On this day a year ago Jigsaws Lair was born! I cannot believe it has been a year already.For a while before this blog started I was commenting and reviewing on IMDB and other peoples blogs.That was fun but I began to think that it would be nice to have them all in one place.Then I said I may as well start up a blog.The problem was that I knew nothing about how to do it and what it involves.After researching it all on the net I started up this page that you are looking at right now Jigsaws Lair. My original gripe with reviews on the net is its hard to know what is worth watching and getting information about a movie.Sometimes all you want to know is what the movies about,who is in it and should you spend your time watching it.That is my whole ethos here at Jigsaws Lair.
I am just a regular guy who likes a good movie that will keep me entertained for the usual hour and a half.I am not a Revolutionary Road kind of guy as you may have seen from my review!! Though I gave it a chance like any other film.I went into seeing it with an open mind but came out thoroughly bored.I would say there are a lot of people like me who thought the same thing about it but nearly every review says the movie is brilliant.I use this movie as an example of what you can see online.You might read a review of it and think, well Leonardo Dicaprio is in it and they say its great so it must be good.Still if you do like that type of movie then you will know the plot and who is in it by the end of my review.That is what I think most people want to know when they look up a movie online.You might not care what we think about a movie but at least you will get information about it and you can go make up your own mind.That's why I like to hear what other people thought of movies we have seen so your comments are always welcome.
So I started setting up the blog...........what would I call it? Who would visit? Who did I want to visit? As I love the Saw movie franchise I christened myself Jigsaw and Jigsaws Lair was a natural title.I wanted movie fans that don't just watch the number one film at the box office and nothing else to visit.Obviously people who like Saw and movies like that.The only drawback to calling the blog Jigsaws Lair is people assume I only like horror movies.I love Sci Fi stuff in particular also but I would watch any movie such as comedies and thrillers too.I do not like the pigeon hole of horror movie blog so I began to review books I read and TV shows that I watch also.I figured that people would be like me also and like one blog with a lot of entertainment on it.It turns out that I am right as can be seen from visitors who look at everything I put up on the blog.The main focus of the blog is and always will be movie reviews though.
I like to comment on anything that happens in the world so things that I feel strongly about, such as the election of President Obama, can get a post also which may seem a bit weird to some on an entertainment blog.I reserve the right to put anything I like on my blog though and as you can see under the title of the blog it says "A trip into my Lair for an examination of who and what is worthy".I'm not here to preach or convert anyone to what I think so do not take posts like that that way.I love a good debate so your comments are always welcome even if you totally disagree with me.You might say to yourself that you love Obama and you don't care what I think and that's fine too.You might just like the reviews that I do and nothing else so keep visiting!!

Congratulations on your first year!
I started following your blog not long after you started it, and the more it grew and I read the posts, the more I began to enjoy it.
There are two blogs on the internet that I would considered tied for my favorite blog, and this is one of them. I can't find another in my reader that has more stars. Not only do I star the posts so I can go back and read them, but I also hold on to them so I can be sure to watch some of the movies you've recommended.
Your blog is very entertaining, but also informative at the same time. It's a great combination. I hope you continue to keep up the hard work (I know it is), because if Jigsaw's Lair fades away, I know I would miss it tremendously.
