I am back again, but this time with a modern classic- Roadkill or Joyride(whichever you like). I like this movie a lot. I think that it has some great scenes and I love the tension throughout it. I watched this the first time and I really enjoyed it. It begins with Lewis(Paul Walker) buying a car to drive across country to pick up his girlfriend Venna(Leelee Sobieski). He finds out that his brother(Steve Zahn) is in jail in Salt Lake City so he takes a detour to pick him up. They get a CB radio installed into the car and that is where the fun begins.
They begin talking to truckers, pretending that they are hot women and laughing about it. Until they come to one trucker in particular. His name is Rusty Nail and the guys pretend to be a gal.
Rusty Nail wants to meet him so they lure him to a motel and set him up with a guy. Rusty Nail doesn't take too kindly to this and he hurts the guy. The two brothers are very scared now. Then begins a cat-and-mouse chase between Rusty Nail , the two guys and the girlfriend.
Rusty Nail will not give up and they find themselves at his mercy time and time again. He kidnaps the girl and threatens to kill her unless they meet him and he tries to kill them but to no avail. In the end, they get away, but Rusty Nail also lives to see another day(He is back in the sequel). It is a good thriller and I like the fact that the evil trucker isn't revealed. There is a sequel to this movie and I saw it recently. It is called Joy Ride 2:Dead Ahead(2008). It isn't as good as the original, but it is worth seeing all the same.
