives to ask them about a delivery boy who has disappeared. The unseen killer has disposed of him. He and his deputy get killed as the killer is lurking around. Connie tells the group that the house used to be a foster home. There was child abuse in the house and a man called Martin was accused of being a paedophile. Martin didn't do it but his dad hung himself. Martin decided to kill himself and the kids. His body was never found. There are stories about the ghost of Martin haunting the place.

Barney doesn't like the place and he wants to leave. He starts freaking out. The killer disposes of Sammy. Mr. Burns shows up to fix the boiler. Barney asks him for a lift into town. Mr. Burns meets the killer and that's the end of him. Barney looks for Burns and he sees the killer running away. He gets locked into the basement. Mark and Tina are the next to die. Johnny gets hit over the head and tied up. The killer put his head into the microwave and kills him. Connie finds her dead friends. She has a gun. The killer finds her and she shoots him. It turns out that it is not a him, but a her. Mr. Burn's wife is the killer. Martin was her son and she isn't happy about people being in the house. Barney grabs the gun and he shoots her. She manages one more laugh before she dies. The movie ends with Connie being at her home and hearing noises. She thinks it's a killer but it is just Barney messing around.  She stabs Barney and laughs.

This isn't the best film. It is middle of the road. There were some fun moments, but overall, I think that this is nothing amazing or original. The cast aren't particularly good and the ending makes little sense. It is worth a look if you enjoy 1980's slashers, as I do. I will give it a 5/10.

Amityville Dollhouse Movie Review

Trailer here.

Amityville Dollhouse is a 1996 horror movie and the eighth movie in the Amityville series. It is directed by Steve White and stars Robin Thomas, Starr Andreeff, Lisa Robin Kelly and Lenore Kasdorf.

The film starts with a family who are moving into a new house. A man called Bill Martin(Thomas) has built it. He has his wife Claire(Andreeff), sons Jimmy, Todd and daughter Jessica. Bill finds an unusual dollhouse in the shed. It looks like the Amityville house. He plans to give it to his daughter. Bill finds that the house is getting really hot. He finds a fire burning in the living room. Strange things start to happen in the house. Bill gives the dollhouse to Jessica for her birthday. Aunt Marla(Kasdorf) and Uncle Tobias show up. Marla feels very uneasy when she looks at the dollhouse. Bill starts to have dreams. Marla and Tobias talk about the dollhouse. They know that there is something wrong with it. Bad things happen around the house such as Jimmy's mouse getting killed in the dollhouse and  Bill's nose starting to bleed.

Jimmy starts to see his dead father who talks to him. He is telling Jimmy that Bill is bad. Claire gets spooked when she sees a picture of Todd come to  life. Todd has his girlfriend Dana(Kelly) in the shed with him when an insect that was encased in a glass case breaks out and bites her. It flies into Todd's ear. Bill manages to pull it out. Everyone is unhappy with all of the bad things that have been happening. Marla talks to Jessica about the dollhouse. She thinks it's magical. Claire finds herself becoming sexually attracted to Todd, her stepson. Jimmy is seeing his dead father digging a grave out in the yard. Jimmy is scared of him as his dad wants him to kill Bill. We discover that Bill's parents died in a fire and Bill had a dream about it before it happened. He has been dreaming that he is going to lose his family. Dana is in the house with Todd when she ends up on fire. She has to be taken away in an ambulance.

Jessica sees a door opening
in the attic in her dollhouse. She finds bloody books. Marla and Tobias have a figure from the dollhouse. It comes to life and starts to wreck their house. They are into the occult and magic and they stab the figure. An insect comes out of it. Back at the house, Bill continues to have bad dreams. Jimmy is scared when his dad threatens to get Bill. He tries to stop his dad. Bill sees the dead dad. He ties up Jimmy and Claire. Bill gets locked into the garage where his car starts to emit carbon monoxide. He passes out. Tobias happens to come to the house and he saves Bill from being gassed. He and Bill get back into the house and they confront the Jimmy's dead father. They burn the figure that Marla took from the dollhouse and he dies. Dana appears and tries to kill Todd. Claire gets him out. Bill and Tobias look for Jessica. Bill jumps into the fireplace into a portal and Tobias follows. They find Jessica. They see demons and they need to escape. Tobias sets up protection for them and they open a door and they are in the dollhouse. They rescue Jessica, but Tobias gets grabbed by the demons and he can't go. He tells Bill and Jessica to get out and burn the dollhouse in the fireplace.  The family pile into their car as the dollhouse burns and their real house burns also.

This is another Amityville movie that doesn't have much to offer. I have made my way through seven movies before this one and by now, my patience with the franchise is wearing thin. I know there are plenty more Amityville themed movies to watch yet, but I don't know if I can bring myself to see any of them. I did watch Amityville: The Awakening a while back, but that is all I have watched from the newer movies. This film has little to do with the house. The dollhouse is made in the image of the Amityville house and that's it really. There were no surprises, no scares and nothing amazing in this film. It was watchable but that's it. If you want to see this then be warned that it isn't the best. I will give it a 4/10.

This House Possessed Movie Review

This House Possessed is a 1981 TV movie directed by William Wiard and starring Parker Stevenson and Lisa Eilbacher.

The film begins with a couple looking around the grounds of a house. Someone is watching them. They get sprayed with water. The TV is on inside the house. A singer is on it. His name is Gary Straihorn(Stevenson). He collapses from exhaustion and ends up in hospital. He has a nightmare. A nurse helps him. The TV in the house is showing what is happening to Gary. Gary asks the nurse, Sheila(Eilbacher) to come and stay with him as his private nurse. He decides to rent a house. They go and look at the creepy house from the beginning of the film. They look around. The house is unique. Gary loves it. He wants to buy the place. They move into it.

One night, Sheila is woken up. She hears a voice calling Margaret. She goes outside and Gary finds her. He starts to get headaches. Sheila goes into town to get his medication. A local woman calls her Margaret. The woman tells her that she shouldn't have come. Sheila finds a weird doll and hears music playing in the house. The voice calls Margaret once again. Gary and Sheila talk. He wants to know more about her, but she seems reluctant to open up. They share a kiss. Tania shoes up at the house. She is Gary's ex. Sheila isn't one bit happy about this. She goes into town and bumps into the local woman who calls her Margaret. They go to the library and the woman says that there was trouble in the house.
She is an old lady and she knows all about it.

Back at the house, Tania and Gary are close. Sheila is upset over it. The house isn't too happy either. Tania is in the shower when blood comes out of it. She gets stuck in the shower and she panics. After that, she leaves. Sheila is happy and she and Gary continue their relationship. She tells him that she can't remember the first seven years of her life. She was found wandering around and she was put in a foster home. The old lady from the library, who is called Lucille, calls her and says that she has information for her about the house. Sheila goes to her shack but there isn't anyone there. She leaves a note for the old lady.

Gary asks Sheila to marry him and she accepts. Gary's manager, Arthur, wants him to go back on tour. He agrees. He is going to take Sheila with him after they get married. Arthur ends up being killed by a mirror. Gary is bewildered. He and Sheila investigate the house and they find out that there were two owners before Gary. Sheila tells him about the voices that she heard. His headaches get much worse.  The old lady shows up and she says that she was Shelia's nurse for the first seven years of her life.  She tells her that the house killed her parents. It didn't want Sheila to leave. The house kills the old lady. Sheila tells Gary that they need to go. The house shuts itself up and the phone is dead. The cold air comes on and it suddenly stops. Hot air takes it place. The house starts collapsing. Gary wants to set fire to the house so they can escape. They do manage to escape but the house isn't done with them. The house tries to get Gary but Sheila pleads with it to let them go. It does so.

This is an okay film. It has Parker Stevenson in it, which was interesting. The story itself is not bad and this is really more of a thriller than a horror movie. There isn't much blood or violence really. It is quite tame. It is a TV movie, so you don't expect anything too scary. I will say that it is a mystery and that it kept me watching until the end. I did enjoy it and I will recommend it. I will give it a 5/10.

The rest of the movie is taken up with the group trying to escape, but they are not so lucky. They manage to kill a couple of the tunnel rats. They look like they are going to get away but the tunnel rats are clever and they know every inch of the tunnels..The movie ends with everyone dead and there are no survivors. The tunnel rats survive to live another day..

This movie was average. It was obvious what was going to happen and there weren't many surprises, but it is worth a watch if you like by- the- numbers horror. This gets  a 4/10.

Gargoyles Movie Review

Trailer here.

Gargoyles is a 1972 TV horror movie directed by Bill Norton and starring Cornel Wilde and Jennifer Salt. Scott Glenn also makes an appearance.

Dr. Mercer Boley(Wilde) and his daughter Diana(Salt) are in New Mexico. He is writing a book about demons. They go to visit a man who says that he has an unusual skeleton. His name is Uncle Willie(Woody Chambliss) and he has a desert museum. He shows the doctor his skeleton. Dr. Boley thinks that it is not real. Willie tells him that the place is called Devil's Crossing. He says that the Native Americans used to talk about it. Dr. Boley becomes more interested. Willie talks about a Native American ritual. He gets nervous as the day gets later. Something is outside and it tries to get in. Uncle Willie's museum is set on fire and Willie dies. Boley takes the skeleton's head and leaves. The place is totally destroyed. He and Diana drive off but something jumps on the car. It tries to get at them. They pull into a gas station and there is a motel next door. They go there. Mrs. Parks is the owner and they get a place to stay. A group of bikers, led by James Reeger(Glenn) look around the remains of Uncle Willie's place. The cops find them there and think that they burned the place down. They are arrested. Dr. Boley tries to tell them that the bikers didn't do it, but the cops don't listen.

During the night, Dr. Boley hears noises outside their room. There are gargoyles out there. They are looking for the skeleton head. One of them gets hit by a truck and it dies. Boley brings it into the motel room. Diana goes to the police and she says the the bikers are innocent. She tells Reeger about the gargoyles. He thinks that she is crazy. The gargoyles reappear, looking for their dead pal. Boley and Diana put it into their car. The gargoyles take Diana and they turn the car over. The big daddy gargoyle shows up and he looks at Diana. His minions take the dead gargoyle with them. Diana is brought to their lair. Dr. Boley tells the police about the gargoyles. They think that he is crazy. The biker gang don't and they offer their help to find Diana. They all go to search for her.

Diana is in a cave with the gargoyle gang. She looks around the place. The head gargoyle has her fathers books and he wants her to teach him about what is in them. He can talk too!! The search party comb the area for Diana. The lead gargoyle tells Diana that humans have nothing to fear from them. There are gargoyle eggs in their cave. They are beginning to hatch. The gargoyles are aware that the search party is coming. They emerge from their cave and there is a battle. Some of them get shot. The head gargoyle takes Dr.Boley into his cave and tells him that they are going to destroy humans. Reeger sees the eggs, He douses them with gasoline and sets them on fire. Diana and her father are led to freedom by the female gargoyle. Dr. Boley damages the queens wings so that she can't leave. The lead gargoyle takes her off in his arms and they fly away to start breeding somewhere else.

This film was entertaining in its own way. The cast weren't too bad. The gargoyles were a bit silly but the lead one was decent. It was pretty good for a TV movie. It is obvious that this film is cheap, but it is actually enjoyable. I would certainly recommend it for some fun. I will give it a 5/10.

The Widow Movie Review

Trailer here.

The Widow is a 2020 horror film directed by Ivan Minin and starring Viktotiya Potemina and Anastasiya Gribova.

Kristina(Gribova) is shooting a documentary about a search and rescue team who are training a new recruit, Vika(Potemina). The locals think that there is a witch in the woods. They call her the Limping Widow.  The rescue team have a dog with them also. They find a strange woman in the woods. She is called Zoya. They have been looking for a young boy who went missing in the woods. They take Zoya to their van and keep her warm. She seems very unusual. They pull something out her mouth. The group sees a carving on one of the trees. It is an evil spirit symbol. The group decide to drive out of the woods, but they are stopped, first by falling trees and then by getting stuck in the mud.

Zoya tells them that they won't get out of the forest alive. She tells them a story about a woman who choked her husband. She was caught by locals and they broke her legs. They threw her into a pit and she died. Her spirit is in the woods and she gets revenge by killing anyone who comes there. The dog runs off into the woods and he comes back different. He is snarling and angry. The driver, Andrey, changes. His eyes become black and he seems possessed. He drives the truck with Zoya and Vika in the back. He is going crazy. Vika jumps out before the van is driven into a lake and disappears. Vika sees Andrey coming out of the water. He wanders off into the woods. She follows him to a creepy old shack in the woods and he is turned against the wall. She  calls him but he doesn't reply. The others look for her.
They have found Andrey's body. They also find crazy Zoya. The group ask her questions, but she doesns't say anything.  They head off looking for Vika.

Vika tells all of them what happened to her. Kristina thinks that Zoya is evil. She disappears. Vika tries to find her and she does. Zoya wants to die. She makes Vika kill her. The others show up and see the lady dead. They think that Vika did it. She tells them that Zoya wanted to die and she forced Vika's hand. They wander around some more and an unseen force impales one of the team. The others find clothes hanging from trees. The witch comes and she kills more of the team until Kristina and Vika are the only two left. Vika disappears and Kristina is left alone. She walks around and tries to get out. She finds Vika in the old shack. She is naked and she has become like Zoya. She will stay in the forest to protect others from the witch. Kristina is taken away by ambulance. The movie ends.

This film had some creepy moments. There were just not enough of them. I liked some scenes and this films owes an awful lot to The Blair Witch Project. It is very similar is some ways. The problem is that it is nowhere near as good as that film. It looked promising at the beginning and it went along well, but half way through, it started to drag and the ending didn't have anything exciting to wrap it up, I didn't like the ending. This is a middle of the road Russian horror movie. It is worth a look for some creepy scenes, but don't expect too much. I will give it a 5/10.
