The Haunting of La Llorona Movie Review

The Haunting of La Llorona is a 2019 horror movie directed by Dennis Devine and written by Geno McGahee. It stars Kaylin Zeren, Diana Acevedo and Orlando McNary.

The movie begins with a woman who is looking for her daughter, Selma. She finds a crying girl who turns out to be evil. The woman ends up possessed by some evil being. Cut to Cassandra(Zeren) and her boyfriend, Chad(Tyler Coleman), who are arguing. Chad works away from home and he is leaving Cassandra on her own in their house. One night, Cassandra wakes up and she sees a strange woman on her couch. She wakes up Chad and they confront her. She starts crying and then she tries to attack the couple. Chad hits her and they call the cops. The cops know her. They are looking for her daughter who is missing. Chad has to go to work and he tells Cassandra to get a friend to stay with her, as she is still shaken by recent events.

The evil being is called La Llorona(Mari Mijangos) and she is interested in Cassandra for some reason. When a friend of Chad's calls over and tries to come to to Cassandra, La Llorona kills him. Weird things happen in the house. Cassandra is getting nervous. One day, she is out for a run when she is attacked by some guy on the street. She is saved by a homeless girl called Tiffany(Acevedo). Cassandra is so grateful that she invites the girl to stay at her house. Cassandra tells her what happened in the house. She also tells her that strange things have been occurring. Tiffany offers to bring a friend of hers, Fr. Gomez(McNary), over to bless the house. The two women go to visit him and they fill him on the weird happenings. He thinks that Cassandra is just jumpy after seeing the woman in her house. When Fr. Gomez finds out that the woman was La Llorona, he throws them out. He is scared. He has been having visions of the evil woman.

Tiffany and Cassandra find out about La Llorona. She was w woman who killed herself and her children. They think that she is caught in limbo and cannot rest. They decide to try a Ouija board to contact her. She comes. They ask her what they can do to help and she spells out 'die'. Chad returns home and is not impressed to find a homeless woman living in his house. He wants her out of the house. He has a vision of La Llorona and he changes his tune. Chad tells Cassandra what he saw. She goes running and she meets the same guy who tried to attack her. This time, she is possessed by La Llorona and she kills him. La Llonona pays Chad a visit and she kills him. After this, Cassandra starts acting very strangely. Tiffany is worried, especially when she discovers that Cassandra is pregnant..
Cassandra is acting as if everything is fine. She doesn't seem to care that Chad is dead. Tiffany pays a visit to Fr Gomez and she tells him what has happened to Cassandra. He has to face his fears and confront La Lllorona.

SPOILER ALERT!!!He performs an exorcism on Cassandra. He comes face to face with La Llorona. It tries to seduce him but he holds out and continues his exorcism. She knocks him out. He wakes up and starts again. Llorona comes out of Cassandra and Fr. Gomez tells the two women to go. He stands up to La Llorona alone. He tells her to take him instead of Cassandra. She does and he promptly kills himself. The movie ends with Cassandra and Tiffany preparing for the baby. When it does come, Tiffany looks at it and it is possessed!!!!

This was a fun film. I liked the story about La Llorona and there was lots happening in this.
The cast did a good job and I liked the three lead characters. The Fr. Gomez character was a little dubious in parts, but he came good in the end !! I liked the ending too. I would certainly recommend this. It is a low budget horror movie but it is well worth a watch. I enjoyed it!! If you would like to see this, you can get it on Amazon Prime.

My favourite movie posters- Psycho(1960)

I want to explore the movie posters that I really like and there is no better way than to start with my favourite film- Psycho. I find some of these posters really great. I love the artwork and it adds to the fun! I don't think there is any need to explain about Psycho as most people will have seen it or at least heard of it, so I won't go into that here. I have chosen a few posters that I like from different countries.

The first one will be very familiar to everyone. I like the yellow lettering and it was the original theatrical poster.

My next one is from Spain and I think it's a great one. I like the shot of the house and I think that the shot of Anthony Perkins is better than the first poster.

This Italian poster is very interesting, I think.I love the shot of the hands coming out to grab her and it makes the film look more like a horror movie.

The last poster I have picked out is this Alfred Hitchcock one. I love these old posters and this makes me smile.

So, I hope that you have enjoyed my pick of Psycho posters. I know there are so many that I could show, but that would take too much time. I like these four and I look forward to showing you many more as I go through all of my favourites!

Steve tries to talk to Carol about it but she tries to get him back. He pushes her off and she is mad. She calls Julie to tell her that the initiation is tonight. The girls collect her. They drive her to a mausoleum. They tell her that she has to stay there for one night. They lock her inside. She looks around. Raymar's corpse is in there and his crypt is opening. Steve calls to see Julie but finds out she has gone. Meanwhile, Olivia is listening to her father on the tape. He has very strong energy. The sisters are at the mausoleum. The dead drop. His power has gone. He is dead(again). Julie and Steve are okay.

This film was quite entertaining. It got a bit slow in the middle, but it picked up near the end. The cast were good and it was good 80's fun. The zombies were so so but I can let that go. I hadn't heard of this film before when I came upon it and it was certainly worth a watch. The setting of the mausoleum was interesting. It was fun seeing Adam West in this. Meg Tilly is young here, but she plays her part well. All in all, this is enjoyable so give it a chance if you like 80's horror. I will give it a 5/10.

Rogue Movie Review

Rogue is a 2007 horror movie directed by Greg McLean and starring Sam Worthington, Radha Mitchell and Michael Vartan.

The movie begins in the Northern Territory in Australia. A crocodile comes out of the water and attacks a cow. It is a big crocodile. An American called Pete McKell(Vartan) is taking a wildlife tour. It is a tour watching crocodiles in the river. He is with a few others. The wildlife expert leading the tour is called Kate Ryan(Mitchell). They see some crocs and meet two guys in the water. They are Neil(Worthington) and Collin. Kate knows them and she moves the tour back to the start. They see a flare in the sky. Kate needs to see if someone needs rescuing. They find an upturned boat and something hits their boat. Their boat fills with water. They have to stop. The radio isn't working. Everyone starts to panic. They need to cross the river.  A crocodile is in the river. Pete is worried.
Neil and Collin pass them, but don't help. The crocodile knocks their boat over and  Collin gets attacked. Neil is okay. They end up on an island in the middle of the river. They need to move though, as by nighttime, the island will be covered with water.

Neil decides to swim across and set up a line for them to climb across.  Neil swims over and he meets the crocodile. He is killed. One of the tourists falls off the line and gets eaten too. Pete finds a huge hook and he wants to keep the croc still while they cross over. They find dead fish to use. They get ready to swim across. The crocodile comes. They have to run for it. Kate is still in the water. The crocodile attacks her. Pete swims to save her. She is gone. Pete finds a cave and he falls down into a cavern filled with water. There are dead bodies there and Kate is in there too. The crocodile is coming back to its lair. He wants his food. The crocodile goes for a sleep. Pete wants to get Kate out. The crocodile wakes up  and chases him. He injures it. He has a spike and he sticks it into the crocodile. He kills it. He carries Kate out and the police have come. The survivors from the tour are there. Kate is airlifted to hospital.

I really liked this film. It was a lot of fun and there were some great scenes with the crocodile. It had a good story and I liked the monster croc. It had a good cast too including John Jarratt! This is a pretty straightforward movie. I mean, it is a story of man versus crocodile but it works very well. I had a good time watching this and I highly recommend it. I enjoyed it a lot. I will give it an 8/10.

Paul wants to go inside and look around. They are caught by a guy called Jim(Martin Jay). They tell him why they are there. It was his voice on the radio, along with his sister Tina(Kate Silver) but he says that it wasn't them. Martha looks around. She sees weird things and gets frightened. Jim and Paul take her outisde to tcalm her down.

There is a camper van outside. It belongs to Jim. Tina is there and a guy called Mark and a girl, Susan. Tina sees a child with a doll on her tv. Blood is coming from the child's eyes. The camper van shakes with her inside. Jim also sees the child, who is a little girl. Tina wanders into the house. She disovers Jim dead. There is a dog inside the house too and a weird guy, who tries to attack Tina. She manages to escape. Mark chases the weirdo and he tries to take him down. He gets hurt. Paul is looking for Jim. He finds his dead body. Tina tells Martha about the little girl. Martha finds a strange doll. Its face changes. A clown attacks her. She is hysterical when Paul finds her.

The police are called. They take Jim's dead body away. A cop called Ferguson(William J. Devany) tells the group about a double murder which took place in the house twenty years earlier. A little girl called Henrietta was found in the cellar, dead. The police are looking for the caretaker guy. Everyone is going to leave. Paul is convinced that they received a telepathic message. He discovers that a man called Sam Baker had a funeral home and that he was Henrietta's father. Tina and the others are going to leave but their camper van stops working. Paul and Martha visit the funeral home. They talk to the new owner. He tells them that Sam uses to steal things from the dead bodies. He gets her out of the crypt. Mark is in the house, looking for Tina and Susan. He finds a little girl and her doll. He also finds Tina's dead body. He falls through the floor into some sort of slime. He climbs out but gets stabbed by Susan, who doesn't realise it is him. She ends up in the crypt and shees Henrietta, who is a skeleton like creature. Paul pours gasoline over it. He sets it alights and it burns. Susan is saved. The police come and take the dead bodies away. Everything is fine. Right? Wrong. Susan leaves. Martha sees the evil doll in the window of the house as they leave. Poor Paul gets run over by a bus. Happy ending!

This is a weird film. Really weird. Stuff just happens for no reason and the whole thing is very strange. I liked parts of it and there were some creepy scenes, but this is not a great film. It is watchable but the acting is bad and sometimes, it was just silly. Having said that, it was one that I had on my list for quite a while and I am glad that I got around to watching it. Despite the flaws, this is not a bad way to spend 90 minutes. It is a ghost story at heart so I would recommend it as such. I will give this one a 5/10.

The Beast Must Die Movie Review

The Beast Must Die is a 1974 horror movie directed by Paul Annett and starring Peter Cushing, Michael Gambon, Calvin Lockhart, Charles Gray and Anton Diffring.

A  man is being chases by a helicopter. There are cameras everywhere. He is caught and he is shot. A group of people see it. It is not real. It is just a trick. The man is called Tom(Lockhart) and hie a millionaire. He has microphones and cameras installed in his house and the grounds. A man called Pavel(Diffring) installed them. Tom talks to the group of people. He has invited them to his house for a reason. They are all suspected of doing things that are bad. They are Arthur(Gray) who is a diplomat, Paul Foote(Tom Chadbon) who is just out of prison,  Professor Lundgren(Cushing) who is a werewolf expert and Jan Gilmore(Gambon) who is a pianist and his wife Davina(Ciaran Madden). Tom has his wife Caroline(Marlene Clark) with him also. Tom tells them that one of them is a werewolf and he wants to find out who it is.

Lundgren talks about werewolves and he explains how a werewolf comes into being. Jan hands around a silver candlestick to smoke out the werewolf. Lundgren says that there needs to be wolfs bane growing in the area. Tom has it in his greenhouse. Someone tries to kill him. That night, it is a full moon. Tom brings in his wolfs bane and he and Pavel wait to see what will happen. They see something on the camera. Tom goes after it. It goes inside the house and Tom comes back in and finds Pavel dead. He has been killed by the werewolf. Tom looks around for his suspect, Paul, but he is asleep. Davina decides she wants to leave with Jan. Tom disables their car and all of the cars. He cuts off the telephones. He is acting crazy. Tom is obsessed with finding the werewolf. Paul goes missing. Tom gets into his helicopter and goes looking for him. He sees the werewolf. It fights with the dog and it kills the pilot. Tom shoots at it. He is sure that it is Paul.

Tom hands everyone a silver bullet to put into their mouths. It turns out that his wife Caroline, has been turned into a werewolf.. She was infected by the dog who was also bitten. Paul gets killed. The mystery hasn't been solved. Who is the werewolf??? Tom is stalking it. He sees it and follows it. He has one silver bullet left in his gun. There is a fight and Tom manages to kill it. It turns out that the werewolf was....Jan! There is a little snag, though. Tom has been infected!!! The film ends with Tom shooting himself as he does not want to be a werewolf.

This was a very entertaining film. I enjoyed the mystery and trying to work out who the werewolf was. The cast were great and the premise was interesting to me. This is a fun horror movie from Amicus who are better known for their anthologies. Cushing does his job well and I liked Lockhart in his role as Tom. All in all, this is a good horror movie and a mystery also. I would certainly recommend it. I will give it a 7/10.

Searching Movie Review

Searching is a 2018 thriller directed by Aneesh Chaganty and starring John Cho and Debra Messing.

The film begins with a man called David(Cho) who is a widower. His wife died of cancer a few years ago. He has a teenage daughter called Margot. She doesn't spend much time with him since her mother died. They have drifted apart. David is on his computer looking at videos and pictures of his wife and daughter. Margot tells him that she going out to a friend's house for a study group. She calls him late that night, but he is asleep and he doesn't hear the call. The next day, he calls her back, but it goes straight to voicemail. He messages her but gets no reply either. He calls her piano teacher to see if she is there, but he is told that Margot cancelled her lessons months ago. David tries to log into her social media accounts. He realises that he doesn't know any of her friends.

David tries to find her friends numbers and he speaks to the mother of one of them. She says that Margot was supposed to go on a camping trip  with her son and that she is probably with him. It turns out that Margot didn't show up. David calls the police. He is called by a detective called Rosemary Vick. David logs into Margot's Facebook and he calls all of the friends he finds there. He discovers that a lot of them didn't really know her. She was a bit of a loner. He talks to the girl who was holding the study group and she says that Margot was at the study group until 9 o'clock. The police have CCTV footage and they see Margot in her car. She was driving away on a road out of town. She was saving the money that she was supposed to be spending on her piano classes. She took out $2,500.
David finds a friend of hers called Derek. He is a bad guy. He tells David that he was at a concert the night Margot disappeared. Rosemary discovers a fake driving licence with a different name on it.
She thinks that maybe Margot ran away.

David sees videos that Margot made. She was talking to some person called fish n chips. The person says that they are a waitress. David finds a picture of a lake where Margot used to go. He finds out that she travelled there. Her car is found by the lake. Margot isn't there. There is blood inside it.
The money is discovered inside the car. The case is on the news and  everyone seems to want to be a part of it. Derek gets beaten up by David when he puts up stuff on his Facebook page about Margot.
Rosemary tells David that he can't be a part of the investigation any longer. David suspects his brother but he is wrong. Rosemary tells David that she has found the guy responsible. The guy kills himself so that seems to be the end of that. David sees a familiar face on a funeral website. It belongs to fish n chips, the person that Margot was chatting with. It turns out that the picture belongs to a model and not the person.

David realises that something is not making sense. He finds out that Rosemary volunteered the take the case. She knew the suspect who confessed. She is dodgy. David goes to a memorial for Margot and she is there. He brings the cops with him and she is arrested. She confesses that she tried to cover up the crime because of her son. She says that he killed Margot by pushing her into a ravine and that he was fish n chips. He liked Margot and he pretended to be someone else. Margot withdrew the money to give to fish n chips because  he said that his mother was sick. He followed Margot to the lake and she got freaked out. He pushed her and she fell..Rosemary told him that she would take care of it. She manufactured information and she used a convict to confess. She takes the heat for her son. It looks bad for Margot as they go and search for her. It turns out that there was a storm and there would be enough water for her to live on for a few days. She is alive. She survives her ordeal.

I really enjoyed this film. It is unusual as we see everything from the point of view of cameras, smart phones and computers. I liked the story and I thought that the cast were good. I thought that this was a story about abduction at first, then a murder story, but it turned out to be a different story. The only thing that I would complain about is the happy ending. It seemed unbelievable that she would have survived all of that. It just seemed too neat. I would have preferred a more realistic ending. Other than that, there is nothing bad about this. I found it enjoyable and I definitely recommend it. I will give it a 7/10.

Ingunn gets attacked. The killer has a pick axe. Erik is going to go to get help. He gets attacked also.

Jannicke finds blood when she goes to look for Ingunn. She knows that something bad has happened. Mikal is upset. They realise that there is a killer around there. Mikal wants to find Ingunn and he looks for her. The killer spots him and chases him. Mikal tells the others that there is some guy out there. The killer is after them.

Jannicke leaves Morten and she makes a run for it alone. She finds a shotgun. She turns out the lights and goes into the killers workshop. Erik is there and he is still alive.

The killer sees Morten. Jannicke decides that they need to lure the killer out and shoot him with the gun. The killer arrives, but he kills Erik in front of them. Morten tells her to go and leave him behind as he can't go far. He faces the killer himself and of course, he gets killed. Jannicke gets caught by the killer. She wakes up and she finds herself with the dead bodies on a cart. He is pulling them along. He dumps the bodies into a ravine. She grabs Morten's pocket knife and stabs the killer in the neck. There is a fight. She grabs his pick axe. She pulls off his mask and it is revealed that he is the boy from the beginning of the film. She stabs him and pushes him into the ravine. It is revealed that the boys parents left him to die in the snow. The movie ends with Jannicke alive and exhausted.

This is a decent slasher film. I enjoyed it. It is well made and there is lots of tension throughout.
I liked the cast and I liked the story. The eerie ski lodge was a good setting for this and the killer looks quite creepy. I had not really heard of this but it was recommended to me and I found it entertaining and fun. It does have subtitles so be warned if you don't like them. All in all, this is a good slasher film with lots of action and a good ending. I recommend it and I give it a 6/10.

Terrifier Movie Review

Terrifier is a 2017 horror movie directed by Damien Leone and starring David Howard Thornton, Jenna Kanell and Samantha Scaffidi.

The movie begins with a woman who is on a TV show. She says that she was survivor of a massacre. She is disfigured. Art the clown is the one who is the killer but everyone thinks that he is dead. The show host gets attacked by the woman. The movie cuts to a story about two girls, Tara(Kanell) and Dawn(Catherine Corcoran)`who have been at a Halloween party. They see a weird clown on the street. He disappears and they go into a diner for something to eat. He suddenly appears again and one of the girls, Tara, feels really creeped out by him. Her pal Dawn, is drunk and she thinks that he is funny looking as he is dressed in a black and white clown outfit. She wants a selfie with him. He doesn't like that. He has a big bag with him. The owner throws him out when he sees that the clown has defaced the bathroom. The girls leave, thinking that they won't see him again. Art comes back to the restaurant and he kills the owner.

Tara needs to use the bathroom so she approaches a guy who is working in a building and asks him if she can. He lets her inside. Dawn is left with their car, which is not working. They have called her sister to come and collect them. Dawn hears about murders on the radio. There is a homicidal clown running around. She realises that they saw him earlier. Art sits into the car with her.  Meanwhile, Tara is on her way back from the bathroom when she meets a weird lady. She has a doll with her. The clown appears. He chases her. He manages to stab her in the leg but she takes his scalpel and she injures him. Tara looks for a way out of the building which is large. The whole place is locked up. Art catches up with her and he injects her. She wakes up tied to a chair. Art is there and so is her friend, Dawn. She is hanging upside down. Art grabs a hacksaw and he cuts her in half in front of Tara.
She manages to escape and hits him with a plank of wood.

They struggle and he shoots her. Tara's sister, Victoria(Scaffidi) comes to collect them. She looks into their car and she sees nobody. She calls Tara. Art sees that someone is calling and he sends her a text message, telling her to come around the back way. He kills Tara. The weird lady sees what he is doing and she runs off. She talks to the guy who let Tara in. His name is Mike and he is there killing bugs. She tells him to call the cops. He thinks that she is a crazy person and he doesn't take notice of her. He gets hit on the head by Art. Victoria comes into the building looking for the girls. The crazy lady can't find her doll. Art has it. She pleads with him to give it back.

Victoria finds Dawn dead and she runs. She also hears screams and goes to see what is happening.
Art has killed the crazy lady. Art sees Victoria and he chases her. He tries to suffocate her but she stabs him in the foot. Mike is still alive after being hit. Victoria finds Tara dead. Art tries to attack her again, but Mike hits him. He takes Victoria off and finds a phone. He calls the police but he gets killed by Art. Victoria runs off, followed by the clown. She hears sirens. Art drives a truck into Victoria and while she is down, he eats her face! He seems to kill himself when the cops show up at the scene. Cut to the coroner who has the bodies. Art isn't dead, of course! One year later and Victoria is released from hospital. It is revealed that she was the survivor from the beginning of the film.

So, this was a fun film overall. There was plenty of gore and there were lots of cat and mouse chase scenes thrown in. Art is pretty terrifying, hence the title. I don't like clowns and this didn't do much to change that!!! It was enjoyable and there were some moments that were creepy. Art the clown is a good villain and the lack of motive that he has makes him even weirder. What is his story? Why does he kill people?I know that Art was also in an anthology film called All Hallows Eve(2013) by the same director, which I haven't gotten around to watching yet. I will certainly look at that, as I enjoyed this one a lot. I recommend this if you like clown horror. It won't disappoint!! I will give it a 7/10.

Nail Gun Massacre Movie Review

Nail Gun Massacre is a 1985 horror movie directed by Terry Lofton and Bill Leslie and starring Michelle Meyer, Beau Leland and Rocky Patterson.

The film starts with a young woman called Linda(Meyer) who is gang raped at a construction site.
A few months later, someone is walking into a house with a nail gun. This person shoots a man in the head with it. His wife sees it and runs away. Two men are outside chopping wood. The killer shows up and disposes of them easily. The local Sheriff Thomas(Ron Queen) finds an abandoned truck in the road. He finds the dead bodies. He calls in Doctor Rocky Jones(Patterson) to look. They wonder if it is Old Lady Bailey as the bodies were found on her land. The nail gun killer gets another victim.
Two guys and a girl are moving into a house in the area. They are going to renovate it. They are Maxine, Tom and John. Some other people show up in town looking for work. They are Hal, Ben, Ann and Trish. They go to the construction site to ask about work. They learn that there is work going on at Maxine's house, so they go there.

The Sheriff finds the killers car. The killer is on the prowl and finds Hal and Ann having sex. That means certain death! Trish and Ben are there too and they wonder where their friends went. Ben goes to see where they are and gets nailed to a tree. Trish is left alone and she meets Maxine, Tom and John and tells them that her pals have gone AWOL. They look around and find the dead bodies of Ben, Hal and Ann. They call the Sheriff and wonder what the hell is going on. The killer visits the construction site where Linda was raped and kills two of the participants. The killer then wanders around town nailing victims! Doctor Jones calls a friend of his and asks for a profile of the killer. The Sheriff investigates the construction company and realises that there is a connection with the killer.
They think that the killer could be Linda's brother, Bubba, who owns the company.

They visit Linda and they look for Bubba. The killer is still murdering people. There is a confrontation between the killer and Doctor Jones. He crashes into the killer's car. The killer bolts but they catch him. The killer ends up falling and dying before they can catch him. They unmask him and it is Bubba. Linda is shocked that her brother was the one slaughtering people with his trusty nail gun. The movie ends with them walking away. This film was funny in parts because it was so cheaply made. It was bad but in a good way. I didn't think that I would enjoy it, but it was actually entertaining for the most part. I had fun with it and I just went with it. The nail gun thing was actually a good idea, I thought. Give this a chance if you enjoy cheaply made 80's movies. It is worth a look. I will be kind and give this one a 5/10.

The Witches Movie Review

The Witches a.k.a The Devil's Own is a 1966 Hammer horror movie directed by Cyril Frankel and starring Joan Fontaine.

In Africa, a woman called Gwen Mayfield(Fontaine) is teaching school. She gets caught up in a riot of the local witch doctors and she is cornered in her school. She screams as they approach her. She has a nervous breakdown afterwards. Cut to Gwen, who is back home in England. She has come to a village called Heddaby. She is going for an interview to be the new teacher. She meets the Reverend Alan Bax(Alec McCowen) and chats to him. He gives her the job and she meets his journalist sister, Stephanie(Kay Walsh). Gwen goes to the cottage where she will live and she meets her maid, Valerie(Michele Dotrice). She asks Valerie where the church is and finds out that there is none. Alan isn't a real Reverend. He shows Gwen the ruins of the old church. Alan wanted to be a priest, but he couldn't so he pretends to be.

Gwen meets Sally, the other teacher. Gwen gets caught up in a situation with a young girl called Linda, who is courting a boy called Ronnie. The locals do not like it. Linda misses school. Gwen gets a not saying that Linda's grandmother has hurt her. Gwen calls to see her but is met by hostility by grandma. The grandma has an evil cat who follows Gwen. Ronnie suddenly becomes ill and is taken away  in an ambulance. Ronnie's mother has an argument with the grandma over it. Linda's doll is found with pins sticking into it. Gwen talks to Stephanie about witchcraft and Stephanie wants to write a piece about it.  She wants Gwen to help her.  Ronnie is taken away from the village by his mother.

Weird things start to happen around the village and Gwen wonders if there is witchcraft there. She sees witch doctor symbols and she faints. She wakes up in hospital. She thinks she is having another nervous breakdown. She tries to work out what is going on. She escapes from the hospital and she goes back to the village. She finds Stephanie and stays with her. She wanders around and visits the old church. She discovers that Stephanie and the rest of the village are in a coven. They want her to be one of them Stephanie is going to call the Devil by sacrificing Linda. She wants to live longer by using Linda.  Gwen stops it by cutting herself and ruining the ritual. Stephanie dies. It turns out that Stephanie was the real evil and controlled all of the others. Everyone seems to wake up and the movie ends with the village returning to normal and the villagers happy.

I enjoyed this film. It was a good Hammer horror movie. There isn't much in the way of scares in this, but it is entertaining and fun. Fontaine is good in the lead role and I liked the ending where she discovers the witches. This is worth a look for anyone who enjoys old horror movies and I recommend it! I will give it a 6/10.

What Have You Done to Solange? Movie Review

What Have You Done to Solange? is a 1972 giallo  movie directed by Massimo Dallamano and starring Fabio Testi, Cristina Galbo and Joachim Fuchsberger.

A couple are kissing and the girl, Elizabeth(Galbo) sees a girl being killed. Her lover, Enrico(Testi) is angry but they look around and there is nothing to see. Elizabeth says that she saw a knife. Enrico doesn't believe her until he hears about the murder on the radio. He realises that she was telling the truth. Enrico goes back to the same spot for another look. He is a teacher at a school, St. Mary's college. The police are there. They show photographs of the girl. Enrico is spotted in a photograph at the crime scene. The cops ask him questions. They ask him where he was. He lies and he says that he was alone at the time. He is actually having an affair with a student. He is married. The cops find a pen at the crime scene. Enrico rents a flat and he asks his lover, Elizabeth over to see him. Someone follows her.  Enrico gets a phone call but there is nobody there. Inspector Barth(Fuchsberger) comes over to see him and has the pen. Enrico's wife says that it is his pen. He confesses to being with Elizabeth.

The killer strikes again. Elizabeth has dreams about the killing. She calls Enrico as she is scared. She says the killer was wearing a priest's outfit. She tells the principal of the school . The priests there are not happy. The killer breaks into Enrico's flat drowns Elizabeth as she is there waiting for Enrico. The cops take Enrico into custody but Barth doesn't think that he is the killer. The inspector interviews the landlord. He says that he saw someone and that he had a beard. The cops let Enrico go. Barth comes into the school and he asks the students about a priest. There is a priest who comes there sometimes. One of the dead girls took confession from that priest. Enrico goes to see the boyfriend of one of the dead girls. He tells him about a girl called Solange(Camille Keaton) who went missing.
Enrico asks some of the school girls about Solange.

The girls are hiding something. One of the girls gets a call to meet her boyfriend at an amusement park. The police know and they are going to be there to see what happens. Solange is there also. One of the girls talks to her. She asks the girl to come with her. The girl asks her why she disappeared. The girl disappears with Solange and she is led to the killer who murders her. The truth comes out when the cops find out that Solange was the school Principal's daughter. She was in a club with the girls from the school but she got pregnant. They forced her to have an abortion against her will. Her father confesses to the police that he murdered all of the other girls in the club in revenge for what happened. His daughter went insane after the abortion and he blamed them for what happened to Solange. He dressed as a priest and put on a beard to disguise himself. He gets a gun from his desk and he shoots himself in the head.

I enjoyed this film. I liked the mystery throughout and the reveal at the end was fun. I liked the creepy feel and there were some pretty brutal killings in this one. The cast were pretty good and the story had some twists and turns which is always entertaining. If you enjoy giallo movies, then I would recommend this one. There is a lot to enjoy and it kept me guessing until the very end. I will give this a 6/10.
