Megaboa Movie Review

Megaboa is a 2021 horror film directed by Mario N. Bonassin and starring Eric Roberts.

The film begins in the rainforest. Hunters are after something. They see a gigantic snake and they try to shoot it. One of them runs off and the snake follows. Cut to Professor Malone(Roberts) who brings some of his  college students to the rainforest to look for cave drawings. They are Allison(Michelle Elizabeth O' Shea), Grace(Emilia Torello), Adam(Garrett Schulte), Benji(Vimala Veera) and Jason(Jadon Cal). One of the hunters from the start of the film turns up. His name is Joaquin(Joe Herrara). He tells them that he has lost his partner, Rex. The professor offers him a lift on the helicopter they used to come to the forest. Malone ends up getting bitten by a strange spider. He calls the helicopter company who tell him that they can't come and collect him because of bad weather.

Joaquin tells him that he needs a special orchid to help with the bite. The students ask him to show them the tree where it grows. Benji stays with Malone as the others go to get the flower with Joaquin. Benji has a drone. She sends it off to look around the island where they are. The others find the tree. It is covered in snakes! Adam offers to climb the tree to get the flower. The group see the huge snake. They run away. Jason gets separated from the group. The snake gets him. The others want to go back and get him. The helicopter company try to get a pilot to fly and collect the group on the island. A pilot called Jake(Michael DeVorzon) says he will go. 

Adam decides to climb the tree and get the flower. He can't do it and he falls and hurts himself.  Joaquin has dynamite. He wants to kill the snake. The group discover that Joaquin already knew about the huge snake. He tells them that the snake killed his friend. Benji looks at the footage from the drone. She sees the Megaboa. Grace insists on going on despite the fact that there is a huge snake slithering around. The group have to run back to their base. They find Joaquin who is planning to blow up the snake. They try but they fail. Adam is the next one to die. The others run off. They end up in a cave. They find cave paintings. That isn't all they find. They discover a huge spider!!!! It meets the huge snake and there is a battle. The spider loses.

The professor and Benji are looking for the group. They find Adam's shoe. They also find more snakes.

Joaquin and the remaining survivors get ready for battle. The Megaboa shows up and it is obvious there will be a showdown! Joaquin has a score to settle with the giant serpent so he tries to distract it while the others run. It takes his life. The others get away. The snake seems to get killed by chemicals or acid. The professor and Benji reunite with the others. The snake is moving. They run, realising that it will come for them again. The group attack it with a machete and they kill it as it has been weakened. Their helicopter comes and rescues them. On the island, an even bigger snake devours the Megaboa!!!!What do you call that snake then- a mega mega boa???

This film is funny. Of course, you can figure that out from the title. It also has Eric Roberts, who has been in some pretty dire films, but we love him! I think that this film is just silly fun and I had a good time watching it, so it is worth a look. You know what you are getting so just enjoy it for what it is. I can't give this a great score, but it was fun so I will be kind and give it a 4/10.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It Movie Review.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is a 2021 horror movie and the third film in the Conjuring series. It is directed by Michael Chaves and stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga.

We are already familiar with The Warrens so this is a continuation of their investigations into paranormal activities. This time, they are at a house where a child is possessed by a demon. He stabs his father in the leg. A priest arrives and the Warrens tell him to exorcise the kid. The demon is strong and he almost takes Ed(Patrick Wilson). Lorraine is affected by this. The demon goes from the boy who is called David, into his sister's boyfriend, Arne(Ruairi O'Connor), who is also there. Cut to Ed, who is in hospital after the ordeal. He has had a heart attack. He knows that the Devil has gotten Arne. Arne is acting strangely and he is also seeing things. Arne murders his landlord by stabbing him twenty two times. He claims that he was possessed when he did it. He is caught and arrested and put into prison, The Warrens believe that he was possessed when he committed murder.

David and his family move into a new house. David is almost pulled into his bed by something. Lorraine Warren(Farmiga) looks around David's house and finds a totem. Ed tells her that David and his family are cursed by it. They visit a retired priest called Kastner(John Noble). They show him the picture of the totem and he shows them his collection of satanic items. Arne continues to see things in prison. The Warrens speak to a homicide detective and he tells them that he has seen the totem before. He tells them about a case of two girls who went missing. The relic turned up at one of their houses. He is looking for a girl called Jessica. The other girl is dead.

Lorraine has a vision and she sees the two girls. She sees one girl kill the other. She tells the police that Jessica fell into the river. They find the body. The homicide detective believes that Lorraine can see things. She and Ed break into the morgue and Lorraine touches the dead body but she doesn't feel anything strange. She is looking for the person who placed the curse. She sees the woman in a vision. The woman tries to make Arne kill himself but Lorraine stops her. Lorraine visits Kastner and he reveals that he has a daughter, Isla. This was prohibited by his vows as priest but he raised her anyway. She had a fascination with the occult. He tells her that there are tunnels under his house and maybe her lair is in there. They need to destroy her altar to break the curse. Isla shows up and she kills the priest.

Lorraine finds the altar. She tries to destroy it. Ed figures out where she is and goes to help her. Isla catches Lorraine trying to destroy her altar. Ed turns up and finds her. Lorraine hits Isla with a rock but she manages to get control of Ed and tries to get him to kill Lorraine. It doesn't work and Ed smashes her altar. He saves himself, Lorraine and Arne. The demon arrives and it takes Isla's soul. All is well.

There is a scene at the end where Ed puts a cup he got from Isla's altar into their museum along with their other creepy objects. We find out that Arne serves a short term in prison and marries his girlfriend. 

He is apparently back to normal.

This was a pretty good film. I didn't think that it was as good as the first film or the second. Saying that, I liked it. These films are always quite good. If you enjoyed the other two, then you will enjoy this. The acting is fine. The story is interesting and there is enough to keep you entertained. I will give this a 6/10.

Edge of the Axe Movie Review

Edge of the Axe is a 1989 horror movie directed by Jose Ramon and starring Barton Faulks and Christina Marie Lane.

The film opens with a woman being killed at the carwash. Cut to a woman who is alone in her house. She has a farm with pigs. She finds a pigs head in her bed. Her husband goes to the Sheriff about it but he isn't interested. A man called Gerald(Faulks) and Richard(Page Moseley), an exterminator,are going to investigate a bad smell coming from the cellar in a bar. They go down and they find the remains of a local woman. The cops come and take her away. The Sheriff doesn't seem too worried about it. He says that Paddock is a quiet town. Gerald meets a girl called Lillian(Lane) and she likes computers, just like Gerald. A local woman is murdered and her body is found on train tracks. The Sheriff thinks that it was an accident at first. He asks questions around town and he talks to a man called Broderick who slept with the dead woman.

Gerald gives Lillian his computer. Another woman meets her end. Gerald has a list of the murdered women on his computer. The lady who has a pig farm gets killed and one her pig's heads is put in her bed. Richard is with a woman called Susan on the lake when they discover a severed head. The killer is after another local woman and the Sheriff has no clues. Lillian tells Gerald about a cousin of hers called Charlie. She pushed him off a swing when they were children and he was brain damaged afterwards.

He ended up in a mental institution but he was released. Lillian worries that he will come and get revenge on her. She looks for information on him. She wonders if he might be the one killing women in Paddock.

Richard's wife, Laura, is the next to meet the killer. Lillian is home alone and she hears noises. It turns out that Gerald is there. She accuses him of being the killer. He turns it around and says that she is the one who was hit on the head as a child and who was in a psychiatric hospital. She denies it and the two end up fighting. She has an axe and she tries to kill him. he chases her and they run outside where the cops are pulling up. They see Gerald chasing her and they shoot him dead. Lillian makes out that she is a victim and they believe her. They pin the murders on Gerald as Lillian smiles...

This was an entertaining film. It wasn't as good as I had hoped but there were some good moments.

I thought that it would be better. There are some twists and turns but the ending wasn't great. I liked it but it is a middle of the road slasher, in my opinion. I will give it a 5/10.

Mardi Gras Massacre Movie Review

Mardi Gras Massacre is a 1978 horror movie directed by Jack Weis and starring Curt Dawson and William Metzo.

A man approaches two ladies. He says that he is new in the city and he wants something different. He has a lot of money. He asks them who is the most evil girl in the bar. They tell him that a hooker called Shirley is. He says that he has a place and he offers Shirley two hundred dollars to come with him. She can't turn that down so she goes to his place. He orders her to strip and he ties her to a special table. He dresses up in robes and he pours oil on her. He tells her that he will sacrifice her. He kills her. Her body is discovered and the cops are called. The coroner tells them that it is a ritual killing. The cops ask the bartender about it. He tells the cops that she gave him some money to hold for her. They talk to a pal of Shirley's and she tells them that the guy had an unusual ring.

The investigating cop is Sergeant Frank Hebert(Dawson). He meets another hooker called Sherry and he has dinner with her. He also sleeps with her. The killer, John(Metzo) picks up another lady and he kills her. Frank has another case to investigate. The killer goes to pick up yet another girl but he gets in a fight with her pimp and he stabs the guy. He decides to visit a different bar. He meets another pimp who offers him one of his girls. She goes with him to her place but he decides that he likes her and she doesn't deserve to die. He tells her to go, but she won't. He is annoyed so he kills her. The cops are under pressure. Mardi Gras is coming up and they worry that the killer will strike again. They scour the bars. This time, the killer wants three girls and he is going to kill them on Mardi Gras. Frank is in the crowd but so is the killer. He takes three girls and one of them just happens to be Sherry.

The three girls are drugged. Frank goes to the bar and asks the bartender about Sherry. He tells him that the same guy was there and he took Sherry and two other girls with him.  Frank finds out where the guy lives and he has cops and firemen with him. They break in and they find the girls. The killer runs off. The cops chase him. He takes a cop car and he ends up driving it into the river. The cops don't find a body, just his ritual mask.

This film isn't great. It has some bad acting and the plot is a bit silly. I can't say that it was terrible, though. It was entertaining in some ways. It is worth a look if you enjoy low budget horror films plus this was termed as a 'video nasty'!! I will give it a 4/10.

The Last Slumber Party Movie Review

The Last Slumber Party is a 1988 horror movie directed by Stephen Tyler and starring nobody you would know.

A man dresses up as a doctor and he kills a teenager. The cops come. A group of teens want to have a party. They want to have it at Linda's house. Cut to the killer doctor who murders a nurse at a mental institution. Linda's dad is a doctor. The party is in full swing. Some boys show up. Linda's dad has to work at night at the hospital so the teens are alone. The killer doctor is wandering around Linda's house.  The guys are going to scare the girls. One of them climbs up the window and the doctor kills him. The killer makes his way through the teens.

Linda's mother tells the teens that they have to go to bed. There is some weird dream scene that makes no sense. One of the girls, Chris wakes during the night. She wakes the others. Someone is calling the house. It is the dad. Bodies are turning up all over the house. Linda gets stabbed. Chris finds two guys dead and she wanders around the house while the killer follows her. You would think that she would head for the door, but no, she just wanders around. She does get a knife, though. She doesn't call the cops or go for help. She stabs one of the guys by mistake, but it doesn't seem to worry her too much. The killer doctor comes along with his eyes bulging, looking all menacing and crazy. Chris goes back to get another knife. WHAT!!! She actually starts to wander around again. I think this girl needs to die for being so stupid.

The killer finds her and holds up his scalpel and stares at it. How scary. Chris looks at her knife too. Is it a duel??? She stabs the doctor and doesn't seem too bothered. Suddenly, she falls, for NO REASON.

Linda's dad returns home. The killer doc is carrying bodies around the house. The dad gets a call about a psychiatric patient who has escaped. He has to go back to the hospital. Chris is alive. She continues wandering around. Linda's dad gets murdered.  Linda's dad is floating in the pool. Chris gets killed(finally). Oh, yes. It is a dream. WHAT. It turns out that it has been a dream, but oh no, then the phone rings and Linda finds out that there is an escaped patient wandering around. She goes outside and the killer doc slips inside the house. He gets Linda. There is a scream as the doctor holds up his scalpel.

What to say about this. Hmm. It was bad, really bad. The story was stupid. A lot of things made no sense. Why was that girl wandering around the house when she could have run off. There were so many stupid things happening and then it is all a dream. Silly. It was all over the place. The acting was terrible. It is just a mess, totally. Avoid. I will give it a 2/10.

Amityville Island Movie Review

Amityville Island is a 2020 horror movie and part of the Amityville series of films. It is directed by Mark Polonia and Paul Alan Steele and stars nobody you would know.

The film begins with a yard sale. A woman called Kelly Jo sees a very suspicious looking lady selling her oddities at the side of the road. She decides to buy all of her stuff(why???).  The lady informs her that the owners of the house where the stuff came from have gone. She says that she is the realtor. After selling the stuff to Kelly Jo, she kills herself after seeing a man in a red mask. Scary stuff... Kelly has bought a house in Amityville. She goes looking through the box of crap that she bought from the lady. There is a weird doll in it. When has a doll ever been good in these films. If I saw a creepy doll, that box would be burning in the back yard. Kelly gets possessed by the doll. Surprise. She kills her kids and our pal in the red mask appears to show that there is some evil afoot.

Kelly Jo ends up in prison and on death row. The prison guards are filming her and another prisoner. It is fight night. Who knew that prisons could hold their own fights and to make it even better, there is commentary! The demon still resides in Kelly and it helps her to beat up her opponent. Kelly and the other girl are going to an island. Her name is Renata and she attacks the prison guards on their way to the island.  She and Kelly reach the island and meet a doctor. They are implanted with a tracker. There are dogs on the islands and zombies too. There is a possessed shark in the water, but we only see that for a few seconds and that's it! Doctor Tyler brings the girls in to meet his colleague, Dr. Ormond. 

The doctors operate on Kelly Jo. The rest of the film shows us that the doctors are experimenting on prisoners. The doctors are trying to creature super soldiers. The girls try to escape. The doctors get attacked by their own creations. Kelly and Renata want to get off the crazy island. They manage to get to a boat and they leave. The film ends with Renata and Kelly living in a house. Kelly is about to give birth. She does but the baby is not human!!!!!!!

This film is awful. It really has no connection with the other Amityville films at all. It just uses the name for this piece of junk. This film made NO sense. The story was silly. The acting was really bad. The special effects left a lot to be desired. I know that these films are low budget and they don't have money for stuff, but don't use the Amityville name to promote your film. Amityville has nothing to do with this. This is a cheap film about an island. The poster shows a big shark on it and you would think that this will feature said shark, but the shark is only there for a few seconds. If you love the Amityville films, then this will annoy you, as it did me. I will give it a 1/10.

Aquarium of the Dead Movie Review

Aquarium of the Dead is a 2021 comedy/horror movie directed by Glenn Miller and starring Vivica A. Fox.

The movie begins with a scientist who is working with sea creatures. Something goes wrong and a huge octopus attacks everyone. Cut to the Shining Sea Aquarium where Miranda(Eva Ceja) is working in the lab. There is a call from a place called Eden Zoo sating that they need to destroy a certain batch of medication because it is dangerous to the creatures. The medication has disappeared though. Senator Blackburn(Anthony Jensen) and his assistant, Beth, show up to meet Miranda. Miranda gets a call from the scientist from the beginning of the film. She is really panicked. A woman called Clu(Fox) is there and she finds out what happened with the octopus.

They need to close down the ducts in the aquarium and go into lockdown because the creatures have had the medication and they could turn violent. A dead dolphin comes back to life. Zombie sea creatures!! The creatures are out of their tanks. The place locks down to stop them. Communications are affected and Clu tries to find a way to call for help. Two workers, Daniel and Skylar go in through a tunnel into the aquarium. There is a crocodile on the loose. A huge crab attacks Daniel. Skylar saves him but he gets attacked too. A doctor gets attacked by a starfish. The doctor says that the creatures are emitting venom. The Senator, Miranda and others decide to go up to the roof. Daniel and Skylar are in the tunnel underneath the aquarium. Clu is working on the cameras to see where the creatures are. 

The fire service are called in. Two firefighters see a crocodile outside the aquarium. Miranda tells the people trapped inside that they need to climb through a duct to get to a fire door. They run into Daniel and Sylar.  Miranda realises that the medication has caused the catastrophe. Daniel is to blame as he never destroyed the medication. The firemen get inside the aquarium. Miranda and her group meet a walrus and a crocodile who want to have them for lunch. Skylar dies. Clu calls Miranda and tells her that she can't open the doors to let them out. They need to switch on the power manually. They work out that the creatures are actually blind. The group have to go through the shark exhibit to get to the basement and switch on power. Beth gets attacked by a starfish. She dies. The Senator gets finished off by an octopus. Miranda climbs across into the basement which is flooded. She turns on the power.

The rest of the film is them electrocuting some of the creatures and escaping. Now, I know that this is not the best film out there. It's not even close to it, but I did enjoy this because it was so ridiculous. Sometimes, these really cheap films can be fun and this was fun and silly but somehow, it was entertaining. I found it fun because you don't need to think about it or figure anything out. You just watch it and leave your brain at the door. For some mindless fun, give this a watch. I can't give it a very good score because it is so silly, but I will be kind and give it a 4/10.

The St. Francisville Experiment Movie Review

The St. Francisville Experiment is a 2000 found footage horror movie directed by Ted Nicolaou and starring nobody you would know.

A producer called Paul(Paul Salamoff) is making a documentary with a group of paranormal investigators. Their documentary is set in a place called St. Francisville. It is supposed to be haunted. The participants are Tim, Madison, Ryan  and Troy. Troy is supposedly an expert on ghosts. A woman called Sarah is coming along too. She says that she is psychic. They talk about a woman called Madam LaLaurie who was evil and tortured people in her house. They think that she might have stayed at St. Francisville.  Paul talks to some of the locals about the house. A psychic is going to go into the house too. They all arrive at the house. Paul locks them inside for the night. The lights don't work. Madison feels uneasy. They set up their equipment.

Madison hears someone whisper her name. A door opens on its own. Let me tell you, I would be getting the key and running the hell out of there at this point! They wander around and go down to the old creepy basement. There is an old doctors bag with knives inside. Music starts to play(get out of there!!!!). They discover a music box. A doll makes an appearance. Every horror movie cliché seems to be in this film. A chair moves by itself. The group goes up to the attic and there is a dead bird up there.  The lights go out and they go back downstairs. A séance is the next thing to happen. These people just want something bad to happen to them, it seems. 

They have a Ouija board and of course they make contact. The spirit is called Charles. Chains appear from the chimney. They decide to cleanse the house. I would think that it is a bit late for that now. Paul goes into the attic to cleanse it. He gets stuck up there. Tim hears noises and he gets dragged away by something. Madison is attacked, but Paul saves her. They go and look for the others and they find them tied up. What is going on in the creepy house? Could it be some ghosts maybe? The group escape and the film draws to a close.

The first thing to say about this film is that it is certainly cashing in on the Blair Witch Project success. That is obvious. This film is not as good as Blair Witch. It can stand on its own two feet, though. It is a haunted house film and there are some decent scares in it. The acting is ropey, to be sure, but still, I did enjoy this. There is a lot of hate for it because people compare it to the better film, but just enjoy it for what it is- a low budget haunted house movie with some scares. Don't expect too much and you will enjoy it. It isn't great, but it isn't as bad as people say either. Make up your own mind. I found it hard to rate this. It is somewhere between a four and a five.

Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things is a 1972 horror movie directed by Bob Clark and starring Alan Ormsby.

The film begins with a man who digs up a corpse. Cut to a group of people who are going to an island. They are actors and a man called Alan(Ormsby) is their leader. They go to a graveyard on the island and they hear noises. There are creatures watching them. The group heads to a cottage. Alan knows all about the island. The group are going to spend the night there. One of the group, Anya, wants to see a ghost. Alan has a chest full of satanic stuff and h e tells the group that they are his employees and that  they are going to summon to undead. He has a book of spells ready for the occasion. They go into the graveyard and they dig up a corpse. It attacks them but it's just a joke by Alan and two friends, Roy and Emerson.

 Alan does have a real corpse with him. He is the man who dug up the body at the start of the movie. The corpse is called Orville. The group use him in a ceremony. Alan wants to raise the dead. 

Alan summons Satan but nothing happens. He is disgusted and a woman called Val performs the rites instead. Everyone thinks it's a joke. Alan takes Orville back to the cottage. He doesn't realise it, but corpses are starting to rise, for real. Some of the group mess with Orville and others don't think that it is funny at all. One of them called Anja tells them that they shouldn't be messing with the corpse. She is upset by it. She is convinced that Orville is evil. Alan doesn't care. Roy and Emerson are the first to be attacked by the real undead. Alan is left alone by the others who are going to leave. They see what is left of Roy and he warns them. They see a horde of undead and they have to go back to the cottage and barricade themselves in.

A plan is needed. One of the group, Paul, says that he might be able to get past them. The others distract the reanimated while Paul sneaks out the back. He gets munched, though. The others are getting attacked. Alan searches for a counter spell to put the dead back into their graves. He chants some spell and it seems to work. The group run for the boat but the undead catch them. They get eaten alive. Alan and Anya are left. They go to the cottage but the zombies follow. Alan throws Anya to them and he locks himself into a bedroom. Orville reanimates and he  kills Alan. The rest of the horde go to the boat and set sail...

This is a weird film and a very cheaply made one. There are some interesting moments in it and it is well made for such a low budget film. Bob Clark is responsible for this and he also directed Black Christmas. This isn't as good as that film but it is worth a look because it is considered a cult classic. I will give it 5/10,

Terror on Tour Movie Review

Terror on Tour is a 1980 horror movie directed by Don Edmonds and starring Larry Thomas.

The film revolves around a KISS style rock group who are known for their antics onstage.

They paint their faces and they are very wild. A woman is killed at one of their shows by someone who is dressed like a member of the band. The police come to investigate. The band members don't seem to worry about it and they continue to party and do the same things as they always do. The killer has a big knife and he is wandering around backstage. Two more girls meet their deaths at his hands. The police come back and they think that a member of the group is the killer. Tim(Thomas) is the band's manager and he tries to get the police off their backs.

The police decide to send in a girl to mix with the band and to draw out the killer. A guy called Herb is the make up artist for the group. He dresses up as a member of the group. He seems dodgy. Then there is Jeff who is a roadie. He is also a suspect. Jeff gets fired and he isn't happy about it. More girls die and the band have to take it seriously. They talk to each other and they trust that it isn't one of them. The undercover girl ends up meeting the killer, but he doesn't get her. She runs off. He chases her and she hides from him. The lieutenant who is investigating the case is backstage looking for the killer. He finds him but unfortunately, the killer stabs him.

The undercover girl emerges, thinking that she can escape, but the killer is after her. She manages to find the lieutenant who is in a bad way. She takes his gun and looks for the exit. The killer catches and stabs her. The killer is revealed to be Jeff. Herb sees him and Jeff explains that he had to kill the girls as they were whores and sluts. They had no morals. He comes for Herb next. Herb runs onto the stage where the band are playing. They stop playing. Jeff jumps at Herb and he stabs him. The movie ends with Jeff shouting 'No' at the crowd.

I think that this could have been an entertaining film, but it just wasn't. I didn't like it much. It was a bit boring, bland and too cheaply made. I couldn't tell one character from the other and I was just tired of it by the time it ended. It is a shame as I did like the premise. It just had bad actors and the story was not as good as it could have been. It is worth a look if you are a fan of 80's slashers, but you have been warned. I will give it a 3/10.

Devil Dog :The Hound of Hell Movie Review

Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell is a 1978 made for TV horror movie directed by Curtis Harrington and starring Richard Crenna, Yvette Mimieux, Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann.

At Lakeland Kennels, a lady looks for a dog. She has people with her. They want a female dog, ready for breeding. They pick one called Lady. They want the dog for a Satanic rite. They call up the devil and the dog is cursed. Cut to Mike Barry(Crenna) and his wife Betty(Mimieux). They have two children, Bonnie(Richards) and Charlie(Eisenmann). Their dog called Skipper gets knocked down by a car and killed. Bonnie is very upset. One day, Bonnie and Charlie are playing outside when they see a man with a truck. He has puppies in the back of it. The mother is the same dog who had some Satanic rites performed on it.  Bonnie wants a puppy and the man gives her one. He drives off. The family call the dog Lucky.

The housekeeper Maria doesn't like the dog. She talks to Mike about it. She tells him that the dog gives her the chills. She begs him to get rid of it. She ends up getting set on fire and that's the end of her. Mike is being snubbed by Lucky. He thinks that there is something different about the dog. The dog stares at him and tries to make him put his hand into the lawnmower blade. Mike resists it. He realises that the dog is evil. The dog leads the kids up to the attic. Afterwards, the kids change. Betty discovers blood and she asks them about it and they tell her to butt out. Betty calls Mike and she asks him to come home. She is scared of Lucky. The dog follows her around.

When Mike arrives home, Betty is acting strangely. A neighbour has a dog and Betty talks to him and tells him that she wants the dog gone because it is barking at Lucky. The neighbour refuses and coincidentally, the dog ends up dead. The neighbour thinks that it was Lucky. Mike tries to talk to him about it. Betty and the kids are against the neighbour and he ends up dead. A teacher from Charlie's school calls around the see Mike. He tells him that Charlie is not himself. He thinks that Charlie needs help. Unfortunately, this teacher gets hit by a car. What could be causing all of these accidents???

Surely it isn't Lucky the dog....

Mike finds Satanic stuff in the attic. He wonders what is going on. His family seem to be doing something strange in the attic. Mike goes to the doctor for a checkup. He tells Betty that Lucky needs to leave. She reacts badly. He takes Lucky off in his car and he brings his gun. Her drives it out into the middle of nowhere and he tries to kill it, but to no avail. He abandons it. When he arrives home, it is there!!!! Mike visits a woman who knows all about occult stuff and she tells him that the dog could be possessed by a demon. He has to destroy it. He goes to Ecuador to find a man who knows about the demon. The man tells him that a symbol painted on his hand should do the trick. The dog will be sent back to hell if he sees it.  Mike returns home and he shows the dog the symbol. It sends him back to hell. The family return to normal but they know that there are more devil dogs out there....

This was fun. I liked the idea of the devil dog. It is a TV movie, but it entertains all the same. There are no real scares here, of course. There aren't really any creepy moments. It is light on the horror, but it is enjoyable. I found it to be a decent watch and I think that it will pass away the time quite nicely. I will give it a 5/10.

Edge of Sanity Movie Review

Edge of Sanity is a 1989 horror movie directed by Gerard Kikoine and starring Anthony Perkins and Glynis Barber.

The film begins with a man called Henry Jekyll(Perkins), who is experimenting with a new drug. He feeds it to his monkey. Something begins to happen to it. Henry decides to take the drug himself and he begins to change. He becomes a different personality, Mr. Hyde. He heads off out on the town. He visits a brothel and meets a prostitute. He kills her. The next morning, he wakes up as Doctor Jekyll again. The murder is being investigated by the police. They wonder if the killer has a knowledge of anatomy. Jekyll transforms once  again and repeats his murderous actions. This time, someone has spotted him. Jekyll's wife, Elisabeth(Barber) notices that he is acting strangely and she asks him what is going on. He fobs her off.

Jekyll begins to transform on a regular basis and his crimes become more bizarre and horrible. His wife discovers that he has been lying to her about working at the hospital at night. Hyde meets a prostitute called Susannah and he likes her. She is happy to be part of his games and she convinces a man called Johnny to be a part of them too,  Elisabeth asks Jekyll what he is doing. He tells her that he has to look after Hyde. They have a chat and he promises to make things better between them. She believes him and they reconcile. He can't help himself, though and he returns to his killing. Jekyll leaves his money to Hyde in his will.

Elisabeth snoops some more and she catches Jekyll with Susannah and Johnny. Jekyll knows the game is up so he tries to get his lackeys to kill Elisabeth, but she is tough and she ends up killing them. She leaves and goes home.  Jekyll follows her and murders her so that she can't talk to the police. The police come to see him and they think that the murderer is Mr. Hyde who is nowhere to be found. Jekyll is able to continue on with his life.

This film is not bad, but it isn't great either. I am a big Perkins fan and I watched this with an open mind, I just didn't love it. Perkins does a good job in it as Jekyll and Hyde, but he couldn't make this film great. I was a bit disappointed with it, to be honest. That shouldn't put you off, though. It is worth a look, just to see Perkins' performance. I will give this a 5/10.

He Knows You're Alone Movie Review

He Knows You're Alone is a 1980 horror movie directed by Armand Mastroianni and starring Caitlin O'Heaney, Elizabeth Kemp, Don Scardino and Dana Barron.

The film begins with a girl being murdered in a cinema by a killer called Ray. She was due to be married soon. Her killer escapes. He has already killed a girl on her wedding day. Cut to Amy(O'Heaney), who is also a bride to be. Her fiancée is going away on a bachelors weekend. Ray is following her and he sees her with her fiancée. Amy is a little nervous. She has a feeling that she is being watched. She bumps into a friend called Marvin(Scardino), who also happens to be her ex boyfriend. He doesn't think that she should marry her fiancée, Phil. Amy is in a dress shop trying on her dress when she thinks that someone is in there with her. It is Marvin. He wants to meet her. The killer stabs the shop owner later.  He follows Amy home where her friends have arranged a surprise party for her.

Detective Len Gamble(Lewis Arlt) is after Ray. His fiancée was the girl in the wedding dress that Ray killed. He wants Ray and he is obsessed with the case. The killer murders one of Amy's friends who was having an affair with a professor. He also kills the professor. Amy thinks that she sees someone outside. She tells Marvin, but there is nobody there. Len visits the bridal shop where the owner was killed. He finds Amy's name on her dress. Amy goes for a run alone. The killer is following her. Len thinks that Amy is going to be the next victim. Amy and her friends go to a fairground. Amy sees the killer following her. Phil calls Amy but she doesn't answer the phone. Amy tells her friend Nancy(Kemp) that she saw someone after her. Nancy is the killer's next victim.

Amy returns home and she finds Nancy's head in her fish tank. The killer shows himself and he chases her. She gets out and she runs to the morgue where Marvin works. She tells him what is happening.

 He goes to see if the killer is around. Len is at Amy's house and he calls the station. They tell him that Amy has called them and told them about the killer. He goes to the morgue and he finds the killer chasing Amy. He shoots him but he ends up getting stabbed. Ray comes for Amy. She manages to stab his arm and lock him in a closet . She and Marvin escape as the police come in. The movie ends with Amy on her wedding day. She is marrying Marvin, not Phil. Phil shows up and she screams, suggesting that history will repeat itself.

This was a good slasher film. I liked it a lot. It is not mentioned when people talk about eighties slashers but it is worth a watch for slasher fans. It also features Tom Hanks in a very minor part. This is his first movie role! So, this film is not the most original one out there, but it is better than a lot of slasher movies that I have seen from this year. I recommend it. I will give it a 6/10.
