Man of Steel Movie Review 295

Man of Steel is a 2013 action movie directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Michael Shannon.

The story of Superman is known to everyone, so there is no point going into too much detail about how he came about. Krypton is a planet which is going to be destroyed as it has used up all of its natural resources and cannot survive. Jor-El(Crowe) and his wife Lara have just had a baby boy and he is the first natural birth on the planet in years. They fear for his safety so they send their so, Kal-El to Earth so he has a chance. They give him a genetic codex of the Krypton race and let him go. A baddie called General Zod(Shannon) and his crew are out to cause havoc and he kills Jor-El. He gets caught and he is put in a prison called the Phantom Zone to cool off! Krpyton is finally destroyed when the planet explodes and Zod and he crew are released.

Kal-El lands in Kansas where he finds a family. You know the story. He is called Clark Kent(Cavill) and he wanders the earth working in crappy jobs. A reporter called Lois Lane(Adams) is in the Arctic doing a story on a government discovery of an alien ship. It turns out that it from Krypton and Clark wanders aboard it and meets a hologram of Jor-El. He tells him where he came from etc. Lane comes aboard and she sees all of this and he rescues her when she gets into trouble. She writes a story about it for the Daily Planet but her editor rejects it. She finds out who this superman is but she keeps his secret which is handy. I didn't like the fact that Lois finds out who Superman is so early in the film. It didn't seem right to me.

Anyway, Clark embraces his superhuman side and becomes Superman. Zod arrives on Earth and threatens to kill everyone unless Superman comes with him. He does so. They are seeking the codex but Superman won't give it to them. Little do they know that it is in him and they fight to get it. The rest of the movie has awesome fights and special effects. I suppose that the old Superman movies can't compare in this way, but I have to say that I liked Christopher Reeve as Superman. Cavill does a decent job and he looks strong etc. Adams was likeable as Lois Lane. Shannon was very good as Zod. He is a good baddie and I liked him in this film. The movie ends with Clark starting work at the Daily Planet and of course, Lois already knows who he is, but will keep his secret. Hmmm. Not sure about that, but all in all, it was enjoyable.Lots of fighting and great special effects. I give it a 7/10.

Silent Scream Movie Review 294

Silent Scream is a 2005 horror movie starring Melissa Schuman,Scott Vickaryous and Shanti Lowry.

A group of college students are going to a cabin in the woods for a vacation(original!!!) and they
are the usual mix of idiots and bimbos. They arrive at the cabin and one by one they start to disappear. There seems to be a killer in the woods and he is waiting to murder them all in different ways. They
begin to wonder who the killer is. Is it one of their own? They are chased by the killer and they lock themselves into the cabin to survive. They are all killed until there is only one left. The twist in this movie is that the students were taking part in an experiment arranged by their psychology professor. They are all alive and well. Then at the end of this, they are really going to a cabin in the woods and the professor is the one who is stalking them.

This movie was bad. It was so devoid of originality that you knew what was coming next. The twist was silly and it was just boring. I would avoid this if you get irritated by stupidity. The characters were not likeable and they did stupid things. It was just too by the numbers for me. I will give it a 2/10.

Single White Female 2:The Psycho Movie Review 293

Single White Female 2:The Psycho is a 2005 thriller sequel to the original Single White Female. It is a low budget, straight to DVD movie. It is directed by Keith Samples and starring Kristen Miller, Brooke Burns and Allison Lange.

Holly Parker (Miller)is working at a PR firm with her best friend, Jan(Burns). They are competing for a promotion and things get dirty when Jan sleeps with Holly's boyfriend, David(Todd Babcock). This splits Holly and David up and she is no longer pals with Jan. She decides that she is moving out of the apartment she had shared with Jan and into a new one with a woman called Tess(Lange). Tess seems like a quiet, shy person with little confidence. She and Holly become fast friends. Holly goes back to work and she tries to get her life back on track. She and David have to see each other as he is a client of the PR firm and Jan still works there so she can't avoid her.

She tells Tess what happened and Tess seems to want Holly for herself. She changes her hairstyle and she wants Holly to be with her and not have anything to do with Jan or David. Unfortunately, Holly makes amends with Jan and David which does not go down well with Tess. She is becoming possessive and jealous. Holly discovers that Tess has a murky past and that her friend in high school committed suicide. Tess murders Jan and she tries to kill David. Holly finds out that Tess  is a psycho and that she
will do whatever it takes to have Holly as her only friend. She tries to kill Holly too, but she doesn't succeed and David and Holly end up moving into their own apartment in the end of the movie.

Warning!!!This movie is bad. The acting is terrible and it is so cheap that it is just crappy. I liked the original movie Single White Female with Bridget Fonda, but this is just a cheap rip off with nothing great to speak of. It is just poorly made and boring.Avoid....It gets a 2/10.

Pieces Movie Review 292

Pieces is a 1982 horror movie directed by Juan Piquer Simon and starring Christopher George, Linda Day and Paul L. Smith.

The movie begins in 1942 with a young boy making a nude jigsaw. His mother comes in and sees what he is up to and she shouts at him and is disgusted with him. He is furious with her and murders her. The police come and don't realise that he is the one who killed mommy! Cut to forty years later. It is 1982 and at a Boston college, the kids are dying. There is some maniac on campus going around with a chainsaw murdering people. The cops are called in and Lieutenant Bracken(George) is on the case. There is a weirdo called Willard who they think is the killer but he turns out to be just a weirdo.

The killer is putting pieces of the nude jigsaw together. He is using human body parts to make his own bizarre puzzle. A former tennis ace called Mary(Linda Day) goes undercover at the college to catch the killer. She is working with the police. She can't figure out who it is until in the end it is revealed that the Dean of the college is the killer. He gets Mary alone and he tries to kill her, but the cops come in time to save her. She has been helped by a student called Kendall. They find the sewn together body parts. They kill the Dean and as Kendall has a look at the patched up corpse, a hand reaches up and grabs his testicles and rips them off for some reason! What a weird ending to a movie, but I have to say I didn't see it coming!

A fun slasher movie which was worth a watch. I liked it and I would recommend it. The ending was amusing and if you can get your hands on this, watch it. You won't be sorry. I love a good 80's slasher movie and this one gets 6/10.

Iron Man 3 Movie Review 291

Iron Man 3 is a 2013 action movie directed by Shane Black and starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Guy Pearce.

Tony Stark a.k.a. Iron Man (Downey Jr.)is at a party in 1999 with a friend Maya Hansen(Rebecca Hall)  and he meets a guy called Aldrich Killian(Pearce) who is a scientist with a limp. He wants Tony to join his company, but Stark rejects his idea and embarrasses him. Cut to present day and Stark is experiencing panic attacks after what happened in The Avengers movie. A guy called The Mandarin(Ben Kingsley) is making videos and showing his intentions. He starts to plant bombs and he is being sought by the FBI etc. Tony has to overcome his problems to get this guy. He dares him to come to his house and take him on. Stark isn't ready for what happens when The Mandarin does show up and he blows his house to pieces. He manages to escape in an Iron Man suit along with his girlfriend, Pepper Potts(Paltrow). He is believed to have died. Hansen had come up with Extremis, which is a treatment which allows limbs to regenerate. It has been used in some war veterans, but the problem is that it can cause them to explode.

Now comes a really silly plot line. The Mandarin turns out to be a British actor called Trevor and he is just pretending to be the head of a terrorist organisation. The real boss is none other than Killian who has changed since his meeting with Stark in 1999. This seems really silly to me as I was under the impression that The Mandarin was a Chinese villain but these movies are never like the comics. Anyway, Stark has to find Killian. Killian grabs Pepper Potts and subjects her to Extremis. It also turns out that Hansen was working with him but has a change of heart at the last moment but gets killed. Stark and Killian face off. They have a fight but it is Pepper Potts who kills him. In the end, Stark has his chest reactor taken off and he has an operation to remove the shrapnel near his heart.Potts has the Extremis removed so she is fine. Is this the end of Iron Man? I doubt it. He has to come back for the Avengers etc so there will be more movies! There is a post credit scene of Stark talking to Dr. Bruce Banner(Mark Ruffalo) who dozed off as Stark was telling him his tale...

This was much better than Iron Man 2 and there is loads of action here. Downey Jr. is good as Stark and  Pearce was good as the baddie and there was so much happening that you didn't mind the long running time. If you like a good superhero movie, then this is for you! I give it an 8/10.

The Tommyknockers Book Review

The Tommyknockers is a 1987 novel by Stephen King. It is a mixture of horror and science fiction.
It was made into a mini-series in 1993.

Bobbi Anderson is a woman who lives alone near the woods in the town of Haven. She lives with her dog Peter. She is walking with Peter in the woods when she finds a metal object embedded in the ground. She is spellbound by it and it has a strange effect on her. She decides to go and dig it up. That is when the trouble starts. Her pal Jim Gardner who is a poet comes to visit her and he discovers that she has changed. He is an alcoholic and he and Bobbi have been meeting on and off for a long time. They have been lovers in the past and he comes to see her. She tells him about the strange object that she has found and he is intrigued by it at first. People in the town are changing too and they are all making new inventions from electrical items and getting tonnes of batteries.

A local boy, David Brown, disappears when he performs a magic trick. Strange things are happening and Jim notices that Bobbi is looking ill. The locals are losing their teeth too which seems to be an effect from the object in the ground. They are also turning into violent and insane people who won't let anyone in or out of Haven. They have been taken over by the object which releases a toxic gas which has poisoned the minds of the  locals and they are protecting the object from the outside world. The object turns out to be an alien ship and it has been using the locals to get it out of the ground and moving again. Jim is unaffected by the gas because of a steel plate in his head. He can see what is happening but it powerless to stop it and turns to drink. He finally steps up and he manages to get the ship moving and into space but has to kill Bobbi. Most of the locals die and he dies too as the ship leaves. The town is invaded by the authorities and David Brown appears back in town..

An interesting read, I thought that this was a good novel and I liked the premise. It is a mixture of sci-fi and horror and it was entertaining. It wouldn't be my favourite Stephen King novel, but I liked it and I would recommend it to any reader. Beware though, it is a long book so if you are not a fan of a long read, you might want to give it a miss. It took me a while to read it, but it was worth it and I will re-watch the mini series...

No One Lives Movie Review 290

No One Lives is a 2013 horror movie directed by Ryuhei Kitamura released by WWE studios and starring Luke Evans, Lee Tergesen and Brodus Clay of WWE fame.

The movie started like a run of the mill horror where a couple are driving along and run into this criminal family who make them crash their car and take them captive. What the family don't know is that the guy(Evans), whose name we never hear, is a total psychopath and he sets out to kill each and every one of the family. Let's start at the beginning. The psycho is with a woman and they are driven off the road by Flynn(Derek Magyar) who is part of this family of criminals. They are led by Hoag(Tergesen) and he is mad at Flynn for just taking them. The couple are with Ethan(Clay) who is a huge guy with a knife. The woman kills herself and then the guy overpowers and kills Ethan. He is a killer and when the gang realise this, they are uneasy.

Flynn looks through the couple's car and finds a young woman in the back. She is a prisoner of the driver and she tells them that he will kill them all. She is from a rich family and they have been looking for her for ages. She was taken captive by the driver and he has been teaching her about his sociopathic ways. There is a huge reward for her return so the gang want to bring her back and get the cash. Problem is, the psycho is outside and he is killing them one by one. He wants his prisoner back and he doesn't care what he has to do to get her. He kills them all and then there is a showdown with his captive. She tries to kill him, but he is too smart for her. He decides to let her go and heads off on his way. She is taken into hospital and that's the end.

Not a bad horror movie. It was entertaining enough and I liked the fact that the psycho was the victim in the beginning. That was interesting and made the movie better. I would recommend this as I found it worth a watch. There is some gore though so be warned..It gets a 5/10.

Jigsaw and Amanda's Favourite TV - Dexter.

Well, there are so many TV shows on at the moment that it is hard to decide what to watch. We watch a lot of TV and some of the shows are crap and others are very good. I like a good story and good characters. The first show that we like is Dexter. It is based on a series of books by Jeff Lindsay and it began in 2006. There have been seven seasons so far and the final season begins soon.

The main character is Dexter Morgan played by Michael C Hall who is a bloodstain pattern analyst who works for Miami Metro Police. He is very good at his job and very clever. He was adopted by a cop called Harry Morgan(James Remar) who found him at the scene of his mother's murder and took him in. He still talks to Harry who appears as an advisor throughout the series even though he is dead. His sister is Debra Morgan played by Jennifer Carpenter and she is a cop too. She is foul mouthed and is a tomboy. She dresses like a guy most of the time and can be tough when she wants to be. The only gripe I would have about her is that Carpenter is way too skinny but that's just my opinion. Dexter works with another analyst Vince Masuka played by C.S.Lee. He is a pervert and is always talking about sex but is harmless. Angel Batista is played by David Zayas and he is a detective at Miami Metro. He is a good cop and he is good friends with Dexter and Debra. He is divorced and he misses the company of women and confesses to be lonely.Lieutenant LaGuerta is played by Lauren Velez is a no nonsense woman who will do anything to further her career. She does not like Debra and wants to keep her down. She likes Dexter.

The first season, Dexter is working away at his job but we find out that he is a serial killer who disposes of those evil people who the police cannot get. He takes them and secures them to a table with plastic wrap and then stabs them through the chest with a knife. He disposes of them in the sea. He
has a boat and that comes in handy for his dumping of bodies. He chops the victims up and throws their bodies in the water thus getting rid of the evidence. Of course, the bodies are found and the cops have an investigation on their hands. Dexter has a girlfriend called Rita(Julie Benz) and she has two children, Cody and Astor who Dexter gets on well with. He is with her in the beginning as a front. He needs to appear normal to the outside world. He has little feelings for her but after a while, he begins to like her and they marry. She is totally oblivious to his serial killing and she never discovers it. She wonders where he goes off to at night when he is hunting victims, but she is never suspicious of him killing.

The series always has one bad guy who Dexter is trying to get. In season 1, it is The Ice Truck Killer who turns out to be Dexter's brother and whom he kills. The cops find his bodies in the second season and they begin the search for the Bay Harbour Butcher, not knowing that Dexter is him! Dexter has a nemesis at the police station called James Doakes(Erik King) and he suspects that Dexter is not as innocent as he seems. He follows him around and eventually discovers the truth. Dexter has to get rid of him so he makes Doakes look like he is the Bay Harbour Butcher and he gets killed in an explosion so nobody learns about Dexter's secret. Season Three,Dexter finds a friend Miguel Prado(Jimmy Smits) who is an assistant DA and who shares Dexter's dark impulses. He wants to kill bad guys too. Dexter and Miguel become close friends until he crosses him and Dexter murders him. He also gets married to Rita in this season.

Season Four starred John Lithgow as serial killer Trinity. He was really good in the part as the creepy Arthur Mitchell. He has a family who he terrorises and he meets Dexter and they become pals until he realises that Dexter is out to get him. He kills Rita as revenge and Dexter murders Arthur. Arthur was a very clever man and it was hard for Dexter to get him. He was an even match for him and it was a very good season with the cat and mouse games they played with each other. Lithgow played the part very well. Rita had a baby with Dexter called Harrison and now Dexter has to be a single father to him and Rita's other two children. They eventually leave to live with their grandparents. Season Five finds Dexter rescuing a woman called Lumen(Julia Stiles) from a group of rapists. He finds her when he murders a man and she is his captive. She thinks that he is out to hurt her, but he doesn't kill her. He takes her away from there and she tells him what happened to her. She was a victim of rape by a group of men who like to film their antics. Then they give the women to a creepy sanitation worker who kills them. Dexter kills him and then he and Lumen get the other guys in the group one by one. The hardest one to get is a guy called Jordan Chase(Jonny Lee Miller) who is the head of the rape ring. Dexter and Lumen become very close and he is sorry when she leaves after killing all of the men who hurt her.

Season Six was very good and it revolved around killers called the Doomsday Killers. They are two guys who kill to bring about the Apocalypse. They are Travis Marshall(Colin Hanks) and Professor Gellar (Edward James Olmos) and they work together creating scenes from the Bible.Dexter finds Travis and he tries to get him to turn against Gellar as he thinks that Gellar is the brains of the outfit. He doesn't realise that Travis has killed Gellar and has been seeing him in hallucinations and he believes that he is still alive. He kills Travis but is caught by Debra who cannot believe what she is seeing..Season Seven sees Debra struggling with the news that her brother is a serial killer. She helps him cover up the murder of Travis Marshall but LaGuerta is suspicious and starts investigations. She is also trying to bring up the Doakes case to prove his innocence. Dexter meets a woman called Hannah McKay(Yvonne Strahovski) who has a dodgy past and they become lovers. She tries to poison Debra though and that is the end of their relationship as Dexter gets her put in prison. She escapes though and he whereabouts are unknown.Laguerta discovers the truth about Dexter and wants Debra to kill him but Debra shoots her instead. That brings us to the 8th season which will be starting the end of June. It should be a great finale I hope.

The series is very good and Hall is great as the main character. I like Dexter and his double life is interesting. He is a clever guy who takes care of the baddies who the cops can't touch. I like his sense of justice and he has had some close shaves where he got into trouble. I think that he will have to be found out sometime and I am not sure if they will end the series with him going to prison but I think that it would be better if he continues on his path. There were some really good actors in this. I liked Jimmy Smits, John Lithgow and Colin Hanks not to mention Jonny Lee Miller as the creepy Jordan Chase. It is a great TV series and I recommend it to anyone. I am just waiting for the next season! I hope you liked my quick synopsis of the show. Obviously, I don't have time to go into every storyline so this is just a fraction of what happens! Watch the series if you haven't seen it and you will enjoy it...

Hatchet for the Honeymoon Movie Review 289

Hatchet for the Honeymoon is a 1970 Italian horror movie directed by Mario Bava and starring Stephen Forsyth.

John Harrington(Forsyth) is a wedding dress designer and he lives with his wife Mildred. He hates her and their marriage was one of convenience. They fight all the time and she won't give him a divorce. He employs young women in his business to model his clothes and some of them have disappeared. All of the women who have gone missing were going to be married. There is some mystery in his past and he needs to murder the brides to be in order to find out the answers. The local inspector is very suspicious of John as all of the missing women worked for him.

John kills another of his models when she says that she is leaving to get married. When Mildred annoys him once too often, he kills her too! Then he buries her in his greenhouse but she comes back! She tells him that she is going to be with him forever and never leave him alone. He takes her dead body and puts it in the incinerator and burns it. He puts her ashes in a bag and throws it into the river. He thinks that that will put an end to her, but he is wrong. Meanwhile, one of his employees, Helen likes him and she and John become very friendly. He kisses her and they get close. He tells her to go away as he is afraid that he will hurt her. He doesn't realise that she has been planted by the inspector and he gets caught when he is going to kill her. He is taken away to an insane asylum and who is waiting for him only Mildred and she tells him that he is the only one who can see her and that she will be with him forever!!!

An interesting horror/thriller and it is not very gory. I liked the story and it was a good offering from the man who brought us A Bay of Blood...I would recommend it as a horror fan and there is some interesting 70's fashion on display!!I will give it a 6/10.

Final Exam Movie Review 288

Final Exam is a 1981 horror movie directed by Jimmy Huston and starring Cecile Bagdadi and Joel S.Rice.

At a college, kids are being murdered by some unknown person. It is the week of final exams and there are plenty of pranks being played around the college. The killer drives around in a van and he has his eyes on some of the college kids for his victims. They all begin to die in horrible ways as the killer stalks the campus. The Sheriff has his hands full with pranks and then the killer too. He thinks that the kids are all playing tricks and calling in the cops for fun. He decides that he has had enough and won't come to the college when they call him about real killings.

The kids are dropping like flies and the killer has his sights set on all of them. One of the college students, Courtney(Bagdadi) comes face to face with the killer. He chases her all over the campus and she has to try and get away from him. He almost kills her, but she gets to him first and kills him. The movie ends with Courtney coming out of the college and sobbing over her dead pals. This movie was okay. I found it a by the numbers slasher, but it is not rubbish by any means. It is entertaining and worth a watch if you like 80's slasher movies like I do. I will give it a 5/10.

Red Canyon Movie Review 287

Red Canyon is a 2008 horror movie directed by Giovanni Rodriguez and starring Norman Reedus(The Walking Dead),Justin Hartley(Smallville) and Christine Lakin(Step By Step).

The movie begins in Cainville, USA and a brother and sister go into a cave. The sister, Gina(Lakin) is attacked by a man while her brother, Devon(Tim Draxl) has to watch. Years later, Gina and Devon are back with their friends to sell their mother's house after her death. There are many bad memories for Gina and she is taking a long time to get over her attack.Devon is her protector and his girlfriend, Terra(Katie Maguire) thinks that he should let Gina get over it herself. The other two friends are Tom(Hartley) who is a pretty boy and Samir(Ankur Bhatt). They reach the house and then go out to the local bar where they encounter some familiar faces. Mac(Reedus) is a nasty piece of work who cannot be trusted and Harley(Noah Fleiss) who likes Gina.

The story is basically that Mac is a psycho and he tries to kill them and his dad Walter wants to buy the house from them. Anyway, they get attacked by Mac and he goes mad killing them. The ending is very complicated and all of the skeletons come out of the closet. Mac and his pal were running a drugs lab in the cave when Gina, Harley and Devon turned up. They were messing around when Mac and his pal decided to rape Gina and attack Devon. But Devon isn't squeaky clean and he turns out to be a pervert too in the end when he rapes his sister. Weird stuff. Not a great movie. I liked Norman Reedus, but that was it. Nothing special about this low budget horror/thriller. Give it a go but be warned that the ending is a bit of a downer... I will give this a 4/10.

Don't Let Him In Movie Review 286

Don't Let Him In is a 2011 British horror movie directed by Kelly Smith and starring Sophie Linfield,Sam Hazeldine and Gordon Alexander.

A killer is busy cutting up body parts in his little lair and a girl has been captured and is distraught. Cut to a group of people going down to Devon for the weekend. They are staying at a house in the countryside.
Paige(Linfield) and her boyfriend Calvin(Rhys Meredith) are accompanied by Calvin's sister Mandy(Gemma Harvey) and her friend Tristan(Alexander). They meet a traveller called Emer and she tells them that there is something evil in the woods. The local policeman calls to them and tells them about a killer who is on the loose. The killer is called The Tree Surgeon as he hangs bits of his victims from trees in the forest. He warns them to stay inside at night. Tristan heads off to get supplies alone and the others wonder if he has come to some harm.Calvin and Mandy go to look for him. Paige is alone in the house when someone comes to the door. It is a guy called Shawn(Hazeldine) and he has been hurt. The others find Tristan and come back to find Shawn there.

Shawn tells them that he was attacked by someone in the woods. They let him stay. Calvin and Tristan go fishing but Calvin sees something that he is not meant to on Tristan's phone and is killed by him. Tristan goes back to the house and tells them that Calvin is staying out longer.Paige is worried about her boyfriend and Shawn offers to go out and look for him. He finds Calvin's dead body and everyone thinks that the Tree Surgeon got him. Tristan attacks Paige and then Shawn attacks Tristan. Tristan hurts Shawn and he tries to get Paige who manages to lock him out. Paige goes to get help but Mandy lets Tristan in, not knowing what happened. He kills her. Tristan goes after Paige and tries to kill her but Shawn stops him by slitting his throat. Paige realises that Shawn is the Tree Surgeon. He brings her to his lair where he is cutting up her friends. She escapes, but he follows her, cornering her at a farmyard. She fights with him and they end up impaled on a spike together....

An okay movie with some interesting bits. It isn't what I would call scary really and some of the characters aren't great, but it was entertaining for a while. Nothing special, but if you like British horror then give it a try. I am rating it a 4/10.

Bloody Birthday Movie Review 285

Bloody Birthday is a 1981 horror movie directed by Ed Hunt and starring Susan Strasberg and Julie Brown.

Three babies are born during an eclipse in 1970 at the start of the movie.Cut to ten years later and a couple are canoodling in the graveyard when they are murdered by unknown assailants and buried.
Sheriff Brody goes to the local school to talk to young kids about the murders.A skipping rope was found at the crime scene and he wants to know if any of them own it. Nobody does. Joyce(Lori Lethin) is a teaching assistant and she asks her little brother Timmy(K.C. Martel) is he saw anything suspicious. He tells her that he didn't. Three of the kids in Timmy's class are a bit dodgy. They are Debbie,Curtis and
Steven who were all born on the same day during an eclipse. What nobody knows is that they are a kiddie killing crew and they take their aggression out on anyone who annoys them.

Timmy discovers their secret and they try and kill him. He tries to warn others but the idea is so far fetched that people don't believe it. Timmy tells Joyce and she eventually believes him. They are now the targets of the psycho trio and they have to try and escape from them. Debbie and her two goons come for them and they have to fight them off. They manage to call the cops and Curtis and Steven are taken away. Debbie, however, is not. She and her mother go into witness protection and they have changed their names etc. They are on the road to their new life and are stopped at a gas station.Debbie has just murdered someone and heads off with her mother proving that she is just an evil ten year old and the killing will continue!!This was an entertaining take on the normal slasher movie and I found it funny with the kids running around killing people. It seemed a bit silly, but good fun and it was different from the usual horror movie so I would recommend it. It is worth a watch and I did have fun  so I will give it a 5/10.

Waxwork Movie Review 284

Waxwork is a 1988 horror/comedy movie directed by Anthony Hickox and starring Zach Galligan and Deborah Foreman.

The movie begins with a new waxwork museum opening in town. Some of the local college kids are invited in by the mysterious owner, David Lincoln(David Warner). They decide to go. Basically the movie is about the displays in the museum. They are all horror scenarios such as The Mummy and Phantom of the Opera. Local people are disappearing around town and Mark(Galligan) and Sarah(Foreman) discover that their friends have been sucked into the displays and are caught in the scenario then turned into waxwork figures. They go to a man called Sir Wilfred(Patrick Macnee) who was a friend of Mark's grandad and he tells them that Mark's grandad collected belongings of evil people and that Lincoln stole them and is using them to bring the baddies to life.

Mark and Sarah have to go back to the waxwork museum and burn it down. The owner sees them and pushes Mark into a zombie display and he is pursued by the undead. Sara enters a display of the Marquis De Sade and she finds that she doesn't want to leave. Mark realises that if he says he doesn't believe that the waxworks are real, they have no power over him. He gets out of the display and goes to rescue Sarah. The Marquis is not happy and tells Mark that he will get revenge. Sarah and Mark have to confront the owner and the displays which are coming to life. They end up killing all of them and they head off thinking that that is the end of it, but they don't see a hand from one of the displays escaping and running off..

An entertaining and harmless horror movie from the 80's, this was fun to watch. I enjoyed all of the different displays and I liked the idea of people getting sucked into them. I would recommend this to anyone, it is worth a watch. I will give it a 5/10.
