Slaughterhouse Movie Review

Slaughterhouse is a 1987 horror movie directed by Rick Roessler and starring Joe B Barton, Don Barrett,Sherry Bendorf and William Houck.

A group of teens meet their end in a creepy area. A man called Lester Bacon(Barrett) lives with his son, Buddy(Barton) on a site. There is an old slaughterhouse attached to it. He has been offered money to sell his site. A man called Tom( Bill Brinsfield) is the man who wants it. He owns a meat packaging plant. Tom brings Sheriff Borden(Houck) and Lester's attorney, Harold(Lee Robinson) to talk some sense into Lester, who is refusing to sell it. He is stubborn. The Sheriff gives him thirty days to leave the property. Buddy hears all of this and he is angry.

Sheriff Borden has a daughter called Liz(Bendorf). She wants to make a movie and she brings her friends to the slaughterhouse to film it. What they don't know is that local kids have been disappearing. Buddy has been disposing of them and putting them in the slaughterhouse. The Sheriff's deputy, Dave, is investigating the disappearances. He arrives at the slaughterhouse and he has a look around. He meets Buddy who cuts Dave's arm off. Lester sees what Buddy has done and he isn't happy about it. Harold arrives at the slaughterhouse. Lester confronts him. Buddy takes care of him also. Sheriff Borden can't find Dave. Buddy drives around in Dave's car and meets Dave's girlfriend, who he attacks. The Sheriff is getting worried now. Tom goes to the slaughterhouse and guess what? He gets killed there. Is there no end to the slaughter in the slaughterhouse???

Liz and her friends go to the slaughterhouse late and the boys play a trick on the girls by putting masks on and trying to scare them. Unfortunately for them. Buddy is not in the mood for tricks and he starts killing. The Sheriff is on the way out there. Liz is left wandering around and she meets Lester, who has lots of bodies hanging on meat hooks. He decides that she will have to die too. Her father is there though, and Liz manages to get away from Lester. He gets injured. Buddy chases Liz but her father finds her and together, they try to escape. Lester stabs the Sheriff and Liz shoots Lester.
She and her injured father get into his patrol car and drive off. Buddy just happens to be in the back and the movie ends with him attacking them.

This film wasn't bad. It wasn't great either. The setting of the slaughterhouse was creepy and the story wasn't terrible. There were some decent scenes in it, I have to say. It is one of those middle of the road slasher films. I wanted to like it more than I did. I found it just okay. I will say that it is fun overall, though, and it will pass ninety minutes quite nicely if you enjoy 1980's slashers, as I do. I will give this one a 5/10.

Don't Go in the Woods Movie Review

Don't Go in the Woods is a 1981 horror movie directed by James Bryan and starring Jack McClelland and Mary Gail Artz.

The movie begins with some campers getting attacked and killed in the woods by an unknown assailant. A group of campers are going to the woods for a camping trip. They are Peter(McClelland), Ingrid(Artz), Craig(James P. Hayden) and Joanie(Angie Brown). They are walking through the woods when they smell something really bad. They look for a cabin to stay in. The local cops are wondering why there are so many missing people. The Sheriff(Ken Carter) is told about it. He starts to investigate by talking to the locals. More people get killed in the woods. The Sheriff starts a search for missing persons. A woman is in the woods painting a picture with her baby. She gets killed and the baby is taken.

Peter sees something in the woods. It is a man. He heads off alone to see what is going on. The others are worried. Peter sees the man killing someone and he runs off. The killer has spotted him, so he is in trouble! Ingrid is waiting for him. The group decide that they will look for him. Craig meets his end when he encounters the maniac. He meets a sticky end. Joanie runs off through the woods. Ingrid finds Peter and they go to find the rest of their group. They find a cabin and they look for food. What they find is Craig's dead body. They run off once again. The maniac follows closely. Ingrid makes it to hospital along with Peter. Joanie is still in the woods. Ingrid and Peter tell the Sheriff what happened. He arranges a huge manhunt. Peter decides to go back into the woods to look for Joanie. She is in a cabin and the maniac shows up.

The Sheriff finds the cabin and he finds Joanie and she is pretty dead. The Sheriff recovers six bodies. He wants to find Peter so he brings Ingrid up there to bring him in. A guy who just happens to be rolling around the woods in his wheelchair gets decapitated!! Ingrid finds a knife and she goes to find Peter. They discover the maniac and Peter injures him. He and Ingrid share a hug. The maniac is not dead and he chases them. They manage to get him this time and stab him until he can't get up. The movie ends with Ingrid and Peter walking away. The baby from earlier is in the woods is playing with a hatchet.

This film is not great at all. I didn't hate it, but I found that it was really badly made. The acting was terrible and there were some silly scenes. It is one of those really cheap 1980's slasher movies that were churned out. If you enjoy some cheap horror, then you might enjoy this one. It is really just for die hard horror fans, I think. I always have fun with these bad films and even though this was pretty bad, it was worth a look!!! I will give it a 4/10.

Puppet Master X:Axis Rising Movie Review

Puppet Master X:Axis Rising(2012) is the tenth movie in the Puppet Master series. It is directed by Charles Band and stars Kip Canyon, Jean Louise O' Sullivan and Scott Anthony King.

The movie carries on directly from the end of the last one. Ozu has escaped and she is walking away with Tunneler. She meets Kommandant Moebius(King) who is a Nazi. Blade is hiding in the shadows, watching what is going on. Ozu makes a deal with Moebius to give him the puppet if he lets her go. He agrees, but kills her anyway. The rest of the puppets are with Danny(Canyon) and Beth(O'Sullivan). Danny has to tell them that Ninja is no more. Blade turns up and he lets them know that Ozu is dead. The group want Tunneler back but he is with the Nazis. They come up with a plan to get him back from them. They get taken away by mysterious men. The Nazis have a doctor Freuhoffer working on a reanimation machine. A Nazi woman called Uschi is watching his work. Moebius wants the machine ready soon.

Danny and Beth end up at an army base. They meet Major Collins(Kurt Sinclair) who tells them that they did a good job saving the factory in the previous movie. He wants to know what happened. Moebius tests out his machine but it isn't working properly yet. Moebius wants to create a race of soldiers. Freuhoffer is threatened by Moebius. He tells him that he better make it work or he will be in trouble. He hands his Tunneler to have a look at. Collins tells Danny and Beth that General Porter is coming to town. He tells them that he will give them a bodyguard to protect them. The bodyguard is called Sergeant Stone(Brad Potts). They show Stone the puppets and explain to him what they are. Freuhoffer opens up Tunneler and looks inside. Uschi comes in and she wants to get with the doctor but Moebius kills her. Freuhoffer will use the machine to bring her back. He realises that his serum isn't strong enough. It won't work on large objects, just small ones.He creates his own puppet which looks like Uschi and is called Bombshell.

Stone and the others go to get Tunneler back. They meet Bombshell. She can shoot guns from her chest. She shoots Pinhead. They have to leave. Freuhoffer has created more puppets- Wehrmacht, Blitzkrieg and Kamikaze. The general comes to town and he meets Danny and Beth. Danny wants to join the army. The bad puppets show up and they attack. The puppets all face off. Danny will be accepted into the army. The bad puppets kill Collins. Danny and the puppets go to the Nazi lair to get Tunneler. They find Freuhoffers lab. They find Tunneler. They also have Six Shooter who they found earlier. Moebius catches them and his new puppets attack. There is a battle. Six Shooter kills Bombshell. Stone and Moebius fight. Moebius kills him. Six Shooter shoots Moebius, but he isn't dead. He is going to attack Danny but Blade stabs him and kills him. Freuhoffer is freed by Danny and Beth and the puppets. They don't see that he has some of the serum with him...

I enjoyed this film. It is another fun sequel in this series of movies. Yes, it isn't the best film ever, but there was enough to keep me entertained. I liked the inclusion of some new puppets. Bombshell was amusing. The others had their own unique personalities also. I liked how this followed on nicely from the previous movie. Overall, if you enjoy these Puppet Master films, then you should like this. I did. I will give it a 5/10.

Microwave Massacre Movie Review

Microwave Massacre is a 1983 horror movie comedy directed by Wayne Berwick and starring Jackie Vernon.

The movie begins with a girl who teases some workmen by flashing her breasts. One of the workers is called Donald(Vernon) and he goes home to a wife who doesn't like him. Her food is awful and she is trying to pretend that they are better than they are. She complains that Donald is not romantic at all.
Things go on like this day after day. Donald is getting tired of eating terrible food and listening to his wife barking at him. He snaps and he kills her. He doesn't remember doing it the next morning. He finds her head in the microwave and he cuts up the rest of her body. He puts the pieces in the fridge and starts to eat her bit by bit. He shares the food with the guys at work.

He meets a woman at the bar. She is a prostitute. He takes her home and he has sex with her. He smothers her and kills her. Then she ends up on the menu. Donald has a taste for human flesh and he starts to kill more women to satisfy his cravings. His wife's sister shows up looking for her and she finds out what he has done. He attacks her and he ties her up. Donald keeps up his sick crimes. He keeps the sister in the closet. His pals come over to his house and they find him dead in the kitchen of a heart attack. They find his grisly meals and they realise that they have been eating people. The movie ends with the movers looking at the microwave and saying that the wires are faulty.  The wife's head is in the fridge and her eyes glow.....

This is a bad film. Really bad. I couldn't like this one very much. There were parts that made me laugh. How could you not! Overall, the acting was really bad. The story was amusing, but there wasn't enough here to keep me entertained. I didn't like the horror mixed in with comedy. It wasn't for me. I would say that with a name like Microwave Massace, you know what you are getting, so watch at your own peril ! I will award this a 3/10.

The Blood Beast Terror Movie Review

The Blood Beast Terror is a 1967 horror movie directed by Vernon Sewell and starring Peter Cushing,Robert Flemying and Wanda Ventham.

The film begins with a man being attcked by something. The witness of the murder goes crazy because he saw the killer. The investigator is Inspector Quennell(Cushing) and his sidekick Sergeant Allan. They talk to the coachman and he says that the killer was a creature and it had wings. They find this hard to believe. Quennell and the doctor look at the dead body and it is drained of blood. There are other victims of the killer too. They are all drained of blood also. Quennel finds something at the crime scene. It is a scale. The inspector goes to see Professor Mallinger(Flemying). He is an expert in insects. They discuss what the creature could be. The inspector thinks that it might be an eagle, but the professor doesn't think so. Quennell shows Mallinger the scales that he found. The professor wants to study them. When Quennell has gone, we find out that the professor has a secret room in his house and there is a curious creature in there.....

A man comes to the village and he asks for directions to Mallinger's house. He is a naturalist and he has some specimens for the professor. He has come from Africa. His name is Britewell(William Wilde). They look at the speciments. The professor is working on something. He has a dodgy old butler called Granger. He looks evil and he looks like he knows some secrets. Britewell meets Mallinger's daughter, Clare(Ventham). She disposes of him so we are aware that she is the killer.
The inspector happens to be in the area at the time and he hears Britewell scream. He finds him and brings him into the professor's house. The professor lies and tells Quennell that he doesn't know the man. Britewell's final words are 'death's head' before he passes. Quennell begins to suspect that the professor is hiding something.

He breaks into Mallinger's house and he finds some very strange things in there. He finds the laboratory and he finds the evil Granger dead. The professor has left the house. The servants tell Quennell that they knew that he was hiding something. The inspector finds out where Mallinger and his daughter have gone. He decides to follow him with his own daughter, Meg(Vanessa Howard). The professor has found another place to do his experiements. His daughter has her eye on the gardener.
Quennell asks questions in the area, not revealing that he is a policeman. Meg meets a young man and they end up on the Mallinger's property. Clare sees them and she tells them to leave. The professor has a huge moth like creature. It needs blood to survive. It is to be a mate for his daughter, who is a moth creature also. She needs blood to survive too. She meets Meg and she asks her questions. She knocks her out and Meg ends up in the professors lab being drained of her blood.
The professor hypnotises Meg and he tells her to come back again later.

Quennell is worried about his daughter. Clare kills the gardener. Quennell finally realises that the scales are from a moth and he remembers Britewells last words. Clare kills her father when he threatens to destroy the new moth. Quennell goes to the professors house to talk to him but finds his dead body instead. Meg goes to the house also and she gets trapped when a fire breaks out. Quennell and Sergeant Allan rescue her. Clare is still on the loose. The fire takes care of her as the others escape and the reign of the killer moth ends.

I liked this film. It has a good cast and the story was fun. I like these old films because they are short and they are entertaining. Cushing is good here as the inspector. He plays his part well, as always.
The idea of the moth was interesting and I found this worth my time. I recommend this is you are a fan of these old horror movies or creature features! I hadn't heard much about this film before I watched it, but I do recommend it for a fun and enjoyable watch. I will give it a 5/10.

Fade to Black Movie Review

 

Fade to Black is a 1980 horror movie directed by Vernon Zimmerman and starring Dennis Christoper,Tim Thomerson, Gwynne Gilford and Linda Kerridge.

The tale begins with a young man called Eric Binford(Christopher). He lives with his aunt and he has an obsession with old movies. He works at a film distributors and he is often in trouble at work.  His aunt is called Stella and she tells him that he needs to change his lifestyle. She thinks that he is a loser. A psychologist called Moriarty(Thomerson) is moving into the local police station. He is setting up a programme to help young offenders. Eric makes a bet with a guy at work called Richie(Mickey Rourke). Richie is a bad guy and he always makes fun of Eric. Eric sees a young woman called Marilyn(Kerridge). She looks exactly like Marilyn Monroe and he is fascinated with her. He makes a date with her, but she isn't really that interested in him. She goes out with another guy and she forgets their date. Eric isn't happy.

Aunt Stella gives him grief when he goes home and he ends up pushing her down the stairs in her wheelchair and killing her. He starts to go crazy. He starts to dress up like characters from the movies that he loves. He dresses up as Dracula and he goes into Marilyn's apartment. He sees her in the shower, but he doesn't kill her. He finds a prostitute who had laughed at him previously and he chases her. She falls over and gets impaled on a fence. He bites her neck and sucks the blood from it. Next, he dresses up as Hopalong Cassidy and meets the nasty Richie. He shoots him and kills him. Meanwhile, Moriarty is investigating the murders. Eric meets a filmmaker and he talks to him about his ideas for a movie. The guy tells him that he should call him for a chat about it. Eric is elated. He gets fired from his job.

He heads over to his workplace dressed as The Mummy. He frightens his boss, who has a heart condition. He causes him to have a heart attack and die. Next, he finds out that the filmmaker stole his idea. He goes to get him dressed like gangster Cody Jarrett and he opens fire on him. Moriarty is getting closer to him, along with his helper, policewoman Anne Oshenbull(Gilford). They find out that Stella was not Eric's aunt, but his mother. Eric is dressed up as a prince from the movie The Prince and the Showgirl. He lures Marilyn to meet him by pretending to be a photographer. When she arrives, everything is set up. Moriarty is on the way to find him  before he can do anything to Marilyn.

Eric shoots him in the leg and he grabs Marilyn and runs. They find him at Mann's Chinese Theatre and he takes her up to the roof. He lets her go as he gets ready for his final scene. The police have surrounded the building and he starts to reenact Cody Jarrett's final scene from the movie White Heat.
The cops shoot him and he dies after falling from the roof. This film was pretty good. I am not sure about Christopher's performance, though. I didn't think that it was that great. I liked the premise and the movie references were good. This could have been a lot better, I felt. I did like the nods to other horror movies such as Night of the Living Dead and there were posters from Halloween and Tourist Trap on display which I also liked. All in all, this was an odd film for me. I didn't know if it wanted to be a serious horror movie or a comedy horror movie. I just didn't get it. Anyway, there is enough in this one to keep you entertained and I recommend it overall. I will give it a 5/10.

Crawl Movie Review

Crawl is a 2019 horror movie directed by Alexandre Aja and starring Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper.

The movie begins with the news that there is a hurricane in Florida. Haley(Scodelario) gets a call from her sister, Beth. She is worried about their dad. Haley calls him, but there is no answer. She goes out to his house to find him. She finds his phone. She decides to look in the cellar and she hears music playing. She sees a bit of blood and becomes worried. She finds her dad, Dave(Pepper). He has been injured. She tries to drag him out of the cellar but it is flooding and an alligator is trying to come in. It tries to get her. She hides from it. Her dad is groggy and he tells her that she should go before she gets hurt. She won't leave him. She wants to get to her phone but the alligator drags her off. She stabs it with something and realises that there are two!

She has been hurt so she hides. The basement is filling up with water. She can see a woman outside who is stealing from a shop. She has a boat. Haley shines a light, hoping that they can see her. One of them does, but he gets munched by more alligators. She and her dad spot the police, but they can't get their attention. They eventually get spotted but the alligators get the cops too. Haley and her father find a safe space but they are going to drown if they don't move soon. Her dad tells her that he will distract them while she makes a run for it. He manages to kill one of them. Haley finds to her dismay that the way out is blocked by the alligators nest. She has to try and crawl out through a pipe. This pipe is also the same way that the alligators got in. Hayley manages to secure a gun from the dead cop and she shoots an alligator. She manages to get into the house.

She goes through the floorboards and pulls the dad out. He is barely alive. They look outside. They are marooned. They need to find a boat. They go outside and they try to get to a boat. They get swept away in a big surge. They have to hang on. Her dad gets attacked by an alligator. It rips his arm off. Hayley gets stuck in the shower. The alligator is outside. She manages to lure it in and she gets out and traps it. Her and her dad go up to the attic and they use a flare to kill the alligator. They get to the roof and they sit up there. A helicopter comes and Haley uses another flare to flag it down.

This film was good. I liked the story a lot. The alligators were scary and it was very tense throughout. There was a lot happening in it and there were no dull moments. I didn't hear much about this film which is a surprise because it is a good creature feature and it deserves more attention. I will give it a  6/10.

You Should Have Left Movie Review

You Should Have Left is a 2020 horror/thriller movie directed by David Koepp and starring Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried.

The movie begins with a man called Theo(Bacon). He is married to a younger woman called Susie(Seyfried). She is an actress and he was a banker. They have a daughter called Ella. Theo wants them to go for a holiday so they book a house in rural Wales. When they reach the house, it is huge.
It is also out in the middle on nowhere. Lights go on an off by themselves. Ella sees a strange shadow on the wall. We learn that Theo was married before. His wife drowned in the bath. He was accused of her murder and it has caused him a lot of anger issues. Theo goes to the local grocer and he asks him about the house. It is relatively new, but the grocer tells him that there was another house there previously. He seems to know something about it. He gives Theo a triangle to measure the angles inside the house. Theo is amused.

Theo writes all of his thoughts in a journal. When he goes to open it, he sees that someone has written 'you should leave' in it. He wanders around and finds loads of corridors in it. Someone is taking polaroids of him. It turns out to be a bad dream. He decides that they should leave the place. He finds out that Susie has been cheating on him. He tells her to leave for the night and they will talk in the morning. He looks in his journal and finds the words ' you should have left. Now it's too late'. Theo  loses Ella in the house. He runs around looking for her. He eventually discovers her and he tells her that they have to leave the house. They are going to walk. He calls the grocer and asks him for help, but he doesn't help.

Theo and Ella walk through the countryside looking for some help. They end up walking right back to the house again. It looks as if someone is in there. They have to go back into the house again.
Theo sees his dead wife and then he sees himself. Something is happening to time and he sees himself as he was when they first arrived. He talks to a version of himself and things get weird. The next day, Susie shows up and he tells her to take Ella with her and he tells her that he has to stay in the house. He admits that he knew that his wife was drowning and he did nothing to help her so he was responsible for her death. He has to stay in the house as punishment for what he did. They leave and he goes back inside. The movie ends with the house being advertised on the internet.

This film was not very good. It was supposed to be a horror movie, but there were very few scares in it. I thought that it was more like a thriller but even so, the film was light on suspense. I thought that the story could have been so much better and the ending just fell flat for me. I was expecting some big reveal, but nothing good happened. I like Kevin Bacon, but this film was not good and even he couldn't make it better. I usually enjoy haunted house movies, but this wasn't really one of those either. The house was some sort of purgatory or something and I thought that Theo was paying for his past sin by having to stay in the house. That's what I took from it.  Anyway, I felt that this was a poor offering so it is getting a 4/10.

The Invisible Man Movie Review

The Invisible Man is a 2020 horror movie directed by Leigh Whannell and starring Elisabeth Moss, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Aldis Hodge.

Cecilia Kass(Moss) is a woman who lives with a very wealthy man called Adrian Griffin(Jackson-Cohen). He is a controlling and abusive man and she wants to leave. One night, she executes her plan and she leaves. Adrian tries to catch her as she leaves, but he fails. She finds out later that he has committed suicide. She is going to get five million dollars from him. She is living with a friend of hers called James Lanier(Hodge) and his daughter, Sydney. She has to go and meet Adrian's brother, Tom(Michael Dorman) to arrange the money. He says that he didn't like his brother either. She feels that she can move on with her life when strange things start to happen. Things move around and she gets drugged. There is something weird happening.

Cecilia begins to think that Adrian has something to do with it. She says that he was a genius in optics and that he was working on something that could make him invisible. She thinks that he is the one who is tormenting her, but they think that she is crazy. Someone writes a nasty email to her sister and this makes her turn her back on Cecilia. Someone hits Sydney also and this prompts James to take Sydney away. Cecilia looks around the house and she finds Adrian's phone in the attic. She senses that he is in the house and he really is there. He attacks her but she throws paint on him so she can see him. She goes back to the house that they shared and she finds his invisiblity suit. Now, she is sure that it is him. She goes to meet her sister, but someone slits her throat and drops the knife into Cecilia's hand so she is charged with the murder.

Cecilia ends up in a mental institution. She is also pregnant. She gets a visit from Tom who tells her that she can get out if she agrees to go back to Adrian. She realises that he helped his brother to frame her. She lures him out by pretending to kill herself. She runs off when he grabs her. He kills the staff at the hospital and chases her. The invisible man goes to get James and Sydney. Cecilia intervenes and she uses a fire extinguisher on him. It turns out that the figure was Tom. She knows that he conspired with the brother. Adrian is found at his house, tied up. He claims that Tom was the one who was responsible. Cecilia knows that this isn't true. Adrian claims that he was kidnapped and held by his demented brother. Cecilia decides that she has to catch him out so she agrees to meet him to talk. She realises that he hasn't changed and she goes to the bathroom. The camera catches her leaving and then it shows Adrian killing himself. Then she reappears and she is horrifed. She calls the cops. James wonders what happened and he spots an invisibility suit in her bag as she is leaving. He decides to let it go. It turns out that she took Adrian's spare suit and made herself invisible and killed him but the camera shows that he killed himself. She leaves happy that he is finally out of her life.

I liked this film. I think it is probably more of a thriller than a horror,but it had some creepy moments so I will let that go. I liked the story. It was interesting and I enjoyed this one. It is creepy that someone could be watching you and you can't see them. I liked the idea of that. All in all, this is a decent film with some good eerie scenes and tense moments. I recommend it and I will give it a 7/10.

Charlie's Farm Movie Review

Charlie's Farm is a 2014 Australian horror movie directed by Chris Sun, who also directed Boar. It stars Kane Hodder, Tara Reid and Bill Moseley.

The film begins with people who are hiding on a farm. They are getting picked off by someone. They all get killed. Cut to a group of friends who want to go on a roadtrip. They are Natasha(Reid), Melanie, Jason and Mick. Jason and Mick want to go to a haunted farm called Charlie's Farm. A family died in there. Natasha and Melanie don't know about their destination. They set off and the stop at a local pub to ask directions to the farm. A man called Blue lives in the area. Mick asks him about the farm. He tells them not to go there. He was there when the family was killed. The locals don't want people bringing it up. One of them tells them where to go and they leave. When the girls find out about where they are going, they are not happy. Natasha doesn't like it at all.

Mick tells the story of the family who lived on the farm. They were called John Wilson(Moseley) and his wife, Meredith. They were killers and cannibals. They had a son called Charlie and he watched as they murdered and ate people. The locals showed up at the farm. They were tired of what was going on. Blue was amongst them. They want the Wilson's to stop the killing. They shoot John dead. Meredith takes Charlie and that's all Mick knows about it. They call a friend of theirs called Tony(Hodder). He knows the area. He tells them that it is a bad place and that backpackers disappeared around there. He gives them directions. They reach it. They look around. It is a creepy place. Melanie finds a teddy bear. There is a flashback to Meredith and Charlie. She hides him while the locals catch her. They kill her as Charlie watches.

The group camps inside the house. Melanie wakes up at night and she sees a man. The next morning, two backpackers arrives. They are called Alyssa and Gordon. They talk to the group. Melanie realises that the teddy bear she found has gone. She tells them that there was a figure in the doorway last night. They think she was dreaming. Everyone sets off exploring.. Mick and Melanie finds a mineshaft. There is a terrible smell coming out of it. Gordon and Alyssa get killed. Tony is worried about the group. Mick and Melanie see Charlie(Nathan Jones) which is bad news for them. They end up dead. Natasha and Jason talk about Charlie and they hide. Tony shows up and he just happens to run into big bad Charlie. They have a fight. Jason sees and he tries to help but he gets killed. Tony gets killed by Charlie. Natasha is left and she has to run.

He catches her and she gets knocked out. She wakes up in a box in some sort of tunnel. She wanders around. There are loads of bodies in it. Charlie arrives and she hides from him. She manages to get out of the tunnel and the local guy Blue shows up. He has a gun with him. Of course, this isn't enough to stop the monstrous Charlie and Blue ends up joining the dead. Natasha grabs the gun and she shoots Charlie. She runs off and gets to Blue's truck. She isn't safe for long though. Charlie rises yet again and he impales her on the shotgun. She is taken to add to his collection of bodies in the tunnel.

This was a fun film. I liked the story of the farm and the cast weren't bad. The addition of Kane Hodder was welcome. Charlie himself is played by Australian former wrestler Nathan Jones who also showed up in Chris Sun's other movie, Boar. I liked that movie too. This is a decent movie with some gore. I enjoyed it overall and I certainly recommend it. I will give this a 6/10.

Houseboat Horror Movie Review

Houseboat Horror is a 1989 Australian horror movie directed by Kendal Flanagan and starring Alan Dale and Louise Siversen.

The film starts with a group of people who are going to shoot a video in a place called Lake Infinity. They pick up a hitchhiker who is going to meet up with her boyfriend. They drop her off and she meets a killer and is murdered. The group heads up to the lake. There are more people coming also. The killer is watching. They are renting houseboats. There is a local forest ranger guy who isn't happy about them wrecking the area. People have gone missing in the area before. The group consists of a rock band and their entourage. The forest ranger meets a sticky end at the hands of the killer. The killer had newspaper cuttings about a child who was burned on set by a film crew in an accident. He is very angry about it.

The band make their video and party. The killer is following them. He starts to get rid of members of the crew one by one. They meet a weird woman called Zelia(Siversen). She says that she heard them. She tells them that she was an actress and there was a fire on the set and people were burned. They think that she is crazy. The killer gets onto their boat and disconnects the radio so they can't call for help. They still have a two way phone and they call the person who rented them the boats. They tell him that some people are missing from their group. The killer doesn't stop and more die, one is killed with a horseshoe! It turns out that Zelia is working with the killer. Someone loses their phone, so the group are helpless. The killer starts his final assault. Bodies are piling up. He fails to kill two of the group and they escape as he falls into the water. The movie ends with the killers hand coming up from the water, so we know that he isn't dead.

Now, this film is very cheaply made, but it is actually not bad at all. I like Australian horror movies and this one was pretty decent. It is cheap, yes. The acting might not be up to much but the kills are actually good for such a low budget affair. I enjoyed this one. It isn't the best slasher film ever but it is certainly worth a watch if you enjoy Aussie horror, as I do. I recommend it and I will give it a 5/10.

Cutting Class Movie Review

Cutting Class is a 1989 horror movie directed by Rospo Pallenberg and starring Brad Pitt,Donovan Leitch and Jill Schoelen.

Paula Carson(Schoelen) is a high school student. She is home alone when her dad, Bill(Martin Mull) goes off for a fishing trip. He gets attacked. He just happens to be the district attorney. A local youth called Brian Woods(Leitch) has returned to school. He was in a mental institution after his father died in a suspicious accident. The brakes on his car were cut. Brian is supposed to be okay now. He talks to Paula. He likes her. Dwight(Pitt) is Paula's boyfriend and he isn't too keen on Brian hanging around his girlfriend. He and his pals find out that Brian had electro shock treatment. Cut to Paula's dad, who is still alive and trying to make his way out of the wilderness.

People start to die and Dwight starts to think that it might be Brian. He and Brian used to be close friends before he was sent away. Brian tries to convince Paula that he is not the killer. They all end up at the school where the coach is killed. Paula, Dwight, Brian and a teacher are there. There is a problem written on the black board and they have to choose a door to go through. One of them will be an escape. The teacher opens a door and he is killed by Brian. He IS the killer. Groan. He tries to kill Paula. Dwight is there to stop him. He chases both of them with an axe. They end up in a face off. Dwight fights him off and Paula hits him with a hammer and pushes him into a circular saw which finishes him off. The movie ends with Paula and Dwight leaving the school and meeting her dad, who somehow made it back from his trip alive. He tells them that he hopes that they weren't cutting class.

This film wasn't very good. I enjoyed bits of it, but I thought that the killer was so obvious from the start. It annoyed me. It was fun seeing a young Brad Pitt. I found it silly in parts and I just didn't like that the killer was Brian. They could have come up with something better. I didn't care for this much so I will give it a 4/10.

Just Before Dawn Movie Review

Just Before Dawn is a 1981 horror movie directed by Jeff Lieberman and starring Gregg Henry and Chris Lemmon.

The film begins in the woods. Two guys are in an old church. Someone is watching them. Their truck gets wrecked and there is a laughing killer hiding. He kills one of the guys, while the other, Ty, gets away. Cut to a group of people driving along in a van. They are Warren(Henry), Jonathan(Lemmon), Megan(Jamie Rose) and Daniel.They meet a local guy called Roy(George Kennedy) who is a forest ranger. He tells them that they should not camp in the hills. They think that he is crazy. They meet the scared Ty(Mike Kellin). He babbles to them about what happens and they think that he has lost it.He warns them to get out of there. They don't listen. They drive off and leave him.

They set up camp in the woods. The next day, the hear someone singing in the woods. It's a woman and she runs off when she sees them. The group set off exploring the area. They jump into the water for fun and the girl watches them from the woods. The killer is also on the lookout. Megan is in the water when she feels someone touching her and she gets freaked out. Ty reaches Roy's house and he tells him all about what happened in the old church and he tells him that he warned the kids, but they didn't take any heed of him. Connie wants to leave. She doesn't feel safe in the woods. Jonathan is in the woods and he meets the girl. She is called Merry Cat. She kisses him and he follows her. He also meets the killer who pushes him into the water. Daniel is taking pictures when she stumbles upon the old church. Connie and Warren find Jonathan who is dead.

Megan and Daniel spot the killer. He stabs Daniel and he chases Megan. She runs  into the church. It turns out that there are two killers. She gets caught. Warren and Connie look for the others. They find a house and Merry's family are inside. They won't help them. Warren needs the keys to the camper van so they can go for help but they are in Jonathan's pocket. He has to go back and get them from his dead body. Roy is in the woods and he wants to help the group. He visits Merry's family. They won't help him. Merry tells him that the killers are her brothers. She tells Roy that she will take him to find them. Connie is waiting for Warren to come back with the keys when one of the killers comes for her. She climbs up a tree to get away and he starts to cut it down. Roy comes and shoots him dead. Warren arrives back and gets attacked by the other killer. Connie tries to help fend him off. He squashes her but then she puts her fist into his mouth and suffocates him!!! Very unusual death. Merry Cat finds them and sees her brother's death. Warren and Connie are upset as they come to terms with what happened.

This was a fun film. I liked the woods setting and there were some decent scenes. I had heard of it before, but I only watched it recently. It is a low budget film, but that doesn't take away from it.
Overall, I enjoyed it and the end scene with the fist in the mouth death was really unusual. I had to laugh at that! There was some nice scenery on show also. The acting wasn't great but I can let that go I recommend this one. I will give it 5/10.
