Fear in the Night is a 1972 horror/thriller directed by Jimmy Sangster and starring Joan Collins, Peter Cushing, Ralph Bates and Judy Geeson.
Peggy Hellet(Geeson) is a young woman who has just become married to Robert Heller(Bates). They are going to relocate from London to a boys boarding school where Robert works. Peggy is attacked at her flat the night before they are going. Someone breaks into her place and tries to strangle her. The person has a fake arm. She wakes up in her flat and when she tells her landlady, she doesn't believe her.
Peggy has had mental problems and Robert thinks that she has been imagining it all. She insists that she was attacked. They go down to the boys school and Robert shows her around. He tells her that the headmaster is Michael Carmichael(Cushing) and his wife is Molly(Collins). They settle in. They run into Molly who seems a little odd.

Robert has to leave for a work errand and Peggy is alone in the cottage. She decides to wander through the school when she hears voices of a class going on. She goes into one of the classrooms and discovers that there is no class, but it is a recording. The headmaster Carmichael is there and he talks to her. She is a little rattled, but he seems nice. Things take a sinister turn when Peggy thinks that Carmichael is after her and she grabs a shotgun and shoots at him. Robert arrives back at the cottage and a twisted plot unfurls. Robert and Molly are lovers. They are behind the attacks on Peggy and they were trying to drive her mad. They want to get rid of Molly's husband and they thought that if Peggy was spooked, she would shoot him. The school has been closed for years and Robert has been looking after Carmichael because he has mental problems since there was a fire in the school years ago and he got burned.Carmichael knows what they are up to and wants revenge. In the end, Peggy is taken prisoner by the two of them and she and Carmichel get rid of the two lovers. Robert ends up hanging from a tree in front of the school. Peggy leaves to start her life again... An entertaining movie which I enjoyed. It is worth a watch if you like Hammer horror! I will give it a 6/10.

Queenie is horrified by this story.

Queenie hands Delphine over to Marie and she uses Delphine's blood on her face.

Layne finds videos of Joe talking about aliens in the corn and he wonders was his uncle losing his mind. He goes to the Sheriff but he can't believe that there are aliens around. There are more circles and people begin to disappear. The Sheriff comes out to the house and he gets attacked by something in the corn. It is clear that there are aliens and they are in the corn. They all run for the house and Layne figures out that electricity can kill them. The Sheriff blows up the house with the aliens in it and Layne, Macy and Katrina escape. They are driving along when they hear news on the radio that there are strange creatures attacking people. It is obvious that the aliens have not been destroyed. A fun movie with a good cast that is worth a watch if you enjoy cheap horror with a dash of aliens thrown in. I will give it a 5/10.
This episode begins with Madame LaLaurie and her daughters. She threw them into her torture chamber along with the others and tells them that she might let them out in a year if they are lucky. Cut to modern day and the house is surrounded by zombies sent by Marie Laveau. LaLaurie sees that her daughters are among them. The neighbour, Luke, is attacked by one of them and he gets an axe in the back. The witches battle the zombies and it looks like they are losing when Zoe uses her powers to stop them in their tracks. Marie is amazed that they could stop her zombie attack.

Instead, she turns the tables on them and accuses Myrtle Snow of attacking her daughter.
She has some proof because Myrtle's hands are scarred from the acid. Myrtle is accused of the attack and burned at the stake. We find out later that Fiona set Myrtle up and that she was innocent of the attack. Fiona used Queenie to set her up and she flatters her to keep her quiet about it. Misty Day finds the charred corpse of Myrtle and she decides to bring her back to life...
A good episode, with plenty of action!
Warning:If you are easily offended, then don't watch the trailer....
Island of Death is a 1976 horror/thriller directed by Nico Mastorakis and starring Robert Behling and Jane Lyle. It has been on the list of video nasties.
The movie begins on a Greek island called Mykonos. A couple called Christopher(Behling) and Celia(Lyle) are on vacation. They seem happy and carefree and they look like normal tourists. But, they aren't. They talk to a man who is there on a vacation too. He is there to paint and he thinks that they are very friendly. Celia goes over to see him and they have sex with Christopher watching and taking photos. Afterwards, Christopher and Celia kill the man for no reason. Then, they set their sights on two gay guys who are having sex. Christopher says that they are ridding the island of perversion. Celia and Christopher kill the two guys and take pictures once again. They make it look like a murder suicide.
There is a cop on their trail. His name is Foster and he has followed them to the island. They know that he is on their trail. That doesn't put them off. They have a showdown with Foster and he ends up falling in the sea, never to be seen again.

Christopher and Celia continue their spree. He has sex with a slut and Celia takes pictures, but he kills her in a fit of rage, which angers Celia. The local barmaid is a lesbian and she has eyes for Celia. Christopher wants to kill her because she is gay and Celia goes back to her place with her and they have sex. Christopher has his camera and he kills her. The local cops are onto them so Christopher and Celia, who turn out to be brother and sister, have to go on the run. They meet a man who Celia saw in a dream and he helps them out. He wants Celia so he rapes her. Then he rapes Christopher and throws his body into a pit of dry lime. He begs Celia to get him out before it rains and he dissolves, but she won't. She stays with the man and lets Christopher melt when it rains on top of the lime...

Strange movie with some disturbing elements to it. It wasn't one of the best films I've seen. It was worth a watch, but that's all. I don't think that I would watch it again. It has a cult following because it was a video nasty etc, but it isn't too graphic. If you enjoy exploitation movies, then this will be for you. I wasn't enthralled by it but give it a chance if you want to see what the fuss was about. It was released a while back in an uncut version..I am giving it 5/10.
This episode begins with Marie Laveau casting a spell on some dead bodies after a black guy is killed in the 1960's. She uses voodoo to send the dead after those responsible. Cut to the 70's and Marie meets the then leader of the witches, Anna-Leigh and they call a truce on their war. When Anna-Leigh disappears, Fiona is made the next supreme. Myrtle Snow is the only one who suspects her of murdering Anna-Leigh to get the position. She can't prove it so she goes after Spalding who cuts out his own tongue to stop him from telling her anything. He will not betray Fiona.

Cut to modern day, and Spalding sees Fiona murdering Madison. As usual, he covers up the crime for her. Queenie is half dead after her battle with the minotaur. Cordelia's husband Hank is cheating on her with another woman, but then he shoots the woman dead revealing a dark side to him. Marie Laveau gets the minotaurs head in a box from Fiona and this makes her angry. The truce is broken and Marie declares war on the witches. The witches council comes to the house to discuss Madison and her disappearance. The head of the council is Myrtle Snow(Frances Conroy) who knows that Fiona killed her but has no proof yet again! They have to leave. Fiona and her daughter are at a bar and when Cordelia goes to the bathroom, a hooded figure throws acid in her face. Spalding has Madison's body in his room and he dresses in women's clothes and dances around. At the house, the witches look outside and see loads of dead bodies surrounding the house....

A good episode. There is always plenty happening in this show and the plot twists are interesting...
Shivers is a 1975 horror/sci-fi movie written and directed by David Cronenberg. It was his first proper movie and it stars Paul Hampton and Lynn Lowry.
Dr. Emil Hobbes(Fred Doederlin) is performing strange experiments with parasites. He has designed one which is an aphrodisiac and when it is implanted in a person, it causes sexual desires which are totally uncontrollable. He thinks that if people are having sex, then they will be more peaceful etc but it all goes wrong. He implants it into his mistress and she cannot control her lust. Emil kills her and himself, thinking that this will stop the parasite, but she has already infected plenty of people in the apartment building where she lived. People begin to get infected by sexual contact and they turn into sex crazed zombies. Roger St Luc(Hampton) is a doctor in the apartment complex and he sees that people are exhibiting very odd behaviour. He looks into it with his nurse/lover, Miss Forsythe(Lowry).

They go through the building and they are chased by the sex crazed inhabitants. They try to escape, but the zombies are after them. Roger gets to his car, but they are after him and they trap him. Miss Forsythe gets infected and Roger has to go without her. As much as he tries to, he cannot escape and he gets trapped and infected by the zombies. The end of the movie shows the sex crazed people getting into their cars and heading for the city where they will infect everyone...
I liked this film. It is low budget, but good entertainment. It has everything that a good horror movie should have. It is far from perfect, but I enjoyed it and it showed that Cronenberg had great promise as a filmmaker at that time. If you enjoy cheap horror with an edge, then this is for you. I will give it a 6/10.
This episode is the mid-season finale, so we will have to wait for another while to see more. Last time, The Governor had taken over as leader of the camp and he was looking at the prison. This episode begins with The Governor telling people that Rick and his group have a prison and that they are criminals and bad people. The camp agrees to go to the prison and get it for themselves. Hershel and Michonne are in his trailer and he talks to them about what will happen. Hershel tries to get him to see reason and tells him they they could co-exist in the prison, but The Governor says that he could never live with Rick or Michonne. Daryl is not too happy about what happened with Carol and tells Rick that. They decide that they have to tell Tyreese about it.

The Governor shows up with a tank and his people, armed. He calls out Rick and tells him to get out of the prison and nobody will get hurt. Rick refuses and Hershel and Michonne are brought out. Rick is surprised. Rick tries to reason with him, but he won't budge. He wants them out or else he will kill the two hostages. Rick stands firm and tells him that he is not going to leave. The Governor becomes angry and he threatens to kill Hershel. Rick tries to reason again, but it is no good. The Governor kills Hershel. All hell breaks loose. Lilly arrives, carrying the body of Meghan who has been killed by a walker. He shoots her in the head so she won't turn into a walker. The Governor seems to lose what was left of his senses and he attacks the prison with his forces. A gun battle ensues and people get shot. The Governor gets Rick and he tries to choke him. He almost succeeds, but Michonne kills him. Rick and Carl get away and some of the others.

It was a good episode, but I am disappointed that The Governor is dead. I guess the baddie always has to die, but I liked the character. Some of the others are a little bland for me. Hershel has gone now too so the group is shrinking by the minute. It will be February before we find out what will happen now..
Last episode, The Governor was caught in a pit with Meghan and he saw one of his men, Martinez with a gun. This week starts with Martinez getting Meghan and The Governor out of the pit. They join the camp. Martinez is surprised at the apparent change in The Governor. He goes out with the men looking for supplies. They find a corpse with the word liar printed on it. Then they find a cabin and there is another corpse there. The Governor kills a walker. Martinez talks to him about how he has changed. The Governor hits him and throws him into the walker pit. The other guys think that he fell. There is a new leader of the camp.

The Governor and others are out looking for supplies when they see another camp. They need their supplies but the leader says no. They move on, but later come back to the camp and find everyone dead and the supplies gone. That night, The Governor tells his new family that they need to get out of the camp because the leader is weak. They try to go, but their path is blocked by loads of walkers and they have to return. The Governor kills the new leader and tells the second in command Mitch that he has killed the top guy and he is taking over. Mitch agrees to join him and he takes over as the leader. He goes to the prison and looks at Michonne who makes him angry and he sees Hershel too. Another good episode which is setting things up nicely..
The Card Player is a 2004 thriller/horror movie directed by Dario Argento. It stars Stefania Rocca and Liam Cunningham.
The story begins with a cop called Anna Mari(Rocca) who receives an email from an anonymous person saying that the police have to play online poker with him. He has kidnapped a woman and he will kill her if they lose the game. He has the woman on webcam and the cops can see her being tortured and eventually killed. They are no match for him as he seems to be a brilliant poker player.
He kills some of the girls on the internet and the cops are helpless. Anna is determined that they beat this guy as he says that if they win the poker game, he will let the victim go. When a British national is killed, a cop from England comes to join forces with Anna. He is John Brennan(Cunningham) and he and Anna look for leads.
They discover a poker wiz called Remo(Silvio Muccino). He is a young guy and he doesn't really want to help them at first when he sees what the stakes are. He eventually agrees to help them and he wins a couple of hands, but loses then. The cops are disappointed. The killer is in Anna's apartment but he escapes. John and Anna grow very close. The killer takes the police comissioners daughter and Remo has to play for her life. He does win and the killer lets her go. But, he kills Remo one night. John gets killed. Anna is kidnapped by the killer who turns out to be one of the cops in her department. She manages to escape him and he gets mowed down by a train.
I liked this film. It has got negative reviews but it isn't that bad. It was entertaining but I did figure out who the killer was in the first half of the movie. I thought that it was a little obvious, but on the whole, this was a good decent thriller. I will give it a 7/10.
Last week, The Governor was spotted watching the prison. This week, we find out what happened to him after he went crazy and shot most of his men. He gets abandoned by the few men he had left and he wanders around. He returns to Woodbury and burns it all down. He wanders around and meets a family who are living in an apartment. They are Lilly(Audrey Marie Anderson),Tara, Meghan and their dad who is sick with cancer. He calls himself Brian and he tells them that he will just stay the night. They need oxygen tanks for their dad so Brian goes and gets them for them. They are very grateful to him. The dad eventually dies and Brian has to shoot him as he will turn into a walker. He buries him.

He decides to go on the road but they don't want him to leave. Brian looks at Meghan who is around the same age as his daughter who died and he decides to stay. They go on the road together and Brian and Lilly have sex. The next day, they run into a huge group of walkers, so they have to run. Brian takes Meghan and they flee with the others. They fall into a huge pit which contains walkers. Brian kills them with his bare hands and tells Meghan he will protect her. He looks up and sees one of his old men, Martinez looking down at him with a gun. This was an interesting episode and it is good to see The Governor in a different light.
Silent Night is a 2012 horror movie which is supposed to be similar to Silent Night, Deadly Night, but doesn't quite match up. It is directed by Steven C. Miller and stars Malcolm McDowell and Jaime King.
The story is pretty simple- there is a rabid Santa Claus going around killing bad people. He has a serious problem and he is giving the real Santa a bad name! It is Christmas Eve and there are tons of Santas wandering the streets so it is really hard to find the killer among them. The Sheriff is James Cooper(McDowell) and he has his hands full trying to find the killer. His Deputy is Aubrey Bradimore(King) and she is trying to help him to discover the culprit. A grandpa issues a word of warning to his young grandson(a homage to Silent Night, Deadly Night) and he scares the grandson. Meanwhile Santa is murdering more locals.

Aubrey and Sheriff Cooper try and track down the killer Santa and they have to do it before he claims even more lives. This was an okay film. With the festive season almost upon us, it was only right to watch some Christmas horror. There aren't too many Christmas horror movies to sink my teeth into and this one was not great or not crap. It was watchable and there are plenty of gory parts if you like that.It is worth a watch, especially at this time of year. I wouldn't watch it again, but it wasn't all bad. Check it out if you aren't too fussy. I will give it a 4/10.
Last time, Rick threw Carol out of the group. Now, Rick is on his way back to the prison. Hershel is helping the sick. One of them has died. Glenn is stuck inside with them also. Rick arrives back and people want to know where Carol is. Hershel tells Rick what has been happening while he was gone. The walkers start to take over and they attack Hershel. Rick is outside and he hears a gunshot inside the prison. They need to strengthen the outside fence as the walkers are pushing on it. Hershel tries to fight against the walkers. The fence gives way to the walkers and the start to stream in. Rick and Carl are stuck.

They manage to keep the walkers under control, but it won't last. Maggie saves Hershel from the walkers. Daryl and the others come back from their run and Daryl asks Rick about Carol. He doesn't say anything to him yet. There is someone watching the prison from afar. Who is it? It's The Governor and he is looking mean....It is good to see The Governor back. He is a good character and it will make things more interesting!
Class of Nuke 'Em High is a 1986 sci-fi/horror movie made by Troma so you know that it will be a little different straight away! This is like a comedy too so there is something for everyone here! It is directed by Richard W. Haines and Lloyd Kaufman(under the name Samuel Weil).

Tromaville High School is situated next to a nuclear power plant(what the hell??) and some kids get their hands on a radioactive marijuana plant which leads to some of the kids being sold pot that is tainted. The kids start to have hallucinations and one of them gets pregnant with some horrible monster baby which drops into the toilet(this is very unusual stuff!!!!). The high school is plagued by this group of weirdos called The Cretins and they rule the place. They sell their weed to the kids whether they want it or not and they start giving people the tainted stuff. When a guy called Warren smokes the pot at a party, he turns into a strong man and he beats up and kills some of the Cretins. They swear revenge on him.

Unfortunately, at this moment, the monster baby is living in a barrel of radioactive goo and it is waiting in the fallout shelter in the school basement. The Cretins lure Warren into the school as they are holding his girlfriend hostage. They wreck the school and then try to get Warren, but the monster baby gets them and kills them. Warren and his girlfriend try to escape the monster and get out of the school but it is after them. Warren uses a laser that his science teacher has bought and kills the monster, but also destroys the school. Warren and his girlfriend escape and think that all is well, but from the rubble of the school comes a new little monster!

This film was very strange, but fun. If you have seen Troma movies before, this is the norm. It was funny, though and I liked it. There was mayhem throughout and the story was a little lacking, but I think that this film doesn't rely on story and it was just plain fun. It is worth a look if you like Troma and if you enjoy a good comedy/horror movie. I will give it a 5/10.
In 1971, Fiona talks to the then supreme Anna-Leigh(Christine Ebersole) about her powers. She tells her that she will be the next supreme no matter what. When Anna-Leigh tells her that she will never be, she slits her throat. The butler, Spalding(Denis O' Hare) sees all. Cut to present day and there are new neighbours. Zoe, Nan and Queenie look on as their new neighbour, Luke(Alexander Dreymon) and his mother Joan(Pattit LuPone) move in. Nan and Madison go to visit them with a cake. Joan does not like Madison and she tells them to get out when she sees Madison flirting with her son. Zoe goes to see Kyle's mother and they talk about him. His mother tells her that she really misses him and is lost without him. Zoe thinks that she should bring Kyle to her to help her. She goes to see Misty Day who doesn't want to give him up. She eventually does. Zoe takes him back to his mother not knowing that she was having a very dodgy relationship with her son.

Cordelia goes to Marie Laveau to try and get some help as she can't get pregnant. Laveau laughs in her face. Fiona begins to realise that Madison is getting powerful and she thinks that she will be the next supreme. She decides to be her mentor. Kyle kills his mother when she tries to come on to him. Zoe sees what he has done. Queenie and La Laurie are talking when the slave Bastien shows up outside. LaLaurie thinks that he has come for her. Queenie goes out to him. Fiona murders Madison because she thinks that she is going to try and take her place as the next supreme. Spalding sees all but he is a mute so her secret is safe. Good episode!

Last time, Rick had discovered that Carol had killed two people who were going to turn and she had burned them and dragged them outside. He and Carol head off to get supplies and he is thinking about what she did. Carol tries to make Rick see sense and tells him that she did what she had to, but he is not so sure. They look through houses and meet two young people who tell them that they have only been in the house for a couple of days. They are both injured and Carol helps them. They want to go with Rick and Carol back to the prison. Rick doesn't know if they should because of the sickness that is there. He eventually agrees to let them come back but tells them to go look for supplies. He gives them a gun and tells them to shoot it if they get stuck. Meanwhile, Daryl and the others are looking for transport. Tyreese is still angry over what happened and he lets out a load of walkers who had been locked up. The group have to fight and Michonne tells Tyreese to calm down and get on with it.

Carol and Rick both see the survivors that they met earlier and they are both dead and being eaten by walkers.Rick and Carol talk about what she did and he thinks that she was wrong and tells her so. He also tells her that she has to leave the group. She can't believe that he is kicking her out, but he tells her that Tyreese will want revenge on her and the others won't like what she did. She thinks that she can handle Tyreese but Rick doesn't want here there so she accepts that she has to go it alone. He gives her some supplies and a car and leaves her. I did not see that coming and I am not sure that that is a good move for the group. I can see why Rick thought he had to kick her out, but the group needs strong people especially now that people are dropping like flies.I didn't like that plot development but we will see.I suppose that Carol will pop back up somewhere along the line...
